Merry Christmas! Also big thankyou to Tom for your input into NL, you will be missed; best of luck with your new adventure! Bring on 2018 for more Switch goodness
It would be good to see the NL site implement community reviews section, where a review could be given in 100 words or less, short and to the point. This could help with the 20 or so games that are released each week, helping to gauge if the game is good for purchase or not.
i once downloaded minecraft on the iPad and couldn't see the appeal in the game. When it was released on the switch, i gave it another go; but this time went through the tutorial. Now i'm having a blast, building my mansion with uber farming skills and slowly exploring the dangerous overworld. Its been amazing on the switch to team up with 8 others helping each other in survival mode - using discord for chat/audio makes a world of difference and so much more fun too.
i still have my 3DS XL and its in great condition still, but i have no need to buy another DS. I actually do more gaming on the go with the switch then the 3DS too - especially with MK8D.
a patch is incoming, the developer posted a video on reddit, which shows huge improvement to the game. I hope this review is updated once the patch is released
i died about 20 times and almost completed the island, except i mixed up the orbs, taking the one from koholit and dropping down the side to a bottom platform, which meant i couldn't get any other orb back up onto the rock :/ Then i tried the dropping a few weapons whilst in the water glitch, so i was able to start the island with a few good weapons and finally got through. But afterwards i feel i cheated myself, i would rather have the more difficult challenge and sense of accomplishment, then a quick victory.
i was looking forward to this since the first announcement, but sadly Nintendo has my switch for repairs atm and it looks like i won't get it back till late next week
I don't mind paying $10 more for a physical release of a game, more so as the switch does have limited storage atm, though i have a 64gb micro SDXC as well. But I'm only using the extra storage for Nindies shop purchases, any game that is larger than 2GB and has a available physical release - will be the one ill purchase. Until SDXC have the capacities in the future for 500GB+ then ill looking towards physical game purchases, rather then eshop.
Yeah thats my concern also, as the switch can get quite warm after extended play. Hopefully soon Nintendo can give an updated response on the issue from feedback provided.

Re: Nintendo Announces Super Mario Remasters And Much More In Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct
Looks like on the Switch Lite, you will need extra joy cons to play.
"If playing on Nintendo Switch Lite, detached Joy-Con controllers are required and sold separately. See support.nintendo.com/switch/play for details."
