@awesomeunclet Thanks! That worked great! I'm super excited for the DLC. Too bad the Animal Crossing DLC isn't released until May 2015! That seems so far away!
I went on to the eShop and downloaded the new Kart DLC, and it tells me that in order to install it I need to start Mario Kart 8. When I do the game starts, but the install never kicks in. I go into the game and the new Mercedes-Benz karts don't show up. Any ideas?
Nintendo games like 3D World always have long legs. Knack will probably just be a flash in the pan. Selling well while PS4 owners have nothing better to play.
The one thing Nintendo is missing (and I know it's been said many times before) is marketing. Part of the reason the Wii sold so well? The "Wii Would Like To Play" commercials I saw all the time on the TV and at the movie theater. How many commercials have I seen in total since the release of the Wii-U? 2. Yes, 2. That includes TV, Movie theater, and Online Pre-roll videos. That's not a good sign. How will anyone buy it if they have never heard of it?
I've always had a soft spot for Star Fox. I own every game. I feel that the only game that really had a misstep was Star Fox Assault on GameCube. I think the actual concept was fine, on-rail shooter mixed with 3rd-person action game, but the 3rd-person part of the game was really clunky. Imagine if they remade the game (or a game similar to it) using all of the 3rd-person controls that have been refined today.
I really do love my WiiU, but if I were completely honest with myself, the only time I really use it is for off-screen play; Otherwise I am using the pro-controller or Wii Remote and Nunchuck. At the same time, I don't think a "Wii2" would have sold any better than the WiiU with the gamepad. I actually think it would sell less, since most people would think "been there done that". In a way I feel that the WiiU is what the Wii should have been all those years ago.
I think this generation the WiiU will only be used for Nintendo exclusives and indie games. Every single game on Kickstater seems to be coming to WiiU and PC (they never mention PS4 or XBoxOne). It just means I will need a second system.... again.
For everyone wondering what else he demoed on video game week: Monday - XboxOne Game: Killer Instinct Tuesday - Playstation 4 Game: Knack Wednesday - Watch Dogs Thursday - Call of Duty Ghost Friday - WiiU
And to answer your second question: "Yes. He looked just as awkward playing the other systems as well...
I am happy with Nintendo's current DLC plans, like what they are doing with Super Luigi U for NSMBU. They use the assets already on the disc to create an entirely new 2nd play through. That way they keep it fresh and familiar at the same time!
To me, after watching the Nintendo Direct a second time and watching the Developer Diaries, I feel Nintendo has a great showing. For the rest of the year we have Game&Wario soon, Pikmin 3 in August, Wonderful 101 in September, Wind Waker HD in Octoner, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and WiiFitU in November, and Mario 3D World in December. That sounds like a decent line up to me, and that doesn't include eShop titles or what's announced for 2014 (Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros.) The only thing missing is 3rd party support to fill in the gaps.
I don't care about Sports games at all, but there is honestly NO reason this isn't coming to WiiU (I am mainly saying this because WiiU needs more games and more support, no matter what it is). If it's coming to X1, PS4, X360, and PS3 they obviously have an engine that will run it. And they can't blame it on current install base, since with X1 and PS4 they are technically making a game for systems with an install base of 0. I just don't understand why the gaming industry sees Nintendo as this "black sheep" they want nothing to do with...
@DerpSandwich Do you have a WiiU? My NintendoID is Jamester0722 (anyone reading this that would like to add me as a friend on WiiU, go ahead. The more the merrier!)
This is a good week. I have an interview for a new job Thursday, I'm buying my first Animal Crossing game Sunday, and I am taking vacation days Monday and Tuesday to watch e3! I'm ready for the end of the week!
Watching the "crowdfater" trailer actually makes me want to buy this game now. I've loved all past WarioWare games, but until now this one wasn't really on my radar.
@SpaceKappa I completely agree. I had to send my WiiU in for repair recently and I was terrified that I was going to lose everything (luckily everything came back intact).
Many of you are saying that you don't care if EA makes games for Nintendo or not. I understand your frustration, but you need to look at the bigger picture. If a family has a choice between a WiiU or PS4/NextBox, their entire decision may depend on if they can play the newest Madden, because their son loves football. The only way to get more systems sold (which in turn will get more games on the system) is to have a wider variety of games. A bigger net catches more fish, am I right?
Grand Theft Auto IV was really good. I would definitely buy V on WiiU. I want to buy as many multiplatform games as possible on my WiiU to show my support of 3rd Parties on Nintendo Hardware.
I think not having EA's support is a big issue. For people that only buy one system, WiiU wouldn't be the choice. People love their FIFA, Madden, and Tiger Woods. I have a feeling that WiiU will be just like the Wii; someone's "second system".

I'm super excited for Hyrule Warriors. I preordered from Amazon for the Twilight Princess costumes.
Re: Feature: Introducing The New Challengers in Super Smash Bros.
From the poll results, I'm assuming I'm the only person actually excited to play as The Villager from Animal Crossing...

Re: Preview: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
I really want to get this game, but at the same time I am trying to save for a next-gen console. What to do? What to do?
Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Confirmed for the West
What are the odds this will come to WiiU? I will buy it regardless, but I would much rather play it on my TV than on a small handheld.
Re: Monster Hunter 4 G Due In Autumn / Fall This Year
Bring it to America already! Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for WiiU was my first taste of MH. Now I LOVE the series. I can hardly wait for the next one!
