"I wouldn't have batted an eye on" But as you said you were suggesting that you would have brought it your if you hadn't "seen all that it has to offer on stream", which doesn't make sense because you weren't playing the gameplay yourself.

@Nintendo_Thumb
But it isn't "copying" or trying to be "like Jet Set Radio" though, this is straight up ripping-off. (E.G. Notice the same art style)
I guess a majority of people have become either numb or embraced the fact there's nothing creative coming out (being force fed remakes, reboots, knock-offs) of the media industry (Videogames as well as Movies/TV).
I'm not going to dignify your thinking that I have something against genres (or something) with an actual response, because that was absolutely ridiculous.

Re: Jet Set Radio's Legacy Lives On In This Official Trailer For Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

@glaemay Okay, tell me what these "stupid" reasons are then.
@tabris95 You make a good point and I admit that the main industry has been this (especially with Nintendo). The indie industry however really shouldn't be, for starters they are not held back by executives or mandates so they don't have to follow a bunch of rules when developing. They're literally free to develop anything they want. So the only reason they are copying the same formula of another successful indie is because it's guaranteed to make at least some money.

In summary: All I'm saying is there is so much creative potential being wasted just to make easy money. There could have been some truly modern classics within the indie scene, new legends that could have rivaled the greats like Miyamoto, and a much needed shake-up in the industry as a whole. But by the looks of the replies I'm getting it's not going to get original or creative anytime soon, people are literally throwing money at knock-offs just to fill in their nostalgia voids.

@PhilKenSebben
Just getting tired of indie games as a whole to be honest. If they're not following a generic formula that made a specific indie game great (the likes of FNaF, and Undertale come to mind). Then they're pulling this kind of stunt, ripping off a dead franchise so they can make money on an already established audiences nostalgia.
And Nintendo only made my distaste for indies far worse for putting them on a pedestal for the last 2-3 years so they can twiddle their thumbs, whistling.

I think if I removed the nostalgia glasses aside with Ocarina of Time and get over my pleasant childhood experiences with Wind Waker.
It would boil down to:
1. Majora's Mask (for the Retro category) 2. Link's Awakening (for the Handheld category)
3. A Link to the Past (for the 2D category) 4. Breath of the Wild (for the Modern category)

@Anti-Matter
Apologies, I use "kid" regardless of age. Like I'll use guy, dude, and man regardless of gender; no connotations to it. Just part of being brought up as a slumkid, I guess.
Also nice to know, I actually have more respect for cusual gamers coming out and admitting it, than the usual ranting hardcore ones... x

Re: The 3DS Game Miitopia Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This May

@Rosona
Trust me dude I've been losing faith in Nintendo for quite some time but I'll take what I can get. Call it fanboy loyalty I guess, but I love Nintendo and their games differ from what other companies put out.
But I really agree with what you're saying and desperately hope that they make actual sequels and dust off their IPs that they have been criminally neglecting instead of ports upon ports.

Re: The 3DS Game Miitopia Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This May

Jakiboy

@Rosona
"new actual first party software"
Get with the times guy, the only time we actually get these is when they release a new console (upgrades to an already existing console varies), and it's your standard mainline and a spin-off Mario, mainline Zelda, Smash Bros, and one IP (most likely Animal Crossing) if they're feeling generous. I think we were lucky to get Splatoon 3, to be honest.

Re: The 3DS Game Miitopia Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This May

Jakiboy

I dunno how to feel about this, totally on the fence about getting it.
I already own the original and I admit it is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. However it's a complete downer that this looks like a straight up HD port with some facial features and a horse (what the hell?) thrown in. I was really hyped there would be a sequel where it would be more open world, less linear, some life simulation elements from Tomodachi Life, and new story overall.
Ah well, might still get it. But here's hoping they actually bring out a full on sequel to Tomodachi Life...

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 17th February

Jakiboy

Looks like I'm a little late to say ya'll shouldn't get your hopes up too much. For all we know it could be indie games that are have only 10 minutes of gameplay, more ports (probably 12+ years old too), anime sword fighter #98 or obligatory Fire Emblem character for Smash.

Re: Random: Ariana Grande Sang About Playing Mario Party And Mario Kart

Jakiboy

@Damo
1. Fair enough, I won't regard your journalistic credibility in such high regard in the future.
2. A lot of the comments against Grande isn't about her music, they are about what an awful person she is as a whole.
3. "but why bother clicking to comment to say so?" Because they can? What? You gonna implement some sort of censorship now because you're not liking their comments?
4. "and that includes stuff like this which shows the astonishing cultural reach the company has right now" They always have. Nintendo doesn't need publicity, everybody knows about them and hell they can ship out an officially licensed marmite paste and the whole world would be praising them to the sky and buy a quadrillion batches.

Re: Random: Ariana Grande Sang About Playing Mario Party And Mario Kart

Jakiboy

@UmbreonsPapa
I wasn't talking specifically about Ariana though, I was talking about Nintendo Life pumping out nonsensical articles such as this one nearly everyday.
Anyway, people can "waste their time and energy", seriously what is up with people on this site having a grudge against people with opposing opinions? You don't have to agree with them or like them but it's called freedom of speech after all...

Re: Random: Ariana Grande Sang About Playing Mario Party And Mario Kart

Jakiboy

@Zenszulu
"They can post topics anything they like as long as it is in some way linked to Nintendo or references them."

Laughs in a million Reggie articles despite him retiring from Nintendo years ago and has nothing to do with them anymore
Also I noticed that you ALWAYS defend these articles and parrot the same thing over and over again. People are going to have different opinions about this and a majority of it is always going to be negative, sorry...
