Europe wants this very much, but Natsume doesn't publish games over here. Hopefully Rising Star will bring this over but at the moment Europe's looking at A Tale of Two Towns as its next HM game
"We're very excited to be announcing Harvest Moon: A New Beginning for the Nintendo 3DS! HM: ANB will be making its debut during E3, June 5th to 7th, where first screens and game play details will be revealed."
@PixelatedPixie Must be honest and say I haven't noticed those particular physics quirks! The water was a bit funky but other than that things seemed okay to me, apart from objects not bouncing of course.
Pushmo set the 3DS puzzle game bar pretty high. This is more expensive and doesn't have quite as much content, but it's still a damn good puzzle game, hence the 8.
I expect it'll be Harvest Moon: First Earth — in Japan Marvelous AQL is releasing a commemorative artbook with pictures from the series' history, so this is (probably) definitely the game. Book would be nice too, please.
For me, Wii Remote + Nunchuk is the best combination. Incredibly comfortable — I can play with my arms crossed! — and wireless too. Second best is GameCube, I suppose.
@Mercury9 Not at all! You're entitled to your opinion, though thinking less of me for mine is a little disappointing. I get that you're not a fan of the Kickstarter concept, but it's a shame you look down on those who want to support projects they're interested in. Remember these people get something back in return — a game. It's not like Pwnee is taking their money and using it to buy a giant coffee machine or something. All Kickstarter does is take the "customer pays for product" part of the sales transaction and move it earlier in the process — nobody loses anything. Game gets made, people who backed the project get the game, people who didn't back it get to buy the game. Seems a square deal to me!
@Mercury9 But if you were making food for others, you might expect them to chip in, right? You wouldn't spend your money on making food for everyone else and give it away entirely free.
Anyway, in my eyes all this does is move the "customer pays money" part of the transaction a bit nearer the beginning instead of at the end of a game's development. S'all good.
@Slapshot Vita isn't doing that well in the UK — it's at around 100,000 sales, about one-third of PSP's sales at this point in its lifespan. Of course the two launched at totally different times — PSP landed in September, Vita in February — but still, there it is.
@Mercury9 Depends where you go. I went to Manchester at the weekend during the Bupa Great Manchester Run and got two StreetPass hits — one of whom was @Mason when we met for Mario Tennis! — but can get half a dozen at Gamestation.
Thanks for your amazing comments everyone — loved reading them.
As you know, we like to ask interesting questions here and let you guys talk it out in the comments. We rarely say "this must happen!" but we like to say "well, how about this?" to kick-start discussion. You never let us down when it comes to the comments, so you have my honest thanks!
@Applejacklove Yes, we'll be doing a live text of the conference as well as uploading new screens, videos and announcements as news articles as we get them. It's going to be a great show
RE: Australian time — duly noted! Appended time sheet coming soon.
Updated article with time of press conference, so it's all here.
@kyuubikid123 I really appreciate that! Was getting worried everyone would be busy watching it off-site and not actually coming here to talk about it. Hope that's not the case!
@3dbrains Canberra is the capital of Australia.
Australians — what's a better city for me to use to represent time zones?
@Djrr-ific We're not comparing sales figures, but sales trends — 3DS has outsold DS in America, but not in the UK. Those comparisons are fair.
Nintendo breaks sales down into three territories: Japan, The Americas and Others, so it's hard to get precise sales figures for Europe. Will investigate though.
@Ducutzu The press release says the Wii U release date will be announced at a later date. There are rumours it'll have a period of exclusivity on Wii U, but we'll see

Re: Metro: Last Light No Longer Confirmed for Wii U
@Demonic Yep, like practically all the third-party games last year, it was PS3, 360 or PC footage.
Re: Feature: The Full E3 2012 Schedule
@PikminMonster You're in the UK, right? Microsoft is 5pm Monday, Sony is 2am Tuesday morning.
Re: Havok VP: Range of Wii U Titles Will Get Gamers 'Genuinely Excited'
@rjejr I wonder too, as surely tech specs will just lead to price speculation? Will be interesting to see though.
Re: Donkey Kong Champion Improves His World Record
@Hank_Chien I thought 1.5m was optimistic! Congrats on breaking the record again though — planning to take a break and let the other guys catch up?

@Nin-freak Good spot! Rectified now

Re: Feature: The Best Moments of E3 2011
@famestephy09 Wii U is a brand new console. No Wii is required
Re: Feature: The Best Moments of E3 2011
Just gave away the fact I wrote this last week
Re: Natsume Teases Announcement of 'Celebration' Game

Re: Pledge to Cloudberry Kingdom, Get It Free on Wii U
Considering the amount I write, three titles in three weeks isn't so bad

Re: Support Redux: Dark Matters Kickstarter and it Could Come to 3DS
Kickstarter makes Marmite look like our best bet for unifying all the world's people.
Re: Pledge to Cloudberry Kingdom, Get It Free on Wii U
@rjejr How did I know it'd be my fault?
Re: Feature: The Evolution of Nintendo's Controllers
@wing0black You betcha

Re: Pledge to Cloudberry Kingdom, Get It Free on Wii U
@Mercury9 If they didn't before, they do now
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th May 2012 (North America)
@pastasauce the eShop updates in about 2 1/2 hours so it's not available just yet

Re: Pledge to Cloudberry Kingdom, Get It Free on Wii U
@Mercury9 Of course. If they were willing, what's the problem? People can do what they want with their own money.
Re: Pledge to Cloudberry Kingdom, Get It Free on Wii U
@Mercury9 Comparing game making to famine? Stay classy.
Kickstarter might not be for you, but I imagine if you wanted to raise $20,000 to make a dream come true it might look a little more appetising!

@Mercury9 Please explain how you're paying for it twice if you get a copy when you make a donation.
Re: Ubisoft to Reveal Wii U Games on 4th June
@WiiLovePeace Nope, the running order is almost always Microsoft -> Sony -> Nintendo.
Re: Ubisoft to Reveal Wii U Games on 4th June
Whoops, seems my time-changing hamsters did their sums wrong. I've had them shot and made into a coat.
Re: Watch E3 Live Online, On TV and On the Go
@InternetBowser I love your username. That is all.
Re: Ubisoft to Reveal Wii U Games on 4th June
@Sony_70 No, that's not right.
Monday is Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Sony (in that order iirc)
Tuesday is Nintendo
Then there are no more press conferences because the actual show floor is open.

Re: Add These Dates and Times to Your E3 Schedule
Hey @famestephy09, allow me to help!
You can watch it on TV on either Spike or MTV 2. You can also watch it live online via http://e3.nintendo.com or Nintendo's official Facebook page.
You're in New York so that's Eastern time — for you, the press conference will start at 12 midday on Tuesday 5th June.
E3 will be lots of news about Wii U but there'll be plenty of 3DS games and announcements made too. Should be fun!
@theword777 I would expect so!

Re: 3DS Nears 1 Million Units Sold in UK
@Kinioka In what ways does Nintendo treat UK as the 'favourite' market?

@EmpireIndustries Yep, live text is back and better than ever this year — watch this space

@rjejr There are certainly big 3DS games to be announced at E3, both from Nintendo and third parties.

Re: 3DS Nears 1 Million Units Sold in UK
Life to date 3DS sales up until 31st March:
Japan: 5,850,000
The Americas: 5,990,000
Rest of World: 5,290,000
Total: 17,130,000
Re: Add These Dates and Times to Your E3 Schedule
@Zephren Correct. 9am PDT = midday Eastern.
You guys will all be on here keeping me company, right? We have some very cool stuff planned.

@Aviator Because it's the only city in Australia anyone outside of Australia knows.

Re: Nintendo Download: 24th May 2012 (Europe)
@Jamix012 Nope, our original review stands. The fact you're getting more of the game for free is a bonus really
Also (and I hate to say this) I agree with lz — create a folder for completed games and hide them in there instead of deleting them
