All it really needs are folders, the "all programs" option is still a mess if you have lots of games and apps and of course it's not a solution. They'll probably never give us themes considering the explanation about wanting to have a seamless performance when going back and forth between tv and handheld modes, at least letting you use screenshots as background should be an option. I know all of these features took a while to arrive on 3ds but precisely for that reason folders should have arrived at release date
@Chibi Hence the "might" part and yes, Xenoblade IS a huge IP for Nintendo nowadays, still we've yet to see all the new announcements for next year so a direct in january/february wouldn't be surprising
There's no way this game will be out next year, mid to late 2021 seems much more reasonable and part of me thinks they might want to save Xenoblade remake as their big holiday title for next year. As for MP4 that seems to be a 2021/2022 title alongside that long rumored hd port of the trilogy. Other than that I think we might see a Mario odyssey sequel or finally have more info on Bayo3
@KayFiOS Each photo represents a different step, the first one is a storyboard which gives devs a general layout for character modeling, which camera angles to use, how the backgrounds will look like, etc because is way more convenient than just messing around with the game's engine. Second one is motion capture, not a lot to say about that one, the third is the character modeling using mocap as a base and the fourth picture is the finalized trailer itself
@quartet1986 CDPR had no trouble shipping The witcher 3 on the 32 gb card at standard price which could mean manufacturing costs have dropped enough to make it affordable, it's a problem exclusive to western publishers as japanese ones have been using said card since the Switch's launch at no extra cost (Capcom notwithstanding of course)
After Collection of mana it seems very likely, it would be dumb not to take advantage of XI's momentum, wonder if the reason for not localizing from the start could have anything to do with optimization because from what I've heard these were quite rough ports
TPCI once again showing how utterly incompetent they are, one would think opening permanent stores across all major cities in the world would be a given by now. This is literally the most profitable entertainment franchise ever so I find it hard to believe it was an unprecedented success even if the UK isn't a particularly strong market for Nintendo. It's just poor management through and through
There's a fact some people are severely overlooking and it's simply that the crowd playing this game and spending money on it won't necessarily go buy the console and MK8D, that's not how it works. Sure in the grand scheme of things this is a free advertising for the actual experience and anyone expecting that sort of thing out of a mobile game are just setting themselves for disappoinment but Nintendo has made it very clear the mobile titles are a whole separate thing from their traditional games, and it's up to people to spend actual money seeing you can get stuff without investing a cent with a little more patience. If you don't like it just ignore it and play the real thing instead, thus far these kind of games haven't interfered with their big budget brothers on Switch so I don't see why folks should get all worked up
And remember folks to never EVER use copyrighted material even if it's intended as an inocuous reference, much less from a billion selling entertainment franchise
The game running like crap on Ps4 and PC was a result of very poor optimization (not sure about Xbox), as per usual with Platinum's games the graphics aren't amazing but have a lot of style, but of course SE never bothered to fix it. And given how surprisingly supportive towards Switch they've been there's at least a possibility
@Malcrash Yes but the first X-Men movie released twenty years ago when comic book movies were a HUGE financial risk as a result of the disastrous Batman films of the late 90's. The point was to make them look less like they came from comics and more realistic in order to be taken seriously, of course it proved to be succesful and helped pave the way to modern superhero films. The MCU films were able to be more faithful to the source material because there wasn't any risk anymore
@BaronLaw Well Marvel Comics have never been just escapist fantasy as a lot of people try to think, they always drew parallelism to real life as a means to convey a significant message, Lee, Kirby, Ditko and co. pushed REAL hard for that and it's made evident in the earlier days of Marvel
No surprises here, the Wii represents a good portion of the sales of these games and it's on its way to surpass PS2's game support if Just dance 2021 gets released which is very likely. Crazy to think they axed Wii U support so soon but business is business
This kind of stuff has been typical of Atlus since forever and if they say it won't happen then won't happen, they are way behind the times when it comes to everything and now with Sony's censorship frenzy at full force I'm afraid they might butcher stuff from P5R, which wouldn't be surprising considering how awfully dodgy they've been about Catherine Full Body (then it flopped so hard nobody cared or talked about it). In fact I'm getting quite sick of Persona this, Persona that, they love milking each entry to death, instead I want to hear about SMTV, Project Re Fantasy (whatever that will be), 13 Sentinels or any other forgotten franchise under their belly that could potentially be resurrected
The first one is my most played 3ds game (clocked around 150 hours) and ain't even a fan of EO. This is absolutely a must buy for me as the farewell title for the console, although I still have a sizeable backlog so the system will have life for years to come
Good thing the franchise is finally returning to Nintendo and it's getting localized, also just to make things clear this is a remaster of the remake released for the PSP
@westman98 For an eight year old device whose first party development practically already ended in favor of the newer console it's not that bad. They'll keep producing it for some more years like they did with DS but it's clear it ain't their main focus anymore
This little guy has an amazing library, add to that backwards compatibility with DS games and it's pretty much the best Nintendo handheld. I still have a sizable backlog consisting mainly of RPG goodness, the genre that definitely shone on the system. Almost seven years with the midnight purple model and still rocking
@zocker-hias If anything the company is the one at fault here, as to why people won't give their real names it could be for a variety of reasons like fearing a possible retaliation coming from Netherealm (it's not entirely imposible) if they know exactly who spoke. Or they think it could cause the studio to just dismiss these declarations, like Rockstar has done several times. Sure it's not perfect but if this encourages more people to talk about it why not?
I always thought these games were really over the top, tacky and edgy just for the sake of it, which is obviously part of the appeal, for the "kool kids" but after watching the same animations for fatalities over and over it's plain tedious. No game ever will be worth enough to force the development team to basically become desensitized and traumatized to any kind of violence.
And to everyone claiming this isn't true because of Kotaku, their reporting on awful work environment inside Riot Games turned out to be 100% true and the employees even organized a march. This very comment section is the reason why all these people hesitate to speak about their labor conditions, the huge lack of empathy that has become so pervasive in current internet culture
@zocker-hias Do you really have to ask? Obviously this person fears a possible repercussion coming from the studio like you know, losing their job for speaking about these details. Not every company likes having employees spilling the beans, much less if it could give them bad rep
"Properly good" is entirely subjective, even the first two Resident Evil or Silent Hill managed to translate some of the feeling of the games to the big screen and they are watchable at best. I find this Detective Pikachu to be something of a disingenous adaptation, sure technically it IS a Pokémon movie but not the one fans would come to expect, had this been based off the first generation games it wouldn't be getting nearly the same praise. Don't doubt it will be charming but calling it the be all of videogame adaptations is laughable and a bit much
Sure finding new audiences to keep the franchise alive is very important but honestly how many of those will eventually migrate to the main games, you know, the main source material and the thing TPCI ultimately strives for with all those byproducts.
In my own experience with young nephews and nieces (fully capable of reading comprehension btw) they recognize some characters and somewhat like the anime but the most they have touched is Go, they aren't familiar with portables or know the origins of the franchise so I doubt they'll stick to it beyond a couple years
Point being the biggest chunk of the sales still come from the older fans in their 20's and 30's while the kids mainly consume the anime and maybe Go but will still be a while until they can eventually renovate the current fanbase, and only if they stick to it long enough
Interesting to have more insight as I find Detective Pikachu's designs to be half and half between really good representations that actually work and plain uncanny valley stuff, not that we'll see too much of them in action besides the titular Pikachu. As for Sonic, I still question why producers were deadset on going the live action route instead of doing 3D animation that could stay close to the original designs as seen on Wreck it Ralph, made even worse by the fact people from Sega had zero involvement. Don't think his design will change drastically, most likely it'll be a mix and match of whatever scrapped designs they have considering the movie is only six months away
These reviews basically confirm what we already knew, if you are a huge fan of the franchise there's a good chance you'll want to watch it but if not it's just another movie. And there isn't anything wrong with that, after all it was clear they were targeting old school fans, I happen to fall in that camp and surely will go watch it. Now critics don't HAVE to be familiar with the source material, that's a coincidence most of the time and just purely reflect what someone who isn't familiar with the franchise would think about it, but who the hell takes critics seriously these days? If anything I have mixed feelings about PokeGo being the thing most people including kids recognize the franchise for
@-Juice- Is it really the case? All the excitement I've seen on social media comes from the old school fans, you know the ones who actually grew up with the franchise, and that's the market they're going after. Nowadays kids basically know the franchise from Go and maybe the anime but lack that nostalgic feeling for it. It's not strange that a lot of critics aren't fans and as such the movie don't do anything for them
@limitbreakfull The question is what vision exactly? The movie's plot is not that ambitious to begin with and to make matters worse Sonic's actual creators hated the design with a passion so there was no reason to carry on with it. I'm more concerned nobody in the production team thought it was bad and barely resembled the character to begin with it
It's good they are actually listening to the fans, I don't think they'll redesign Sonic from scratch maybe just the face and be done with it. Of course that still doesn't guarantee the movie will be great and even then it has to compete with Frozen 2 but at least it can have a better presentation than it currently has
I consider the first two Resident Evil films, both Silent Hills and Vikander's Tomb Raider actually good, while not all that faithful they managed to translate the atmosphere of their respective games quite well.
Other than that Detective Pikachu looks very charming, some pokedesigns not withstanding. Although I was indifferent at first now I'm curious to watch it. Sonic looks totally wrong and Jim Carrey seems to be its only saving grace. I have no faith in the upcoming Monster Hunter which is basically Alice slaying critters with ridiculous looking gear and it's too soon to know anything about the Mario movie but at least Miyamoto is keeping a firm hand on it
Ridiculous amounts of DLC at ridiculous prices have been Atlus' bread and butter for quite some time, they adopted that business practice heavily around the time Sega bought them. Also friendly reminder the P5 milking has just begun!!
How exactly do you sneak a dead crab of all things inside these events is beyond me but I concur with other comments that Melee has been around for far longer that it should have. No wonder the community is so widely mocked
@Dman10 Keep in mind this is the fifth re release of this collection (counting PS3, PS Vita, PS4 and PC) and some people might want to wait for a price drop or already played it to death
@thesilverbrick Honestly a PS4 HDD will only last you like ten games at best with how awfully large most of them are not even including day-one patches and future updates. You have to constantly delete stuff if you don't want to spend on a bigger HDD, so it's the same situation across all consoles although Switch is certainly the worst
The download label seems to be completely optional to the publisher, for example Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD doesn't have anything of the sort on the cover yet only X is included in the cartridgde.
I prefer the more discrete label so it doesn't ruin the box art and honestly more often than not people already know when a game requires an extra download before playing. And if not they can always read the back of the box before buying. Realistically it's not an ideal situation but publishers still refuse to use the larger carts
@hanp01 He is from Persona 5, which is a PS4 exclusive but there have been heavy rumors pointing to a Switch port (frankly it's only a matter of time). The Persona games are basically spin offs of the Shin Megami Tensei series of RPGs and those have a long history with Nintendo all the way back to Super Famicom, with SMT V announced as Switch exclusive.
Also, I'd like to point out Joker's red color scheme represents both Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment games. Also, Kirby looks fabulous with that hairstyle!
@graysoncharles As you don't seem to understand it's obvious I'm talking about the price at which Nintendo sells these cards to the devs, NOT the general audience. If publishers don't buy them and adopt them at a massive scale the very few being ordered will never go down in price simply because there isn't enough demand, and of course neither Nintendo or the publishers want to eat up the cost. Supply and demand ringing a bell to you?
@SharkAttackU Of course there was outrage about Bayo1 being digital only when Japan got a physical version, but to be fair it was marketed as Bayo2 with the first one thrown as a bonus seeing later physical copies completely lacked it
@Itzdmo The solution is simply using the bigger game cards available, but of course that's way too prohibitive to western publishers as japanese publishers don't have that issue. And how the hell do you expect said game cards to go down on price if devs refuse to ship games on those, at this pace nobody will use the 64 gb cards. And for all your ranting you should just part ways with the Switch and Nintendo in general as everything you do is complain
@Caryslan Why insult these people calling them fanboys? This is a legit issue because there are japanese/asian releases that use the 32 gb cards without a problem and it's always western publishers cheapening out this way
Is it really THAT expensive to use a 32 GB game card? This has been the trend with western publishers exclusively, a handful of japanese/asian releases have used the bigger card or even more than one card. It's pretty stupid as they'll end up losing sales when they could slightly reduce profits but secure said sales instead
@Agramonte Compile Heart (devs of this franchise) games have never been huge sellers on any system, though they were a bit better on Ps Vita, because they're super niche and this one is a spin off very different than the main franchise. Also the game might simply not be good or it's a case of the fanbase being burnt out after endless spin offs
Interesting situation as we already know PC is king in Korea over any other platform and Bamco is the publisher, this might end up coming to the west but I don't see it releasing on the other two consoles. Could this mean the upcoming sequel will be multiplatform, at least I see it getting a Switch/PC release
Basically they are still blaming it on underwhelming WiiU sales (which shouldn't be surprising as almost every major 3rd party release was a flop) and can't be bothered to give a it a shot because it would be too troublesome to them. Well it's disappointing but not everything has to be on Switch after all
@eternalcube Absolutely, VII's graphics are horrendous even in this HD remaster. I've yet to play XII so I'll probably try it on Switch, my personal favorites thus far are VI for the story and X for the sphere grid system. As for OoT the game is really good despite nostalgia, not arguing with that, I have it on 3DS and it really improved aspects with the gameplay and graphics that were somewhat antiquated
This pretty much confirms the long rumored P5 release on Switch (I can already imagine fanboys having a heart attack) along with the newly opened website with more information being revealed on the 25th of this month. As for Zelda I guess it's simply a labeling mistake in their system, and I think MP trilogy was rumored before, probably getting an announcement at E3. Would help to lessen the pain of waiting who knows how long for MP4.

Also, I'd like to point out Joker's red color scheme represents both Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment games. Also, Kirby looks fabulous with that hairstyle!
Re: Bethesda Confirms Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Include A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card
Re: Bethesda Confirms Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Include A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card
@SharkAttackU Of course there was outrage about Bayo1 being digital only when Japan got a physical version, but to be fair it was marketed as Bayo2 with the first one thrown as a bonus seeing later physical copies completely lacked it
Re: Bethesda Confirms Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Include A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card
Re: Bethesda Confirms Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Include A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card
@Caryslan Why insult these people calling them fanboys? This is a legit issue because there are japanese/asian releases that use the 32 gb cards without a problem and it's always western publishers cheapening out this way
Re: Bethesda Confirms Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Include A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card
Re: Super Neptunia RPG Comes To Switch This Summer With A Lovely Physical Release
Re: Octopath Traveler's Switch Exclusivity Might Be Coming To An End
Interesting situation as we already know PC is king in Korea over any other platform and Bamco is the publisher, this might end up coming to the west but I don't see it releasing on the other two consoles. Could this mean the upcoming sequel will be multiplatform, at least I see it getting a Switch/PC release
Re: Sega's Yakuza Games Are Not In Consideration For The Switch Right Now
@diwdiws Okay don't start a stupid console war b*llsh*t now, it's beating a dead horse and doesn't bring anything to the discussion
Re: Sega's Yakuza Games Are Not In Consideration For The Switch Right Now
Basically they are still blaming it on underwhelming WiiU sales (which shouldn't be surprising as almost every major 3rd party release was a flop) and can't be bothered to give a it a shot because it would be too troublesome to them. Well it's disappointing but not everything has to be on Switch after all
Re: Review: Final Fantasy VII - A Timeless RPG Classic That's Nonetheless Beginning To Show Its Age
Re: Rumour: Persona 5, Metroid Prime Trilogy And A Link To The Past Are Switch-Bound According To Best Buy
