@Dakotastomp I was just curious if you have played it since Knack 2 is the single greatest, most addictive game of all time. The game will probably win every major award this year for video games.
@Dakotastomp It will! It will cure the family households of parents not spending enough time with their children! It will revoke and rewind all of the damage done to a young child's mind with the endless fun they have had! Remember those Donkey Kong Country games from back in the 90's?? We got those pulled down too!! It will change everything!
Then hopefully kids will just be playing thought provoking, creative games like Call of Duty instead!
@Spoony_Tech Exactly. It's not necessarily their games as they have great IPs. It's their business practices that are dictating everything. It's like they have been pinching pennies for the last 15 years when all they ever need to do is listen to the GD community.
@AlphaElite To be fair that looks very similar to their actual model:
1- Make "new" game using as many old assets as possible.
2- Introduce "new" innovative mode to lure in the current casuals (battle royale)
3- Remove old features bit by bit
Seriously, I have this conversation with my fiance almost weekly since she plays The Sims. EA is a joke. They show no passion or commitment to actually doing things fairly and just for any of their communities. Then when they do have the option to make a quick buck with Nintendo in this case, they deem it too hard when it's been proven time and time again by virtually every other developer that while it's hard work, it pays off.
I just want them to lose all of their licenses with sports and Star Wars. I want someone to come along and make a true Sims game like what happened with Sim City and City Skylines. I just want them to feel the burn of how they have burned their fans over the years. They ****ing suck.
@WarpSpawn It's honestly the main thing. Just have TV output still. And as much as it could cannibalize sales of the original, I still have a hard time believing that the particular USB-C input on the Switch isn't proprietary considering that a bunch of 3rd party dock options have bjorked some Switches.
Either way, if they had just that as a feature, the main selling point of the Switch, I would have no complaints.
Regardless though, this version is sure to sell extremely fast.
This is about marketing and false advertisement. Everyone knows what a Switch does. But come time for Holiday season, little Jimmy's mother is going to go out to the store, see the price difference and get the cheaper product.
Little Jimmy is then going to open up his gift and realize it doesn't Switch. Then he's going to have a conversation with his mom who will say that 'It's a Switch, it's what you wanted'.
Little Jimmy will now be one of millions of disappointed children including myself whose parents were lead astray by false advertisement.
What an average consumer vs a smart consumer sees in this product is vastly different.
An average consumer will see name and price point.
A smart consumer will see name, price point, and features.
The $100 you're "saving" is actually giving up much more than $100 in worth.
The average consumer in this case has been conned.
Seriously... they really should call it something else. Like I stated on the other article's comment section, the Lite contradicts the first word.
The 2DS vs 3DS was one thing since both names were appropriate representations for what you were purchasing.
But a Switch Lite is NOT A SWITCH!
It has no detachable joycons to switch up the play style. And it has no ability to switch between handheld and tv mode. It does not switch except for the on/off button on top of the console.
I recommend this to no one who currently does not have a Switch and I award Nintendo zero points. May God have mercy on their souls.
@westman98 But this version takes away options for the consumers. The only "new" option for the consumers in this regard is the selling point. This is a smart move on Nintendo's part but a stupid move for any intelligent consumer.
COD will always be at the top of pre-orders because they are constantly innovating with each and every release! Same with EA's Fifa. They are always stellar installments that push the gaming industry towards their standards and trends each and every year. Why do you think GTA now has guns in it after all this time? Or what about those random soccer balls you can kick around in ForkKnife? That's right! It's all Activision (vision is in the name people! They are creative masterminds!!) and EA baby.
So if new comers like Pokemon or Super Maerio ever want to take top spot they need to start introducing these amazing new concepts. Pokemon needs to add guns and a battle royale system to compete with Fifa. And Subpar Mario needs to add exploding soccer balls into its next 4K shoot-em up game.
But seriously... no one will really ever compete with those two companies. Why do you think they're constantly adding more and more studios daily that make amazing games?! Every developer I have ever heard of loves working for those companies because everything they touch is a passion project. The consumers realize this which is why they continue to sell these games after 100 years!
I remember my great-great-great grandfather telling me about the first time he played Call of Duty. Did you know they didn't even have online co-op battle royale air strike multiplayer bazooka joe mad max curly flip achievements back then?! It's crazy how much that franchise alone has changed games.
Good going Activision and EA!!! We are all forever yours!!!
@agent721 Yep... not arguing with your point that the U.S. is huge. Just had a problem with your size comparison of Japan is all.
In regards to wireless internet parity across the board, the speed of light is the real limiting factor that cannot be overcome. Currently when it comes to playing multiplayer games there is already lag called ping. I live in the midwest for example so no matter how good my internet speed is, I have a ping in the 30's to 40's no matter what since the two main servers for games like Fortnite are on the East and West coasts.
So say there are many more servers to combat this per each game, that would eliminate the ping problem. However, you are now dividing up communities of people even further in the nation creating shallower pools of people.
Say you have a friend you want to play with on the East Coast and you're on the West Coast. Never gonna happen. One of you will have a ping in the 80's.
Now take into consideration what streaming is. Even with great internet you will have lag unless people like Google, for instance, set up streaming servers all across the country. And even then, that too will create disparity because it will effectively make smaller and smaller pools of people to play with online.
The best streaming can ever be is say Google sets up a server in L.A. because of course they will. People in L.A., even under horrible internet services, should have a relatively good experience. But the further away you are from that server, the worse and worse input lag and ping you will have.
TL:DR - The speed of light determines whether real-time game streaming fails or not.
This sounds like they're finally doing what I have wanted them to do for a while now. Reorganize the pokedex!
There are way too many horrible pokemon in the game that need to be removed. This sounds like the beginning to doing that going forward! I would not be shocked if every Pokemon from Gen 1 and Gen 2 are able to be brought into this game.
@Baart Ok well I'm sorry. I didn't realize only adults come to this website. But even some adults don't like graphic content like what's depicted. But I'm happy you're find with it.
@TJWorks While the scenery and region all look more polished than what's in Pokemon Let's Go, the character designs are pulled straight from the DS. It's unbelievably jarring. Why they're not at least taking the character models from Let's Go I haven't a clue.
@FX102A You know, I've been thinking about the best way Game Freak could do a full on demo of an open-world style game play akin to how the world is in the anime. My original idea has to do with just four pokemon: Kakuna, Pidgey, Beedrill, and Pikachu.
You're walking through the end of a massive field when you find the edge to Viridian Forrest. You find a Pidgey that finally lands in front of you that you want to catch and sneak up behind it. However, when you throw your pokeball you use too much strength accidentally throwing it near a tree where a batch of Kakuna are hibernating. You accidentally hit one, startling the entire bunch. They evolve into Beedrill and start chasing you.
Using Pikachu just like in the anime, you have him use thundershock on them to make your break.
But doing just a Safari Zone demo would be the most ideal. It would be a rather small region but still big enough to have a small forest, open grasslands and water. You could show off demos of throwing balls, rocks, and using a fishing rod. The cool thing with the fishing rod would be timing. You finally hook something after a few minutes of patience. As you're reeling it in, it suddenly leaps out of the water and into the air. You notice it's a Dratini. You quickly grab a pokeball off of your belt and toss it for a chance to catch it.
@Anti-Matter If you're referencing the end of the initial trailer, that wasn't soccer. That was an actual Pokemon League. It's the only thing I'm actually hyped about with this game right now.
Kinda had a feeling this gen was going to be a let-down. But at the same time I understand why they're taking the easy way out.
I just have so many ideas that would take the Pokemon series to the next level that would just blow everyone's minds. And then I see Game Freak not taking chances with this game unlike what they did with Let's Go. It's just a little disheartening.
If their next game isn't truly game changing, I will be giving up on this series once again. Game Freak is leaving way too much potential untapped. And for a series like Pokemon, that's a shame.
@Realnoize I agree. The prices are absolutely nuts. Just trying to help out from one Rock Band player to another. Hopefully those prices eventually drop down and you're able to rock again one day!
@Realnoize There's a jaguar bundle (which I strongly recommend) on ebay for $180. If you had a big library of music, that price is definitely worth it! Also, finding mics are super easy too. Finding drums for the Xbox would be the only big hurdle.

@ozwally Very true ozzy! It's a new condition that only applies to games like Fortnite! Things like this have never existed until 2019.
Please join our petition that I posted above so that we can get this horrendous abomination on our society removed for good!

EA: Frostbite is needed for soccer on Switch. It is superior engine.
EA: We need to water down to get to work on inferior Switch.
Epic: Unreal engine 4 works perfectly
Bethesda: Creation engine works perfectly
CD Projekt RED: REDengine works perfectly
EA: People prefer to play our watered down game on other platforms. Work is hard. We love money but only when eazy.
Re: Switch Owners Choose To Play EA Games On Other Platforms, Says Company CEO
EA: Do Nintendo Switch owners want gamez?!
NS owners: Sure give us sports
EA: Here's soccer.
NS owners: But it's not as go__
EA: It sold poorly. People play our games elsewhere. Goodbye.

@WarpSpawn Yeah in the video. The average consumer doesn't watch these videos. They will either just see a 30 second ad on TV or nothing at all.
And I wouldn't say they're banking on it. They just should have titled it something else. Calling it a Switch is like me calling my phone a Switch.
But I get it.... it's all branding as it plays the same games*. It would potentially be more confusing the other way around. But still...
*this system will not support all Switch games

The "Switch" Lite is like an iPhone version of the Switch.
No rumble.
No gyro.
No joycons.
No sensors.
Smaller screen.
No tv support.
.... Actually I take that back. iPhone's can connect to tv's and also have gyro.
The "Switch" Lite is like an iPod version of the Switch.
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch vs Nintendo Switch Lite: What Are The Differences?
TL;DR version
One is a Switch. The other looks like a Switch.
You're welcome.

Lite - the word used to contradict the first word in the name
It's equivalent to the try it before you buy it!
To anyone who doesn't already have an actual Switch, I will not be recommending this piece of hardware to any of them.
When the Pro version drops however...

Re: You Can Start Building Your Nintendo Account Family Group Ahead Of The Switch Online Launch
@NintendoPete They did. Here's their answer. You're not going to like it.
Question: If someone buys an individual membership, can other users on the same Nintendo Switch system use that Nintendo Switch Online membership?
Answer: Individual memberships can only be used by the Nintendo Account holder who purchased the membership.
However, you can share the Nintendo Switch Online features across all the Nintendo Accounts in a family group by purchasing a family membership.
Re: You Can Start Building Your Nintendo Account Family Group Ahead Of The Switch Online Launch
