UK chart data is now in for the week ending 20th April, with a relatively quiet week at retail leaving us with a mostly familiar looking chart.
There are three Nintendo games in the top ten this week, but it's newcomer World War Z which has managed to take top position. Snooker 19 has racked up a ninth place debut, while Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster arrives in 20th place. My Time at Portia also made it into the charts, but down slightly lower in 27th.
Here's a look at this week's top twenty all formats chart (physical sales only):

That's higher than FFX/X-2 deserves to be with the dodgy way they've gone about the physical release outside of Japan (and SEA). Having X-2 as a one time use download code but also requiring the cartridge be inserted to access it is just wrong.
How will Snooker 19 chart elsewhere I wonder?
Im not surprised mariokart is so high. the game is just that fun! ..I always return for more
@JoeDiddley Too low to make the charts in the first place, I'd imagine. First I've even heard of the game's existence, haha.
Good to see that people who missed MK8 and SMBU on Wii U can now enjoy it on the Switch. Mariokart is probably the only franchise for which every single iteration is better than the previous one.
@BenAV This is even worse than I thought. There is no point in having the physical version.
What amazes me is GTAV always hope there since it’s release on last gen consoles
@BenAV I was toying with not being stubborn and just sticking with a local retail copy of X/X-2 versus importing until I read that news about needing the cartridge for X-2 elsewhere. If X-2 is a download to begin with, why is the cart even needed? Sounds like poor DRM to me.
@Tyranexx It's a really puzzling decision. They've managed to find the worst of both worlds.
@BenAV Wait, that's really how it works? You need to have the cartridge in, even if you aren't playing the cartridge game? Weird. I went full digital because I was lazy on release day, but that makes me glad I did it that way.
@Heavyarms55 I don't have a copy myself but that's what I've read. It has its own home menu icon and everything but if you try to open it without the cartridge in, it tells you to insert it as if it was a physical copy. Personally I opted to improt the SEA version so I could have both games on the cartridge and hearing about this makes me doubly glad that I did.
I'd be upset if FFX was actually a good game worth owning. Good thing it's not.
The hell is Snooker? Is that related to Snookie?
More people rather play new games at home than another old port on Switch at home and on the GO?... Shocking!.
MK11 is on the way soon enough.
@Rhaoulos @BenAV i agree just got an sd card and plan to buy the game digital.
Wait, no MK11? Am I missing something?
Edit: Yup, forgot the physical delay, my b.
That Final Fantasy game would be higher on the list, if it was cheaper.
@Mando44646 it's like pool but much more complicated. Also the balls and pockets are smaller making it tougher.
@BenAV the problem is it doesn’t have its own icon (at least NA version) Both games share an icon. You have play the game to select which game you want to play X,X-2, or Last Mission. I still haven’t messed around to test if you can use FF X without downloading FF X-2.
Impressive that Spyro and Crash are still in the charts long after release. Obviously it’s not just Nintendo that has evergreen titles!
@mousieone Fair enough. I read other posts saying that it created its own icon when they downloaded it but maybe they did something wrong. Either way though, equally stupid. They should have just done what literally every other company has done when it comes to the half-digital/half-physical releases where they're completely separate games.
@BenAV oh no the whole thing is stupid. When I first got the game it wouldn’t let me play FF X without X-2. I might have done something wrong there :c It’s like a mandatory 13 gig day one update for both games. Which if they had just gone that route would have annoyed people less. But I assumed I’d be able to play FF X-2 without the cart, no bueno. :/ it’s cool because X-2 is literally my favorite, but that’s going to make a lot of people mad.
@Dman10 Keep in mind this is the fifth re release of this collection (counting PS3, PS Vita, PS4 and PC) and some people might want to wait for a price drop or already played it to death
Days Gone should outsell Mortal Kombat 11 in the UK and the rest of Europe.
You guys know that's literally how it was on the Vita too? And all that other versions of the game too. Every version of the remaster has had the same menu to choose from FFX and X-2 so it really should have surprised no one.
Bad pricing, deserves the position its in.
@BenAV So if you sell it off you lose access to both games, but the buyer only gets one? That should restrict almost all resale. I was considering waiting for a low priced used copy just to get X, but I’ll probably just pass.
I don't want to live in a world that would rather buy The Lego Movie Game 2 than FFX/X-2. That's a world with seriously backward priorities.
@BenAV That makes no sense. I am glad I was feeling too lazy to go to the store on launch day. To be fair, I guess the Japanese version doesn't do that, but still.
@Joekun That seems to be the case. You'd just be selling X and would be stuck with an unplayable X-2. So dumb.
@Heavyarms55 Yeah, the Japanese and SEA versions thankfully have both games on the cartridge so there's no issue with those copies.
