Re: Review: Space Harrier (Virtual Console Arcade)

Gizmo

I thought that this is the best version of the game, like it was said in the news?: "It goes without saying though that this is the best version of the original game you could possibly ask for"

And why is this review in the 'Retro section' and not in the 'Virtual Console' section? I almost didn't take notice of it because the review isn't in the 'Virtual Console-RSS-Feed'.

Re: Hackers Expand Wii Storage, Door Now Open To Filthy Pirates

Gizmo

"Here's another reason to consider piracy as beneficial. It expands audiences."

Because of piracy you can also say the complete opposite, because for many people it is much easier to download something than to buy it and drop money.

@ Nintendolife: Isn't it a little bit questionably to post those news and to draw attention to the ability to play pirate games on the Wii?

Re: Round Table: Is Nintendo Neglecting the 'Hardcore Gamer'?

Gizmo

@ maka:

Beside the thing that you don't like DK64 and SFA, but what is with the other games like Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye & Perfect Dark? They all belong to the best of the best of their genre.
(But don't get me wrong, I do not find that Rare is still so good as they were in the days of the SNES and N64.)

@ Wii & DS comparison: Let's hope so^^.

Re: Round Table: Is Nintendo Neglecting the 'Hardcore Gamer'?

Gizmo

For me every title can be a hardcore- or casual-game, depending on how I play it.
(I can play Wii Sports for hours and for the reason to get highscores, and immediately it is a "Core Game". But if I play it just once in a week/month and for few minutes, it is accordingly a "Casual Game".

@ "Starfox adventures was pretty bad and the Donkey Kong game for the N64 was so boring too... The DK games fro the SNES were pretty bad too."

Wow, then it is no surprise that you think Nintendo doesn't need another Rare anymore, but I think you belong to a minority .

Re: Nintendo Download: Clocks, Calculators, Penguins and Towers (US)

Gizmo

It is interesting and a little bit absurd to see some complaining comments, although they have absolutely no idea how good or bad the WiiWare game is.

@ Calculator: It is possible, for example, to extract the root or is there a function for the factorial of a number? What I want to know: Are there functions to calculate complex tasks?

Re: Monster Hunter G Gives Wii a Sales Boost In Japan

Gizmo

VGChartz isn't really a trustworthy source for sales numbers.

@ News: A rise of 5'000 is a kick up the arse? Then what was the increase of the PS3 numbers last week?

18'000 units are not really good when you keep in mind that Monster Hunter G was released, a game which sold over 100'000 copies.

@ warioswoods: Here you have a good analysis about VGChartz.com:

Re: WiiWare Threshold Is Really About Quality Control

Gizmo

@ "After all history has shown us time and time again that not all innovative, quality games manage to generate the sales expected – why should this be any different on WiiWare?"

Maybe because the price of a WiiWare game is much lower than a retail version.

Re: Review: Mega Man 2 (NES)

Gizmo

@ "Can you save?":

Not really, you get a password after each successful stage. But I think you know that you can just stop the game at any point by returning to the Wii menu.

Re: Review: Pyoro (DSiWare)

Gizmo

For me this score is too high. I would give it at most a 6, because it is just too short and has too little modes, in comparison to Paper Plane for example.
