@Spuratis My wife is very technologically savvy and is an awesome player 2 She commented that Shovel Knight could be the next megaman We love the Wii U for the local multiplayer options.
I am so excited to SHOVEL SOME JUSTICE! I will buy it first on Wii U, and by end of the day I predict I will have downloaded it to my wife and my 3DS as well if it as good as everyone is saying
Thank you for giving us the option of removing the yeah function in activity feed!!!! Thank you!! Now I can just read new posts made by Wii U news (awesome user made news posts BTW) without wading through a sea of "yeahs".
This game blew me away at this years E3, I was hooting during the reveal when the squid popped out of the ink. Bravo Nintendo for making a family friendly shooter where you can contribute to team by spraying the environment and not just sniping each other.
I am looking forward to same-couch co-op on Wii U playing with my wife. I love the idea of dual screens where we each have our own viewpoint (like in Hyrule Warriors).
"The animations even have the stop-motion feel of claymation classics, all while the game itself runs at what looked to us like a silky-smooth 60 frames-per-second, using impressively fluid animation to emulate the look of substantially less fluid animation. It’s brilliant, and absolutely gorgeous in motion" I love how they are using HD graphics to make it look intentionally choppy. Awesome art style using clay.
I LOVED kirby canvas curse on DS and this will be perfect for Wii U gamepad.
Nintendo does HD graphics correctly - yarn, clay, ink!
Splatoon is amazing and a breath of fresh air. The entire xbox one presentation was all bro-shooters because all you do is kill other people and be aggressive in a brown environment. For the record, I am not against mature themed games, but it was ALL that they showed. I play co-op games with my wife at home, or have my afterschool 7th/8th grade kids play on school Wii U. Nintendo actually is addressing a game that I can play with my family, kids and students. The entire idea of splatoon is painting the environment, not shooting each other. I can play the entire match painting the floor if I am not good at sniping and still contribute to the team. Bravo! Take my money!
I am very happy to see positive stories in media on Wii U. I have a Wii U for school video game club that I run afterschool, and the excitement for Mario Kart 8 was intense among the students. It was awesome to see. Now people are looking at Wii U 's back catalogue of exclusive games (pikmin, mario 3d world) and saying it is actually a good buy. Awesome.
Home Wii U that I share with my wife
Hyrule Warriors (2 player coop)- Sept
Bayonetta 2 - Oct
Sonic Boom (2 player coop) - Nov
Captain Toad (OMG - thank you Nintendo!) - Dec
Smash Bros U - Xmas
Amiibo - Xmas
I will be picking up a second copy of Smash bros U for my afterschool Nintendo Wii U game club that I run for my 7th/8th graders.
I loved the rolling treehouse live coverage of E3. It was a brilliant way of using internet to cover Nintendo games and keep the focus on the games. Awesome.
I loved the Treehouse live coverage. It gave viewers a much more in depth look at the upcoming games and made me want to buy several that I was on the fence on beforehand. The treehouse crew really expressed their love and enthusiasm for gaming and it was infectious. Thank you Treehouse and Nintendo! Best E3 ever.
Japan did NOT get a mario kart 8 bundle. They are selling the wii play + wii sports bundle. Japan also did not get a free game with MK8, they get a demo and option to purchase game at discount %.
At least NA and Europe know how to bundle and advertise with our MK8 bundles and free games. Win for America's and Europe. American numbers should be good with MK8 in top spot on amazon.
Mario Kart 8 all the way. Watch dogs is an over-hyped game that I really never got into any of the trailers (main character seemed so ... mundane). Now, child of light... that is a good game.
The Wii U is my favorite video game system of all time, and I've been gaming since the NES. I love being able to play off screen while my wife is working or using TV so I don't bother her. I love the drawing on miiverse. I have a Wii U at my school (I am a teacher) for afterschool videogame club, and it is hilarious seeing kids play nintendoland.
My wife and I are overjoyed that Smash bros. will have gender equality in characters. This is awesome so she can play as her character model in animal crossing. Thank you Nintendo!
The Wii U is my favorite system of all time, and I've been gaming since the NES. I love off-screen gaming when the wife is sleeping or needs the TV, and the focus on local-multiplayer is amazing. I have a Wii U at school (I am a teacher) and use it for an after-school video game club. Hilarious times ensue from the 5 player assymetric/cooperative gameplay.
The next Nintendo hardware will be a unified home/portable system. This will allow them to put ALL their games on one platform to avoid game droughts and put all their imagination into one device.
I am buying this day one! I LOVE the art style and that the main character is feminine and strong. Adding co-op to play with the wife is icing on the cake.
Thanks to the writers of Nintendo Life for making interesting article to read. I always come here first for my daily news and appreciate your well written articles that focus beyond the basics.
I am backing hex heroes (gosh I want this game to succeed - it looks so cool and is exactly what Wii U was intended for), twisted fusion, and the Nureo music project.
This is much more exciting than generic 3rd party titles (oh look... we are making a shooter... the exact same as last years version... but better-er). Too bad EA - I am giving my money to little guys who actually care about games!
Impression 1 - I am glad Nintendo is giving the Wii U some love. This GBA only line on Wii U makes it special, and it lets them keep their promise to 3DS ambassadors.
Impression 2 - Please Nintendo, give us a folder update for Wii U! It is getting crowded on the screen!
I share a TV with my wife and off screen play is VITAL to me getting game time because I can play while she works out or watches TV. I also watch netflix in morning with breakfast before she wakes up (I am a teacher so am up super early) and not wake her up.
I run a videogame club at my school for 7th/8th graders afterschool. I recently upgraded our Wii for a refurbished $200 Wii U and am going to be using Rayman Legends, Mario 3d World and NES remix as our go to titles (good party games).
Demos for Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros U would be invaluable for building hype for those releases with the kids.
The author makes a great point about demos utilizing word of mouth and social media by consumers who are playing demo and then tweeting about it to spread the word. Word of mouth is gold in marketing. Look at the titanfall pre-release demo for example.
The gamepad is used very well for this game. By default, you can move with cursor/buttons or touch control. The game will only show you legal moves, which is nice for beginners. The gamepad shows a top-down or isometric view of the board, and the pretty graphics go on the TV screen. You can have TV mirror the gamepad if you like. It works really well for local play. You can also play just on the gamepad if you like as well (good for casual play).
I would rather wait for a version of Watch Dogs that actually uses the Wii U gamepad and is optimized for the hardware. I borrowed Batman: Arkham Origins from library, and was disgusted by how little they used the gamepad compared to Arkham City. I am setting aside my money for the Wii U version after hearing it is optimized for the system. Having the Zombi U team work on it gives me hope as that team made the best use of the gamepad by any company, Nintendo or otherwise, and sold me on the Wii U.
I bought the premium edition because I loved the gameplay of the trial version, and wanted to support the developers of this innovative game. Populating the servers with free to play subs is a great idea as well.
I really enjoyed the music in DKC:TF. I will often just soak up the music before beginning the level. Thank you David Wise and Retro!! I love this game.

Re: Wii U Reportedly Uses Less Energy to Run Than Wii and Rivals
