Speaking of updates. I brought my Wii U to college today to play some older stuff with my friends between classes. Since I heard they die if not played often. Plus, I was gonna round up a few last eShop games. It was working fine, then I went to check for an update and updated it… now its not fine. It freezes a few seconds after every boot up now. I can’t even get to the system settings fast enough to try to reformat the thing. I’m now in the dead Wii U club. I’ll call that an instability update.

Now I’ll be nervous about every Switch update.

I can't take my switch out of its dock no more, it's that stable!

At this point Nintendo should make a Nintendo Direct focusing on 20 Mins of Stability, instead of focusing on Nintendo Switch announcements.

I used to dock my switch in a room in my house. Now my switch is so stable, I have my house docked in the switch.

I only read these articles for the stability jokes. And I'm therefore never disappointed 👍

Thank god, my Switch was causing earthquakes on a daily basis, it really needed more stability.

I just done the update and instead of receiving stability, I think it's broke the B button on my Pro controller. The button itself doesn't seem to be the problem because it sometimes registers it but with a long delay.

What the hell!

Edit: I've tried restarting console, updating controllers, resynching the controller. Still the same. When I go to test input devices, I hit BAXY and it shows that I hit AXYB. So a delay. I don't have any Bluetooth devices on either.

It really seems like the update has messed up my controller. It was working fine just before it.

Mine updated to the, "Switch Pro 2.0 series N". And it did my taxes so it's ok.

@w00dm4n My experience suggests no, it is not safe.

I was gonna make a joke about how stable my Switch is, but I noticed my Game Boy NSO app was also updated for some reason. Nothing apparently changed.

....Should've been version 17.0, this was a massive update.

@OorWullie that sucks..the same happens to me from time to time with my bluetooth earbuds, where all of a sudden theres a big delay in the sound. In my case though i reconnect them and it fixes, hope it gets resolved soon for you..

I didn't update so that means i'm living with some unstable device in the house ... i hope i get past tonight safely.

@OorWullie that’s not good, hope you get a solution soon. I was using my pro controller yesterday, haven’t updated yet, getting ready for work.

At last, a long overdue stability update!

I wouldn't expect any major firmware updates and just stability one's. I imagine they will keep the Switch ticking over till the release of the next Console.

My Switch is now so stable, It would not even fall over is a tornado passed it.. although the new OLED stand is helping matters somewhat.

Still waiting for that update for theme like the 3ds has

@dartmonkey There has been a change, unfortunately not a good one. It's now dead as a dodo. Can't even charge the thing. If it's not related to the update, the timing is beyond belief. The beginning of its end must have began as the console was restarting from the update.

@AmplifyMJ The solution seems to be having to buy a new one. It's now packed in completely. Gutted I am. I've probably held that thing in my hands more than any other device over my life. It's has a good innings.

@AmplifyMJ @dartmonkey And would you believe, the controller has risen from its grave. After I turned the console on and started mashing some buttons, the little charging light came on and it works.... except for the B button, which now has an even longer delay. I just counted 15 seconds before my press registered.

It's also randomly searching for a device to sync to without any interaction.

Really weird stuff.

eShop seems less laggy...finally

I bought a horse because my switch is now stable.

Thought I smelled a stable.

Just checked - there's no themes, folders, or option to select your own music. What is the point of this console? Games on console are all fair and good, but mainly I just stare at the home screen. If we had themes, folders and an option to select your own music I wouldnt even need to play any more games.

This morning my cat jumped up onto the table and knocked into the switch. The switch didn’t even budge and the cat fell over!

In another 1-2 years, this is going to be one heck of a stable-a$$ system - I can sense it... Meanwhile, the Switch e-shop is heading in the polar opposite direction - amazing!
