The best part is they're charging full price for these cloud games. The worst part is there are Switch owners who would buy these games. Many such cases.
Good on Nintendo, that Metroid Dread/BOTW 2 announcement was most welcome. At least it wasn't a disaster like the Take-Two E3 conference where they revealed no games and it was just a bunch of out-of-touch boomers talking about "muh diversity and equity".
Wish Nintendo would've given a small spot for Fuga: Melodies of Steel though.
@Spiders
I rephrase. Their gameplay doesn't match the rest of their visual quality. The gameplay is mobile-tier and it really shows with their later Shantae games. A few of their games are hits (Double Dragon Neon, Contra 4) but most of their games are shovelware at worst and average at best. To think the Silent Hill game they made for PS Vita was a Diablo clone, that was beyond dumb.
@Teksetter Yeah, the licensing is a real pain to work around. It's a real nightmare outside Southeast Asia, it's a surprise SD Gundam Cross Rays is even available outside that region. But the bigger sin is Bamco not releasing Gundam Breaker 3: Break Edition on PC/Switch (something to do with the middleware tools not being compatible or something). The game they decided to release in the West (New Gundam Breaker) was a real travesty of a GB game. As far as LiS goes, the devs' first game was Remember Me. Got for free on PS+, couldn't push myself to finish it. Had nice art direction, environments, and music. Everything else from the main character, the gameplay, and the story were just lackluster at best. Game sold poorly and they went bankrupt ("judicial reorganization" as they called), came back and made LiS. I wouldn't call it a game, more like a Telltale series style game but without any action in it. And features alot of the same problems as Remember Me and, to some extent, the Twilight series. But that's just me, you might like it more than I did (I did not).
I keep seeing Genshin Impact comparisons everywhere I go and it's hilarious that that's the game it's supposed to be competing against, even though they're two completely different gaming experiences. I think they'll call it The Legend of Zelda: Caves and Skies - A Breath of the Wild Story.
@Teksetter I mean hey, don't let me stop you. If cheap discount Beyond: Two Souls with cheesy voice acting is your thing, who am I to judge? After all, I played Mars: War Logs and thought it was alright despite the cheesy voice acting and the jank of a Pirahna Bytes game.
@Spiders The worst part about this announcement is Nintendo handing AW off to a trash studio that makes mobile-tier games, it's a surprise Shantae isn't in Smash considering the work Nintendo gives them I guess.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtFF2YTaix8 Nintendo of Japan revealed a new Super Robot Wars game for the Switch. We get a boring walking simulator (game shown in article). They get a cool mech game instead.
Not like most people are missing much with these upcharged flash games and indies that're available on every other platform (all of them pretty much archived and accessible on the web if they're pulled from sale). Soon they'll start doing $70 """limited""" to keep on milking the collectors.
@Mynameishello InifnityMiner is a Minecraft plug-in, not a game. I assume you're referring to Infiniminer. Yeah, it did come before MC. However, there were no commercially-successful games based on IM before MC came out. Not even LEGO games are as commercially-successful as MC was. MC and IM are two completely different games. IM is only a mining game, whereas MC is more of a survival LEGO game with multiplayer. MC paved the way for other successful games that draw inspiration from it. Like Terraria, Space Engineers, Starbound etc. Minecraft is a well-crafted, revolutionary game the world had not seen before and to think otherwise is contrarian.
@diwdiws Haven't touched 2/3 since 2014, and this was back when I could only run the game on low/medium settings and the frame-rate varied between 40-50 max. My current system would have no problem running any of those games on maximum settings, I have no reason to redownload them again.
A PC release would fix all the performance issues related with this game. Different game (Daemon x Machina), but the leap from Switch to PC was quite significant.
Crysis 2/3, the games that are a showcase of everything attempting realistic hi-fidelity graphics results in diminishing returns. You still have games releasing today that can barely match what these games achieved a decade ago.
@ok1 I wouldn't call my system beefy. Ryzen 3 3100 and RX580 are mid-range, 1080p is where it's best suited. Most servers tend to be performance-optimized.
@FlaviusFire I've looked at Minecraft RTX, the shaders that're available in Java do a great job without taxing the system much. SEUS and Vertigo look good, but there are many shaders available depending on which you like more.
Guess now would be a good time to mention that Klotzzilla/Shadowpelt/Carnival-Tricks (NSFW/ABDL artist) sells recolored Pokemon OCs for $30+. Typhlosions, Goodra, and Lucario last I checked.
They could've released Gundam Breaker 3: Break Edition to PC/Switch instead of leaving it on PS4/Vita. If GB4 is anything like "New Gundam Breaker" then it's DOA.

@ok1 My little brother plays it on Switch and I noticed how long it takes to boot up. And the times it frequently crashes.
Minecraft being written in Java and not C#, it sucks. But that's about the only thing Bedrock has the advantage of; not being coded in Java.
Re: Minecraft's Caves And Cliffs Update Gets Split Into Two Parts
Is non-Java Minecraft any good? The last time I looked at it, it took forever to load and you have to restart the system to close it.

Re: Review: Balan Wonderworld - A Charmless, Confusing Fossil From The Creators Of Sonic
I JUST HAD ONE CHANCE, I DON’T KNOW WHY
IT DOESN’T EVEN MATTER HOW HARD YOU CRY
KEEP THAT IN MIND I DESIGNED THIS GAME WITH COSTUMES IN MIND
THAT’S ALL I KNOW
GRAPHICS AND FRAMERATE ARE KEY
WATCH IT FLY BY AS THE SWITCH VERSION BLEEDS
WATCH THE CLOCK FLY TO THE END OF THE DAY
THE BATTERY TICKS AWAY
IT’S ON UNREAL?
SHOULD’VE LOOKED OUT BELOW
THREW RPGS RIGHT OUT THE WINDOW
TRYING TO HOLD ON, BET YOU DIDN’T EVEN KNOW
ABOUT THE SEIZURE INDUCING BOSS
I KEPT EVERYTHING INSIDE AND EVEN THOUGH I TRIED
IT ALL FELL APART
WHAT IT MEANT TO ME WILL EVENTUALLY
BE A MEMORY OF A TIME WHEN
I TRIED SO HARD TO BRING BACK NIGHTS
BUT IN THE END, IT’S JUST A S*** GAME
I TRIED TO RUN, BUT ONLY JUMPED
IN THE END, IT’S JUST A S*** GAME
