Re: No Switch 2 "Upgrade Path" For Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Planned

Jam78

I remember this during the PS4/PS5 cross gen to try and cut off people buying the cheaper older versions but equally they could just charge for the upgrade. But maybe they just don't want to have to create an upgrade patch it's extra work when you could just say buy the game for the system you own which is fair I think.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Removal Of Switch Online SNES Game

Jam78

Cue entitled gamers I deserve to be able to play any game I want and if you don't let me i will steal it. Preservation is what pirates hide behind your not entitled to access to games you don't own regardless of how old they are but you should be able have access to games you do own for your lifetime.

Re: Shuntaro Furukawa: Switch Successor Will Utilise The 'Nintendo Account' System

Jam78

@EVIL-C Of course if you buy the preferred way you will get more of a perk much like perks you get for any kind of shopping. I don't think you should get points for a second hand game if they have been claimed. I have had a second hand game give me the points.they did give points for Advanced wars re boot due to that expired. but that was more of an exception i don't think they have make them available forever. I remember the free digital copies of films you got with dvds and Blu rays would also expire.

Re: Shuntaro Furukawa: Switch Successor Will Utilise The 'Nintendo Account' System

Jam78

I hate to break it to all these people all this proves is the digital purchases may move over. it doesn't mean Physical games will. they may ditch Physical media this time owing to the way you can not trust that people will get there grubby little mits on them prior to launch. We shall see i do not really care either way i will still buy it, i am looking to play new games not old ones.

Re: Twitter Users Rally For Young Cancer Patient Who Dreams Of Playing Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Jam78

Its sad i have known people die of cancer family member and friend. Its true Nintendo and others have done this before, but I'd like to know if they wanted to or pressure of bad press is why they do it.

I wonder if i and anyone else can ask for early access as there are no guarantees that any of us will be around by the time the game releases.

Im not a fan of this practice of jumping on to twitter to pressure companies, contact the company directly and see what happens im sure they aren't totaly souless and will do something.

Re: Former Nintendo Employee Admits He's Frustrated With Switch Online

Jam78

Switch online is just there because xbox and sony have a service gamers expected nintendo to do the same. So they cobbled something together slapped a badge on it and said there you go. Much like now when Sony introduced there new tiered service people expected day 1 releases, which obviously Sony doesn't have to the same as xbox.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Online, Game Pass, And 'New' PS Plus - How Do They Compare?

Jam78

My switch online, ps plus both lapse in April and im not planning to renew. To be honest im getting a bit sick of subscription services. Think im going to stick with the one off price hit of a game over the slow drain of a subscription service.

I used the Nes and snes apps a couple of times and deleted them and added a mountain of ps plus games i never downloaded and im not much of an online gamer so for me personally makes no sense to keep. I own the original xbox but after that microsoft consoles have never appealed to me.

Re: Nintendo's Wii Shop Channel Can't Be Accessed Right Now

Jam78

@victordamazio people are quick to forget how steam was intially drm and didn't allow offline play of physical games. I remember buying my shiny new copy of half life 2 and having to install steam to play my physical game. Of course its better now they allow offline play but all PC games are tied to store/launcher.

Re: YouTube Is Hiding The Dislike Count, Good News For Switch Online's Video Team

Jam78

Nintendo doesn't care about the the video dislikes, i seen far to many people mention about the like/dislike ratio on the online expansion like its a big deal, when in reality its a minority of switch users who bother to do it and not all 90 million users bother with youtube at all. Alot of content creators actively request you to like and dislike because it helps them out.

Re: The Switch Is Here To Stay, Says Nintendo Boss Shuntaro Furukawa

Jam78

@chiimaero number of times i have walked by a house in the uk at least, with a laughable oversized tv in there living room. Most people haven't got the room to make anything 4k maybe but certainly 8k an above make a difference. I know there will be few out there with apparent magical eyes who will say different. But most uk homes a pretty small and 8k and above are getting to wall sized screens to make it really worthwhile.

Re: Nintendo's Switch Exclusive Metroid Dread Is Already Being Emulated On PC

Jam78

This such a dodgy subject emulation is fine but roms are a grey area, theres always the we don't promote piracy from the creators of these emulators when everyone knows most will pirate.

Backups are another cop out as backing something up incase something goes wrong thats fine, but using that so called backup to play on another none nintendo device is stretching it.

I maybe forgiving older games but brand new released games i think its a bit much. Gaming is a privilege not a right, Nintendo have a way for you to play there games so if your unwilling buy it then you don't have a right to it.

I can kinda understand the reasons for some of there older games they don't make available but brand new games there is no excuse you don't need to emulate the new ones as they give you a way to play, the argument for older games has always been if Nintendo themselves supplied the means to play them then people wouldn't pirate them.

That logic means there is no need for there to be Switch emulators in the first place. They supply the means to play the games yet people still use emulators and pirate its kinda hypocrisy at its finest.

Re: Talking Point: E3 Leaks Are Inevitable, But Do You Actually Want To Know?

Jam78

It can spoil things, but take nintendo leaking rabbids before the ubiforward, having now watched that event it was more of a great help. As i personally would of turned off within the first 5 to 10 minutes, maybe ubisoft knew theirs was a load of old tripe. and got nintendo to leak it prior to the event to get the views.

Re: Review: World's End Club - A Real Looker Spoiled By Hit-And-Miss Storytelling

Jam78

I really enjoyed this game, well i would say more Anime visual novel with light fiddly gameplay. Couple of boss fights and i really really enjoyed the characters and the twist and turns of the story. Its no shakespear but no game is but its better than most. I paid less than 35 for my copy so shop around. Completey disagree with the reviewer regarding the story, definitely a matter of taste game i guess.

Re: OLED Display Firm Mentions 'Switch Pro' During Its Q1 Investors Call

Jam78

@Jokerwolf They may well have a pro version coming, the Wii was less powerful than the competition from release and they never upgraded that. Granted it didn't have all the games but also sold like crazy regardless. I think Nintendo least powerful consoles have sold better than the ones that had power. Ultimately we will find out are these leaks to do with a pro or a switch 2 further down the line. Nintendo still say the current model is half way through its life cycle so whether that includes an upgrade we shall find out. Like the 3DS i think it will be a small upgrade (assuming there is one) and the bells and whistles will come with switch 2
