@Cosats Why? Without them, there be little to no headway in hardware and software development. Stop being reactionist and looking at 'hacker' as a bad buzzword like the press has taught you to and actually think of what it entails.
@impurekind I reckon the homebrew scene has spawned a hell of a lot of bright sparks who have gone on to make some pretty awesome games - legit or otherwise. I'm with you on this.
@The-Chosen-one What's your logic behind this, I'm actually intrigued, not trying to be dismissive. I personally find repaying and repaying for emulations of old games that evaporate when your console dies to be a complete fleece.
Emulation has it's place as a archiving medium and surely helps stop the exploitative eBay rip-off merchants who drive prices up, which nobody who made the original game profits from anyway. I don't agree with it 100 percent, but I'm going to play devil's advocate to open up the conversation.
It was always going to happen, especially with the virtual console being so heel-draggingly M.I.A., and no doubt it will be busting with disgustingly overpriced emulations when it does finally come out, which will only spur on the endeavour.
However much hacking eats away at software profits it will never be enough to make a real dent in the fat wallets up-top, hence the ever-increasing production values of games, not the opposite. Plus It will only push hardware sales like the DS/R4 did.
I say bring it on if they're enterprising enough to do it, let them push it to the limits and have some good ole non-corporate fun!
Officially the last digital game I will ever buy until there is absolutely no chance of a physical release. These physical releases should be announced at the same time as the digital! Also, I will be mega vexed if they do a complete collection somewhere down the line.
There should be some sort of service like with Sky, or a code like inside Blu-rays, when you get digital you get physical and vice-versa. Scamming beggars!
His lack of a bellybutton suggests he wasn't actually born like other mammals, which makes sense as he is a creature of spawned of thought, but then this doesn't explain why he has mammalian feeding apparatus (even if it is mostly redundant in males of the species). This suggests, to me, that they gave Mario nipples just for pleasure rather than function. As explained in the video he may have multiple ladies on the go, and seeing as his nipples appear to be solely for pleasurable purposes, he may also have some other pleasure-giving/receiving "tackle", although whether he is able to procreate is unclear....
...but seeing as he was created by a man it would be difficult for him to be born by traditional means anyway, so he is obviously some sort of clone/homunculus/Chimaera with no real need for a belly button. This suggests he is sort of like a mule or a Tigon and is more than likely sterile.
I'll be happy to miss this one, not that I think it looks as bad as the review says, but I'm just crushed under the weight of releases that require a fair chunk of my free time as it is!
I say more mediocre releases please, give me and my wallet some time to recuperate!
I enjoyed the story when I played this back on the PS4 release, but to be honest it could be a quite concise comic, and work just as well, for all the flimsy gameplay elements that were plonked in it were worth. Just my opinion.
I blitzed through this game in a sitting, it was awesome but also shorter than a sparrow's beak. I think I'll leave this until a physical combo with Dig, and Dig 2, and Heist, all crunched together comes out, and if that doesn't happen then I will be sad, but ultimately I'll get over it, and go on to raise many strong and beautiful children, and teach people lessons. Awesome.
Not a fan of the trailer, but I hope it proves me wrong. Having said that though, this is all I wanted from the Splatterhouse remake back in 2010. Sigh, people are finicky things.
It'll be real pairs of sonic shoes that mean you can leg it at light speed wherever you want to. No boundaries - Along walls, around pipes and over Ferris wheels -it's the future.
@Hotfusion I don't take as dim a view as you pertaining to the mental capabilities of the people who post on here, but I do think that people who try and play the "Hey I'm cool with that, it's none of my business" card often lack any real substance and prefer to garner approval via disingenuous means, rather than hold an unpopular opinion.
It's the nice, old, middle-ground, guy archetype that makes for a person who stands for nothing and folds for even less. I haven't got time for that kind of spineless pandering.
The main problem with all these Nintendo apps is that they are so heavily interwoven into their online structure that I can't play them on the bog at work. Because it is basically a tiled void. Joke! I never play games during work hours.............put potty time is different in a timezone.....
@johnvboy - Very true, my friend, very true, but the switch is at the top of the crest right now - on its own merits - people could get COD on other machines other than the WiiU and it ran much better. And it's like you say - those launch games were "pretty good" but they were not BOTW and Mario Odyssey level, bonkers, outstandingness. That first sales hurdle is conquered now, they've got to show they can keep up the momentum to win the race - or at least finish in style. I see that being done with a continuous stream of what we've had thus far, stuff that people can't get anywhere else. Nintendo level GOTY stuff.
Games, it's been said here over and over, just top quality games. It's not a craft station or a mountain climbing simulator so it doesn't need a stonking-great plastic rockface peripheral, or whatever, it is a console - it just needs to do what Nintendo does best, and leave the rest of it to the rest of 'em. More stuff on the level of Odyssey and BOTW. Simple. A reductionist view? Perhaps, but Switch is at the crest because of those sublimely simple things.
@KayFiOS it will have to be horribly post-modern. It will probably just be 2 hours of fan service, irony and shmaltz, so nobody notices the wafer-thin story behind it. Then again, in a blanket reversal of my previous assertions, it could be a super fun, film of the year, life-affirming, masterpiece ! See, I can review films! Gimme Moneeze!
@faint Oh wait a mo, you're that chap from yesterday.....oh. Okay, that got very, very, serious. So, i'm sorry, but as much I would love to keep waxing grammatical with you but i'm going to have to Ignore. Bye now.
@faint Everyone "I" know......not "I know everyone". Are you okay? You understand the difference, right.I'm afraid your food for thought is causing an intellectual famine right now.
@faint I don't, and don't remember even asserting close to that, but I'm assuming, due to your glib and cocksure response, that you do? If so, then good for you, and good for me too for having met one so enlightened and intellectually advanced in the ways of intercultural communications! I bow to your superiority and wish you all the best as you make the world a better place - unless you're just pulling my leg and trying to make people feel uncomfortable on a public platform. in which case consider your smarty pants ribaldry to have put me truly in my place! What a guy! Wow! - clap.........clap............clap..........
oh - dear - dear - me.......you can't see it, but i'm pinching the bridge of my nose and fighting off a brain haemorrhage due to the over-stupificating effects of other people's life choices.
@Anti-Matter That's a nice tidy set up! but, oh man, mine became like a nightmare - I have two young children and they loved the peripherals and the gimmicks, but I ended up feeling like Nintendo should pay me for the storage! I had a real swamp of cheap white plastic everywhere (not the best colour if you don't eventually like the yellow discoloured messy look either.) all just to control a tiny white box in the corner. Not good for the planet or my tiny house!
@Razer
I don't think it will pay off for them either I'm afraid. My concern comes from a few more simple things though ('cause I'm a simple guy) -
1.) The piano looks like it's already gone wonkey by the end of the reveal
2.) Lego Dimensions just did near enough the same thing - build it and play it etc - and it just died a death
3.) It just looks like when I first got my Wii and I thought I had to jump around like a butthead while I was playing tennis, when, in relaity, I could just lie on my back and just flick my wiimote like a lazy git.
Which brings me on to the main reason I think it will fail: most of the people I know (and i'm only talking about the people that I know, I'm not talking about everyone here, just a handful) just don't play games to dress like a robot or build a carboard cottage - they do it to escape and relax for a bit after all the important stuff is done. Maybe I just don't know enough cosplayers or something, perhaps this one is based on my own paucity of diversity in my friendship base, but there it is for what it's worth.
