Re: Nintendo Confirms E3 2012 Press Conference Date & Time

James

Everyone who asked if we'll be covering it — yes, of course! We love doing E3. Corbie's down to attend the press conference and Ant, Tom, Mike and I will all be contributing news, features, live content and media throughout the show. It's going to be awesome

Re: Wii U Designed to Do The Impossible

James

@XyVoX This is something we'll have to wait and find out I'm afraid. My gut instinct is we'll see a similar split between 1080p and 720p — I'd imagine most Nintendo games will be 1080, most third-parties 720p, particularly multi-format games.

Re: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Hits 3DS

James

@TheNintendOtaku I can help you with that.

@CyberNature Don't get me wrong, if this came out on the same day as a new Panzer/Skies I'd buy them over this, but I'll take what I can get. JSR is coming to PSN and XBLA and there's Crimson Dragon for Kinect that's basically a new Panzer Dragoon. Both will get my money, and the second one's not even published by SEGA. (I already have Skies and every Panzer game, so no need for rereleases for me.)

Thanks for calling me gullible, though!

Re: Really, That's Just a Sticker on the Wii U Controller

James

Wii Remote will be the same as on Wii, so will use AA batteries. Really though every semi-serious Wii owner should have a rechargeable battery kit for Wiimotes by now!

And the Wii U controller has a rechargeable internal battery, of course

@Byuu Cool, maybe it's only the smaller teams working with wired kits or they're being rolled out slowly? Makes sense you guys would get them first

Re: Rayman Legends is Coming to Wii U, Supports NFC

James

@3dbrains Because Ubisoft develops games on development controllers — it's a Ubisoft-created trailer, not a Nintendo one, so it's using what the company has on hand. And trust me — developers use their controllers wired. Not saying that won't be the finished cable, just saying this is a development controller and not finalised retail hardware.

Re: Talking Point: A Big Year for Nintendo

James

@stealth Taken from Nintendo's own statistics — checked them myself, they are correct. And you're right, DS had a slow start and didn't really take off until DS Lite, but crucially Nintendo made money on every DS sold.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 to Kick Off Retail Downloads

James

@grumblebuzzz Mr Iwata cites the example of Animal Crossing, where it'd be great to have it on your Home Menu all the time instead of switching carts. Anyway, they'll likely be cheaper to buy online — I envision online retailers like Amazon and Play getting on this bandwagon, as they're just generating 16-digit codes. I know that GAME and Gamestation in the UK have been doing something similar with PSN and XBLA for a long time with considerable success.
