Re: Junichi Masuda Confirms That Over Ten Million Pokémon Have Been Exchanged in Pokémon X & Y

Hamguar

The only thing that irks me is that it doesn't filter via ability, nature, and items. And given that you can only get certain pokemon by trading for them while they hold said item is kinda frustrating. I should be able to put up a scyther with a metal coat and not have someone trade me a scyther with nothing. Of course that pokemon was mild considering how hard it was to find someone who was honestly and truly trading a poliwhirl with king's rock and swift swim. Personally, when I put up pokemon for trade, I try to make sure they are breed optimally sans that whole IV jargle.

Re: EA's Financial Figures Reveal Dismal Wii U Software Sales

Hamguar

You need to spend money to make it EA. Giving us inferior ports, half-butted "sequels" and what is essentially trash and call them legitimate games is an insult to our intelligence and a testimony to yours. That 1.3 percent is generous considering the non-effort you've made.

Re: Rayman Legends Lands With A Thud At Japanese Retail

Hamguar

or it's the 'genius' of releasing it when Monster Hunter 4 and Pokemon XY is out and still very fresh. Hell there's even GTA V. I simply feel bad for any relatively unknown game coming out around now, granted Rayman is far from unknown. I know I would only have so much time to dedicate to games and all three would suck it all up. As was said before, waiting this long was poor judgement.

Re: UK Retailers Break Release Date for Pokémon X & Y

Hamguar

@Link41x They may be, but that depends on UK's laws and Nintendo's desire to press for it. I know here in the US there are stiff penalties. Where I work if we get reported for breaking release it can be from a 5,000-10,000 fine and most likely someone's job.

Re: Assassin's Creed IV DLC Looks Set to Sail Past Wii U

Hamguar

I'll be honest, I've not really given a flying hornswaggler about DLC since it is ubiquitous trash. Which in of itself is truly a shame as DLC conceptually is a good idea.

SO essentially what this article is telling me is that they are not going to bother taking a dump on us with overpriced dross that easily could be in the game originally seeing as they already have all the DLC pre-made.

I'm more concerned of those that keep funding this poor habit and encouraging this insult to gaming, and frankly common sense, know as DLC.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Launch Sales Estimated to be a Series High

Hamguar

@ajcismo good stuff! Just take your time and pace yourself. It is a bit slow starting but when you get to your first large monster you will be in for a helluva time. Personally I love hunting Zinogre. From music to his moves it is a battle of epicness. Only game I've logged in 800+ hours and still get that itch to play even after this break i'm taking.

Re: Shin'en: If Developers Can't Make Great Looking Games On Wii U, It's Their Own Fault

Hamguar

@Rafie On point here, there really is no need for worthless console parading. Just have fun and enjoy one or all of them. Personally, I'm set and very happy on my Wii U purchase. I've been using it regularly and look forward to the games that are coming out and already out.

I have a friend who for some reason kept getting on me for liking the Wii and that the 360 is way better and all that rot. I look at him and bluntly said I really don't give a damn about his opinion. I have a large library I enjoyed it was the first console I played so much that I wore it out and had to get a second. The 360/PS3 had offered me nothing good or innovating to enjoy. To me, graphics mean squat if you do not have a good game to go with it.

In all seriousness, If you like the 360/PS3 and their successor then good, enjoy them, but if you piss and whine over people liking the Wii U or, heaven forbid, not liking the PS4/XBOne then I hate to say, you have an entirely different problem. Most likely people foolishly put their sense of self worth in a piece of equipment, and frankly that's just sad and messed up. No person should derive their value on any of this console nonsense. Play your fav or favs and be happy. Anyone's opinion really should not have the power to steal your fun in gaming. But given the response from some people it seems to be not the case.

Re: Atlus Reaches Out to Fans Regarding Acquisition by Sega

Hamguar

As was stated before, I'm not as concerned of Atlus' games as I am of localization. Yay for business as usual for now, just keep it that way and not play horde all IPs in Japan and we all will be at ease. Truth be told, everyone won't fully be satisfied until we see Atlus' future games head westward as usual.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th September (North America)

Hamguar

@ russellohh If it helps, look at it as an alternate universe where nature is ultra hyper aggressive to the point that the BEST humanity can hope for society-wise is the hunter/gatherer/stone age era as the normal fauna have the capability of wiping out entire villages by just existing. Heck the Deviljho is basically an ecosystem devouring fiend.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th September (North America)

Hamguar

Man If I didn't get Monster Hunter 3 U at launch I totally would now. Even so I've logged in 800+ hours and only now just started my little hiatus, although I kinda miss playing it. It really is worth your money if you haven't gotten it yet.

Re: DuckTales: Remastered Coming to Retail on Wii U in North America

Hamguar

Well from what I can fathom, they could have done this seeing that a fair amount of potential fans are old school hence are more inclined to want to truly own the game rather than just licence it. Or maybe there was a fair number of people writing to Capcom about the desire to buy a physical version of the game.

To those that are frustrated in hearing this after they bought a digital like it was stated before it is cheaper and at the time you did justify it was worth purchasing. Just as we have no obligation to buy anything they are just as much to make such a product at anytime they please. No one is owed anything, period. Does it suck? absolutely. Should you be upset? I would be. I guess I'm just trying to keep perspective before anyone says something silly and self-entitled. Then again, who is to say that because of all the digital purchases that it prompted them to go retail. In that case I greatly thank you all who did make the purchase to show them that it is worthwhile to do this and even help them to bring other classics back, or at least prompt them to give more work to Wayforward, which is an amazing company. Personally, I would love to see the second one and The Rescue Rangers remastered.

Re: Sega Sammy Acquires Atlus Parent Company Index For 14 Billion Yen

Hamguar

My biggest concern ,as previously stated, is that Sega's localization track record is abysmal. I do not know if it will bleed over to Atlus, but already from their statement in the acquisition they are not keen on leaving them alone to to what they do.. PC? SMT Pachinko? I honestly think they very likely will be gutting the goose that lays the golden egg as much as I hate to admit it.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ships Over Two Million Copies in Four Days

Hamguar

@DerpSandwich Simply put, It's the perfect system for the biggest Monster Hunter consumers. 3DS is far more popular and convenient to Japanese life style since they all live so closely together and are on the go. You'll find that it would be silly for them not to, it really is the perfect marriage. Here in the States or honestly just about everywhere else due to how much more spread out people are compared to Japan and that we take the the time just to game; consoles tend to fair better to our lifestyle. Personally would like an HD version eventually, but for now just making it over to the rest of the world is my desire.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ships Over Two Million Copies in Four Days

Hamguar

@Windy It is not bankrupt per se, but they have about 152 million in funds. Which by videogame company standards is really, really low. And to be honest, their stuff has not been selling well save for monster hunter and a few titles that broke even. Saddle that with how much they lost in most of their big name games, most notably the latest resident evil. and that sums up how they got here. That said, they can still make a big turn around, but they really need to spend wisely and they need their philosophy on game making(i.e. no AAA money sink games)

Re: Nintendo Has "Nothing To Announce" Regarding Mother 3 Localisation

Hamguar

I didn't see a denial at all. You have to realized that for a living people like Reggie have to be mindful of what they say, and they know what they are saying. All he had said was that Nintendo has nothing to announce on it. Not a No or even a maybe, just nothing to say now. I sincerely hope though that will change in the near future though.

Re: Review: Rayman Legends (Wii U)

Hamguar

@moomoo
I certainly won't deny myself this game, especially since the wifers is interested but as of now I have 6-7 games that I'm playing. Just as others have said even when the game was first announced to be delayed, there will be a whole heck of a lot of things that be on gamers plates this time of year, and that doesn't even account for your normal life stuff like bills, food, and such. I do hope now that it does well for the sake of Ancel and his staff but it may be tough in this wake of gaming goodness that is upon us.

Re: Reggie Has Seen The Xbox One And PS4 Launch Lineups, And He Says "Meh"

Hamguar

@SuperKMx
True, but lets be honest. The launch titles of any system are mediocre at best with the chance of one or two being decent to great games. In fact, the only launch I've seen with more than a couple of great games was the Dreamcast. I do agree that he shouldn't be so flippant but then again it could be sincere confidence, or your run of the mill miscommunication we all get from not seeing their reaction first hand.

Re: Former Nintendo Marketing Specialist Sheds Light on Smash Bros. as a "Dangerous" Brand at EVO

Hamguar

Trainer_DJ said:

I don't see the problem of imaging. Everyone knows Smash, and its not even that violent.

You genuinely would be surprised what people know, or rather don't know. The biggest and most ignorant mistake most people make is the assumption that other people know what they are talking about.

And in terms of violence, how violent wasn't the issue at all the fact that it was violent is the issue. To see Mario in one game go to great and quirky lengths to rescue Peach and in another whoop her worse than an abusive boyfriend does show issues on what Mario is all about. Just because you and most people you know can tell the difference and know the history doesn't mean much. Of course all of you would know, you all are gamers. But know that is not the case for much of the world. Gamers are still very much a minority so logic dictates that gamer knowledge is not as obvious as one thinks. So Nintendo then wants to be careful about it.

I figured that is why they reversed the EVO decision, part due to outcry yes, but also it was determined that as others stated the viewers all knew what the mascots were all about so there was no real danger.

Re: Metroid Prime Trilogy Now Available At GameStop For $84.99

Hamguar

I personally won't buy from GS due to a good friend working at one as an assistant manager. Given the terrible understaffing, asinine policies he was forced to uphold, and overall employee abuse, I just can't support them. I'm just glad,as is he, that he is finally out.

MideonNViscera said:

@Guitardude7 Just the fact that you said "treating him like a Cash Cow" makes you hard to take seriously. Mega Man is not a him. Mega Man is a product, and like all products its relevance is directly tied to what a "cash cow" it can be.
On a more serious note, Mega Man is a dated franchise that never translated properly to current gen, just like Sonic. He'll never be huge again, and there's not really anything wrong with that.

I have to agree in part. I found the blue bomber to be much better off in 2d land style. But seeing as how Retro gave us an amazing new look in Metroid Prime I feel the same can be said of Megaman. It's not a guarantee but then what truly is? Some of the greatest things come from throwing caution to the wind and creatively just pour your heart out. Two things that are very hard for Capcom and also the very things that the Megaman 2 team did. I am not sure where I read the article but that was the case since the first was ok in sale and they were told that if the 2nd didn't do well it would very likely be the last of Megaman.

Re: Capcom Employee Outlines Details on Mega Man Legends 3 Cancellation

Hamguar

@ WaveBoy
personally I'll wait for Street Fighter Ultra Neon Lightning Confetti pulse hooters remix:Gold Edition. They have staved off my ire with monster hunter but honestly that is it. I'll fully reconsider when the send out a 3DS MML Collection. I don't care how poorly they think it may do. It's the least they can do for the MML fans and honestly I think it would also serve to help heal the rift they created. Words are cheap; action give proof their words. And until they do I don't see this ending ever, not even in another 2 years.

Re: Aonuma Is Growing "Tired" Of The Zelda Formula And Wants To Ring The Changes

Hamguar

As huge a Zelda fan I am I would have to say that I wouldn't mind some change. Seeing how Metroid Prime turned out, and being a staunch naysayer then, I was amazed at how fresh the franchise can be when done right. Now I have two ways to enjoy Metroid. If he's got some solid ideas. I would be willing to take a chance as well. Although I would be insanely caution on giving him a personality/voice. You really need to have the perfect writers and/or voice actor for that and very easily you can fail more than succeed. One of the best things going for nintendo is that a lot of the personality of their characters are left to our imagination which is great because you can please far more people that way. He is as heroic, derpy, whimsical, steadfast, and whatever else as we perceive him to be.

Re: Fan Campaign Starts for Princess Zelda to be Given a "Stronger" - Perhaps Playable - Role

Hamguar

@Araknie
Totally agree with ya on all points. And the most laughable part is the fact that they want her to do more because she wields ruling power? Since when does a leader NEED to do so? The mark of a great leader is the ability to lead not the ability to take center stage. Some of the great leaders of our, or any, time were so due to their ability to make the right decisions and to seek those who had the capability to get what was needed done. I look at Zelda more so as a modern leader and far from helpless. I personally think those who are lumping Zelda with Peach are the ones who are guilty of pigeonholing her as a helpless ditz.

From the scenes in Twilight Princess, Wind Waker's last battle, to Skyward Sword where she had to make her own journey to purify herself; she does way more than your Peachs of the gaming world. And even if you argure that Link has to do the bulk of the fighting or how she gets OHKO in Wind Waker I would take in mind that she is more mage than anything else so there's that inherent glass jaw. In Wind Waker that was 100% Link failing to tank properly.

Re: EA Developing Frostbite Engine For Mobile, But Not Wii U

Hamguar

Well it's obvious as to why they do squat for Nintendo. They are threatened by them. They are a soulless corporation only interested in gouging as much money as possible with as little effort. You only need to see them in action to get that. Nintendo on the other hand actually cares enough about their customers not to go blind cash grab on them, not that they are perfect mind you, they're just not super evil. So in the eyes of EA, a company that interested in innovating does not bode well for their profit margin. Remember, they want your cash with as little effort as possible. Forget all this competition nonsense. In all honesty, the sooner the whole gaming community gets this and boycotts EA the better. Either they'll wise up or they will go bankrupt. And as for all the IPs, we can get them when they go under. Trust me it will be like the world's best pinata.

Re: Deep Silver Has "No Plans" To Support Wii U

Hamguar

Well in all honestly they are right. I'm not in the market for crap. But it's plain as day why 3rd parties don't want to support Nintendo. They are threatened by it. From all that I've seen, Nintendo has been the most innovative in their hardware and games i.e. they actually give a crap about gaming. From the other consoles, all I've heard is whining of lack of innovation and the same landscape of FPS/Madden BS. Yes there are a few good games here and there but mostly AAA grade shovelware. And you know, if there wasn't some kooky company that is willing to innovate. I would even venture to say that they would try even less than they are now and filth like Aliens: Crappy Mistake would be the norm rather than the anomaly that it is. I'm just happy that there are now some people starting to realize that they as consumers have ultimate power and are making companies EARN their money rather than feel entitled to it.

Re: Rayman Creator Michel Ancel "Wasn't Shocked" By Backlash To Legends Delay

Hamguar

I have to agree, I am fully cooled to Ubisoft and it's products. I am very sympathetic to Ancel and I truly enjoy his dedication, creativity, and innovation. But I cannot stand companies like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft. I would further recommend, if he is able to, he would jump ship on Ubi and go to a company that would better respect him or even strike it out on his own. Much like in social life, the people around us also have a hand in our character. They may not always directly influence us but in our staying with them we say in effect that we condone/support their chicanery. I know that Ancel didn't support this debacle at all. But if this happens again, and I'm more than certain it will, I would be far less sympathetic to him. Besides, talent like him is wasted on Ubisoft.

For several reasons I have seen PETA as another false charity that is only in it for spite and money due to their actions and ethics. I take particular note at the end of the article on the testimonies on PETA's dealings in Virginia. I would think they would try and fix their mess before wailing about Assassin Creed's whaling.

Re: Rumour: Rayman Creator To Part Company With Ubisoft

Hamguar

Good for him! I am disheartened that he may not have the rights to Beyond Good and Evil and Rayman but they were the products of his creativity so I'm sure that this goose has many more golden egg in him. And good luck Ubisoft in getting any chance of replacing such a loss of creativity. Then again, I don't think they would know creativity if it snuck up on them and made two amazing IPs for them to abuse.
