Can we just stop mentioning Mother 3 now? The whole matter has been laid to rest more than a decade ago we are never going to have it, move on my dudes. The only time people bring it up now is so they can be "funny" like that dumpster fire of show Robot Chicken.
@PBandSmelly I get it you love Vinny, doesn't mean he is funny. And my point is to stop relying on funni meme guiz to play games for you, go and experience what they have to offer to you not anybody else.
@PBandSmelly "somebody super funny" [Citation Needed] "I wouldn't have batted an eye on" But as you said you were suggesting that you would have brought it your if you hadn't "seen all that it has to offer on stream", which doesn't make sense because you weren't playing the gameplay yourself.
@bozz If you haven't noticed that most games these days have been catering to casuals (even with the intermediate and hardcore ones, making the gameplay easier when you die a certain amount of times or assist modes.). Then you're not very observant. Also wasn't being snarky, I was genuinely thanking you
@bozz
Ah, I had forgotten that we have moved on from the fast paced hardcore gaming phase, and now a lot of the videogame audience is riddled with casuals (especially in the Nintendo fandom) thanks to mobile gaming and the Wii.
My bad, but thanks for reminding me~
@Lordplops
I was jokingly questioning why it exists when it's very much likely to flop.
But I guess that flew over you head or you wasn't on the ball with that one; whichever you prefer...
@Nintendo_Thumb But it isn't "copying" or trying to be "like Jet Set Radio" though, this is straight up ripping-off. (E.G. Notice the same art style) I guess a majority of people have become either numb or embraced the fact there's nothing creative coming out (being force fed remakes, reboots, knock-offs) of the media industry (Videogames as well as Movies/TV). I'm not going to dignify your thinking that I have something against genres (or something) with an actual response, because that was absolutely ridiculous.
@glaemay Okay, tell me what these "stupid" reasons are then.
@tabris95 You make a good point and I admit that the main industry has been this (especially with Nintendo). The indie industry however really shouldn't be, for starters they are not held back by executives or mandates so they don't have to follow a bunch of rules when developing. They're literally free to develop anything they want. So the only reason they are copying the same formula of another successful indie is because it's guaranteed to make at least some money.
In summary: All I'm saying is there is so much creative potential being wasted just to make easy money. There could have been some truly modern classics within the indie scene, new legends that could have rivaled the greats like Miyamoto, and a much needed shake-up in the industry as a whole. But by the looks of the replies I'm getting it's not going to get original or creative anytime soon, people are literally throwing money at knock-offs just to fill in their nostalgia voids.
@PhilKenSebben
Just getting tired of indie games as a whole to be honest. If they're not following a generic formula that made a specific indie game great (the likes of FNaF, and Undertale come to mind). Then they're pulling this kind of stunt, ripping off a dead franchise so they can make money on an already established audiences nostalgia.
And Nintendo only made my distaste for indies far worse for putting them on a pedestal for the last 2-3 years so they can twiddle their thumbs, whistling.
@Noid Might be a fun concept (if you're one of the rare people not peeved off with the countless variants instead of them actually adding new characters to the roster), but I don't think it would go down well in Japan. Speaking of which, lets hope E. Gadd gets in next time.
I think if I removed the nostalgia glasses aside with Ocarina of Time and get over my pleasant childhood experiences with Wind Waker.
It would boil down to:
1. Majora's Mask (for the Retro category) 2. Link's Awakening (for the Handheld category)
3. A Link to the Past (for the 2D category) 4. Breath of the Wild (for the Modern category)
@pixelpatch Well if it's any indication that you're willing to spend that much on the game itself + imports + taxes. Then you must be living very comfortably (not that there's anything wrong with that~).
@pixelpatch "or asking a US buddy to ship me an extra copy." You must have some generous friends if they're willing spend that much on a board game for you.
Might get if it reviews well. Remember not all rip-offs are bad~
It's like having two of the same cakes, just the one that came later looks cheaply decorated...
@Panopticon Does it necessarily matter if he is slightly lighter? I mean if they truly wanted to "whitewash" him why didn't they go all the way? Lighter toned black people exist, and no, you being white does not matter.
@Panopticon
How does he look "whitewashed"? His color palette is near enough the same as in the game, maybe a shade lighter at worse (but even then that is stretching it).
Looks like you're trying to start a flamewar over nothing.
Also; aw man, not single player? Sucks living alone sometimes :/
@Snatcher "its almost like if nintendo booted mario voice actor" Not really, Charles has been Mario's voice since day one. Sonic must have had at least 3-4 voice actors since Adventure.
@WoomyNNYes "Since so many games seem targeted for boys, I think it's good they're making something for girls." Because girls don't want to and can't play as boys and vice versa~!
@Anti-Matter Apologies, I use "kid" regardless of age. Like I'll use guy, dude, and man regardless of gender; no connotations to it. Just part of being brought up as a slumkid, I guess. Also nice to know, I actually have more respect for cusual gamers coming out and admitting it, than the usual ranting hardcore ones... x
@Rosona
Trust me dude I've been losing faith in Nintendo for quite some time but I'll take what I can get. Call it fanboy loyalty I guess, but I love Nintendo and their games differ from what other companies put out.
But I really agree with what you're saying and desperately hope that they make actual sequels and dust off their IPs that they have been criminally neglecting instead of ports upon ports.
@Rosona "new actual first party software" Get with the times guy, the only time we actually get these is when they release a new console (upgrades to an already existing console varies), and it's your standard mainline and a spin-off Mario, mainline Zelda, Smash Bros, and one IP (most likely Animal Crossing) if they're feeling generous. I think we were lucky to get Splatoon 3, to be honest.
I dunno how to feel about this, totally on the fence about getting it. I already own the original and I admit it is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. However it's a complete downer that this looks like a straight up HD port with some facial features and a horse (what the hell?) thrown in. I was really hyped there would be a sequel where it would be more open world, less linear, some life simulation elements from Tomodachi Life, and new story overall. Ah well, might still get it. But here's hoping they actually bring out a full on sequel to Tomodachi Life...
Mario Kart 8 DLC?
Super Mario Odyssey DLC?
Mario Kart 9?
Mario Strikers 3?
NAH
Lets have another mediocre follow up to everyone's least favorite Mario sports game.
Looks like I'm a little late to say ya'll shouldn't get your hopes up too much. For all we know it could be indie games that are have only 10 minutes of gameplay, more ports (probably 12+ years old too), anime sword fighter #98 or obligatory Fire Emblem character for Smash.
@Damo
1. Fair enough, I won't regard your journalistic credibility in such high regard in the future.
2. A lot of the comments against Grande isn't about her music, they are about what an awful person she is as a whole.
3. "but why bother clicking to comment to say so?" Because they can? What? You gonna implement some sort of censorship now because you're not liking their comments?
4. "and that includes stuff like this which shows the astonishing cultural reach the company has right now" They always have. Nintendo doesn't need publicity, everybody knows about them and hell they can ship out an officially licensed marmite paste and the whole world would be praising them to the sky and buy a quadrillion batches.
@UmbreonsPapa
I wasn't talking specifically about Ariana though, I was talking about Nintendo Life pumping out nonsensical articles such as this one nearly everyday.
Anyway, people can "waste their time and energy", seriously what is up with people on this site having a grudge against people with opposing opinions? You don't have to agree with them or like them but it's called freedom of speech after all...
@UmbreonsPapa But it's not just "opinions", it's criticism as well. Whether or not it's constructive criticism is your opinion, but people are allowed to give them.

Also I noticed that you ALWAYS defend these articles and parrot the same thing over and over again. People are going to have different opinions about this and a majority of it is always going to be negative, sorry...
@Zenszulu
It's not necessarily hate as it's more to do with Nintendo Life not reporting anything news worthy and instead they give us unnecessary shet like this. Which I won't really call them out for doing, after all Nintendo has been REALLY lazy of late to actually report on anything...

I would actually buy the heck out of that, especially if it came with a collectors edition featuring these: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/08/ec/6f/08ec6fd5c75869831d86d69a332c114c.png . It would totally justify the $60 price tag.
