Would be nice to see at least one surprise game announcement. I know that Nintendo has done this before, like when they announced Hyrule Warriors through a direct.
I'm hoping they'll focus more on the games coming out next year, and not use most of the direct time to promote Smash.
The physical cart for this game is quite pricey. This is a nice alternative for those that would like to check it out. I'm definitely going to purchase this one soon.
I finally got around to play the original game, and I'm really enjoying it. Already planning to get the second game and play that too. I do hope it gets another sequel. Let's go De Blob 3!
That's a sweet looking figure. And of course it happens to be a figure of one of my favorite suits. Will probably never buy it, but it still looks really good.
Good, this should show Square that there's still a market for such games in the west. I'm also glad the FF 13 series is over and Square can concentrate on other games.
I do think they should have just concentrated on the game, and got that out, before also focusing on other mediums. I'm really not a fan on this double dipping on kickstarter for another Mighty No. 9 project. Finish the game first, and establish the brand then branch out.
I do like how the game looks so far, and will end up getting it. However, I don't think it's going to move systems like Itagaki thinks it's going it's going to move systems.
I'm liking that they are adding in alt skins for characters. Definitely liking the fact that they added Little Mac's jump suit. I'm assuming this means that maybe Dr Mario might be an alt costume for Mario perhaps. I'm also hoping that perhaps we'll get to use the other versions of Megaman as his alt costumes. I'd love to be able to run around as X, Megaman Volnutt, or even Megaman.EXE.
I definitely have to agree unified account system, cross buy, and folders to help organize everything better. I'm all for some nice Quality of Life changes.
I'm just curious to see which companies might try to step in and get Capcom if this all happens. Capcom brought this all on themselves to be quite honest.
I'm not sure if Nintendo would want to get into a bidding war with Sony and Microsoft, if for some reason all three decided to go after Capcom. I'm curious to see what Nintendo might do. I know they sometimes tend to play really conservatively on all this.
Nintendo didn't snag Atlus, so it's hard to say if they'd take the chance with Capcom or not. Even if they potentially doesn't try to get the company as a whole, I hope that Nintendo might at the very least secure a few IP's for them. I just hope Sega doesn't acquire Capcom if this happens.
I like that we're getting Bayonetta 1 as well, that's awesome. However with the way Nintendo's account system is right now, I'd rather have the physical copy.
That way if for some reason the previous Wii U messed up and you had to get a new one you'd still have Bayonetta 1 as well. I do hope Nintendo makes their digital games account bound at some point rather than system bound. Unless they changed that already? If I'm wrong, feel free to let me know.
@CaviarMeths Yeah I do agree, the patent system needs to be looked over. The fact that you can make a vague idea, sit on it for years, then sue people who have something kinda sorta similar needs to stop.
Also there needs to be a statute of limitations on these patent cases. I swear some of these patent troll companies wait for many years before bringing up an infringement case. Likely waiting to see how much money the "offending" company made off of it first.
@WanderingPB Yeah the Mass Effect thing was stupid. They should have released the trilogy on the Wii U as well. They sabotaged themselves then complained about the low Wii U sales.
I'd just like to see this game in action in order to make a better judgement on it. I mean still pictures are nice and all, but they really show nothing of the gameplay.
It just seems odd to me that a title like FIFA is skipping a system with online capabilities, but supporting one that no longer has online play. I know Wii still sells apparently, but I also know online is a big feature for these sports titles.
I can see where they're coming from due to previous systems still having fairly large player bases. Perhaps down the road as more Wii U systems hopefully sell later this year, perhaps they'll bring in more sports games to help give the system a more varied library.
Sports games aren't my cup of tea, but many players out there do enjoy them. I'm all for Wii U having a varied library for all kinds of gaming tastes out there. Here's hoping in the future the Wii U sales will get better and they will consider releasing on it.
Nintendo can turn things around, it's just going to be a huge uphill battle. I do agree that they had communication issues. Was the system meant for the massive audience they gained for the Wii? Was the system meant more to draw in the heavily invested Sony/Microsoft crowd? Nintendo didn't come out with a clear message for the system.
I'm not one to bet against Nintendo though, even at their low points, they always find a way to turn things around. It's not going to be easy, and might even possibly take years to do, but Nintendo will bring themselves back up. They always seem to find a way.
@LUIGITORNADO I agree with you on the overhyping part. Some people are going to end up penalizing it because they're going to set their expectations so impossibly high.
This could be interesting. Sounds to me like how wants to expand the puzzle solving element to possibly include your choices and actions through the game. I know how he also mentioned previously about being able to play the dungeons out or order. It seems Aonuma really wants to give alot of freedom and choice to the player this time around. He's certainly being ambitious for this game. I'm curious with this potentially open-ended dungeon structure, if each dungeon will have multiple ways through it, depending on the items you have.
I'm all for a more fleshed out Hyrule. I'm glad he's wanting to make some changes to what's become a rather formulaic system. I'm just curious to see how the Zelda fanbase will take to all these changes he's wanting to make.
I look forward to a potential continuation of Darksiders. I enjoyed the series, and being able to see the story continue to play out would be awesome. I do wish Darksiders 2 for Wii U could've pulled a Bayonetta 2 and had the first game available with it as well.
Actually some of this discussion makes me think of another point. Is each game going to have it's own seperate Amiibo set? They mentioned Amiibo's being compatible also with Mario Kart 8 down the road. I'm wondering if each game will have it's own set of Amiibo's.
Like if I bought for example an Amiibo of say: The Villager. Would that only add stuff to Smash or would it also unlock stuff for MK 8? Since a character like the villager isn't even in Mario Kart 8, it makes me wonder. Maybe the other figures could unlock a new driver, tracks, or items, etc.
I'm very curious to see if the other companies (specifically Sony and Microsoft) adopt a similar program to Nintendo's Treehouse for next year's E3. As far as E3 went, you gotta pretty good announcements no matter what camp you were in.
Splatoon guest starring Dr Zoidberg. We need Zoidberg DLC! It is nice seeing people take to a new IP. I hope Splatoon does well, but we'll see when it comes out.
If this goes over well I wonder if Nintendo will make their own game similar to Skylanders and Disney Infinity. I know the way that they presented it the figures will just be used as another option for some of their current and upcoming games.
I'm curious to see if somewhere down the road Nintendo may make a game that actually requires the figures to play it.
Actually I was curious about something. I know some of these "create-a-level" type games have a feature where in order to share a map you made you had to actually beat it. Did Nintendo comment on adding such a restriction or no?
I'm definitely interested to see this game as Nintendo fleshes this out with more objects to use for each map. Also will be nice to see more level variations and even being able to adjust level length. I'm looking forward to sharing levels, and being able to play other peoples levels. I hope level sharing isn't restricted to just friends.
Also, if this goes over well, I'd really be interested in a Zelda maker.
I was in the group thinking Nintendo was going to mark up their figure prices slightly. So that'll be interesting to see how things play out with Nintendo trying to match the other companies in pricing.
If they bring back Prime, of course I'm sure Retro has that on lock. I'm more curious to see who Nintendo will get to head up a potential 2D Metroid project. As far as I remember, Sakamoto was wanting to get away from Metroid for a while to pursue other IP's.
