Re: Among Us Team Teases Next Update, Coming Soon

GsPandem

Tbh Among Us is still triving, its just not nearly as discussed at a more critical level. Because memes.

Reminds me of a certain 2012 hack and slash made by Platinum Games which is based off of a stealth game that blew up in popularity with a PS1 game. I think it was called Dirt Cog Gas?

Re: Reggie Talks About Nintendo's Slow Adoption Of Online Play

GsPandem

Honestly, Nintendo and Online have had a very interesting relationship. The SNES had the Satellaview, N64 had the N64DD (And for how dumb it is, somehow has more features than NSO.), and the Gamecube had LAN Play, and online with PSO Episodes 1 and 2. Hell, the ONLY mainline console without wifi capabilities was..the NES. Back when the internet didn't exist. They HAVE invested in online stuff..it's just that they've always been behind the curve. Which in the Wii days, may of been excusable, it was a few years after Xbox Live hit the console scene after all, but when Splatoon 2 has a function that checks if the game is running on WINDOWS 95, and SSBU still runs on decades old netcode, it's an absolute joke.

Re: Don't Worry, Genshin Impact Is "Still In Development" For Nintendo Switch

GsPandem

In all honesty..i would love a Switch port. Despite what memes that come from people that have never played the game have said, Genshin is genuinely pretty solid, not perfect, but it has a lot going for it. The music is, by far, THE most consistantly good OST out of any video game. Hands down. The visuals look fantastic. The design of the map is incredible. The writing is better than BOTW, mainly because Genshin actually has a story instead of 20 cutscenes and a few books. (Still love BOTW's story). The gameplay is surprisingly engaging, with all of the characters bringing something unique to the table. But, it isn't perfect, as i said. The gacha mechanics sure are gacha mechanics..but i dunno, i feel as if some people are a bit too strict on them, they're still gacha mechanics..but it could be SO much worse. The resin grind hits HARD in the late game. It isn't "finished" (which is dumb, do people just expect the devs to drop 4 MASSIVE new areas, with god knows how many characters, sub areas, quests and whatnot in a few weeks?) But, at least it's free. If you can, go check it out at the very least, don't let memes comparing it to Metal Gear Rising Revengance decide your opinion on a decently widely available game.

I got SMT4 and 4 Apocalypse from the Atlas sale, and i gotta say, having fun. If you wanna pick an SMT game if you're now to the francise, however, pick Devil Survivor Overclocked. It's an amazing introduction to the series as a whole..but the rest of the franchise is kinda bs at times so do be careful. Whatever you do, don't pick up Strange Journey afterwards, that's so much worse when it comes to difficulty. It's on an entirely other level.

Re: Who Needs Switch Pro? New Dongle Promises To "Instantly Upgrade Switch To 4K"

GsPandem

Honestly, this seems like a waste of money. The Switch's main issue is that it's underpowered. Even compaired to the original Xbox One, it's weak. And i don't get why either, isn't the Switch running off of Nvidia tech? Why wouldn't they use better chips, instead of one that was considered outdated at launch? And besides that, the Switch is selling like hotcakes? Why wouldn't they make a definitive Pro version, it would bring in people that were concerned about the hardware being mediocre at best, and middling at worst, and it would give games that struggle to run in the first place some actual breathing room.

Re: Yes, Hogwarts Legacy Really Is Coming To The Nintendo Switch

GsPandem

Honestly, not picking it up either way, mainly because of reasons surrounding the creator of Harry Potter in general, but that entire spiel is for another day. The game itself looks decently solid so far, so who knows, maybe ill buy it secondhand if it's good enough, but as is, im gonna wait this one out.

Re: Konami's New Yu-Gi-Oh! Game Has Cross-Play And Cross-Save Support

GsPandem

@Dr-M There isn't exactly a modern YuGiOh game that has a good single player. While YuGiOh 5-D's 2011 is good, it was released nearly a decade ago. But, there is a very good unofficial simulator called EDOPro, and there's one that was in closed beta last time i checked named YGO Omega, but it may very well be out at this point, and while their single player options aren't the best, they're better suited towards learning the competitive environment, due to how customizable the A.I is. But if that isn't your cup of tea, the only other option is Link Evolution, but it's single player is a boring grindfest due to the packs you need to constantly need to open to make a semi decent deck, on top of the fact that it's another retelling of the animes, without VAing, and with no personality. At least the unofficial sims have all of the cards unlocked, and are updated regularly.

Re: Konami's New Yu-Gi-Oh! Game Has Cross-Play And Cross-Save Support

GsPandem

I know a lot of people don't really care about this, but man, i love the fact that the story isn't just gonna be the animes retold for the hundredth time. It's the card lore, which has been unknown for the most part, due to most of the actual lore being in Japanese only artbooks. And i can see why they waited so long to do so, YuGiOh is CONSTANTLY updated with new cards, so making a live service game (even if it is Konami, but they did well enough with Duel Links) means that they can also keep the story up to date. Plus, it means lore fanatics (including myself) have more reason to play than this just being a really promising game with amazing presentation, and some interesting possibilities for the competitive scene. Oh, and cross play and save is nice i suppose.
