Re: Feature: Breaking Down What Nintendo's QOL Platform Could Mean

This is a brilliant move by Nintendo. It diversifies their portfolio, and taps into a hugely profitable industry of health care. The number of retirees is going to skyrocket once the baby-boom generation retires in next 10 years, this is going to be a major population shift. Much larger than gamers alone.

Any monitoring that can be done in home is a trip saved to the hospital. Taking care of my elders has taught me a lot about the health industry. Huge untapped market.

Re: The Wonderful 101 Reportedly Shipping Just 30,000 Copies for Japanese Launch

HAL9000

Nintendo can always print more if it sells well. It is available on eshop as well, so people can still buy it.

It reminds me of the fire emblem launch for 3ds. Fire emblem was hard to find in physical copies at first, and then once the reviews starting coming in positive, more copies were printed and you can usually find 1-2 on store shelves now.

Obviously a mario/pokemon/zelda game will have more copies printed - and I usually see 8-10 copies on store shelves.

Nintendo knows what it is doing. The game deserves to get epic sales because it is original and new (thank you gaming gods!!!), but it won't rack up COD sales.

Re: Talking Point: The Wonderful 101 Direct and Demo Set the Standard for Wii U Marketing

I really enjoyed the W101 Nintendo direct. It was really interesting to hear more about the game from the developers. Having the Nintendo name behind the show will prompt more people to pay attention than if they posted it on their blog.

The other benefit of Nintendo directs is that they are relatively cheap. They focus on interview with game footage that is posted on youtube. Much cheaper than TV or movie commercials.

Re: The Wonderful 101 Demo Coming to Europe Today

The game is truly wonderful. I had a smile on my face the whole time. I love the little animations for all the heroes, and the whole super-power theme. I was pleasantly surprised that this is NOT an interactive movie but a game that is under your control. Awesome. They even use the pikmin whistle at end of mission mode! The controls are great when you get the hang of them. I like using the gun as my primary morph (with A) and then use sword strikes with y to keep enemies away. My favorite power is the reflective jelly.

I just pre-ordered the game on Amazon for the limited edition bundle. Great job Nintendo with the Fire Emblem 30 dollar credit. Awesome way to support 3rd parties and build up hype for FE x SMT coming to Wii U later.
