@AceSpadeS If you think Sony has done a great deal for the gaming industry, you're not a gamer. You're a pretender. Sony could die tomorrow and it would be no big loss. In fact it could even be a good thing. It would send the industry a message: no more clone games, no more DRM, and no to high prices.

Poor delusional Vita owners. The truth hurts doesn't it? Although anyone still buying Sony products has probably gotten numb to it by now.

Don't worry about consumer confusion, Sony. Any consumers in the market for Playstations are already confused.

It would be a shame to see all retail gaming stores close down. Buying used games online has become too unreliable.

@SanderEvers I don't want everyone to speak English dude. I just find it funny that people are so quick to suggest switching over to metric whereas someone suggesting switching to English is usually considered going too far when it's really the same concept.

@Magi Not many console gamers are conscious about DRM. I'm talking about things like SecuROM, PSN, and Sony's latest endeavor. It's seems like anything that keeps you from playing your games--Sony has a hand in it. And $199 certainly wasn't PS3's starting price. A console should be affordable right from the start, not years later. Overpricing consoles is something Sony is still doing with the PS Vita (it costs more than you paid for your discounted PS3 and that's before you add a proprietary memory card into the mix). Maybe in a few more years when they cut the price it will start selling. That is, if anyone wants one at all.

@Splat I don't hate Sony. I hate mediocre games, DRM, and $600 consoles. I guess that's kind of the same thing as hating Sony though.

There's really no need for anyone to get too worked up about it. If people want the game enough it will sell at a high price. If not that's when it's time to drop the price in an attempt to persuade uninterested gamers to buy it. And if some developers can't profit from their game that's just the way it goes. No one is entitled to success.

I know if the critics don't give this game a 9 or a 10 they better prepare for trouble... and make it double.

Better that SEGA be the one to do something about it. If it's up to Ninty we're looking at a $59.99 digital price tag.

@sweetiepiejonus Yeah, it's really no inconvenience to stop off at Wal*Mart on they way home from work. I don't see how gas prices would justify a higher cost for digital games either, it's not like I have free internet service.

So the Wii U won't sell as well as the Wii but it will sell better than the SNES, N64, and GameCube did. Sounds about right.

It's a bad idea for consumers to buy digital games at full retail prices. You lose a lot more than it's worth in the trade off. The low prices are the only reason why people buy digital at all--it's not some silly trend. We're saving money.

@Peppy_Hare What I'm saying is a lot of us bought many of these games the first time around when they were in retail stores. They've already made their profits. By charging us for retro digital downloads companies like Sony and Nintendo are double dipping into our wallets. It's become commonplace. A lot of you guys are potentially getting upset over something that has been going on for awhile now.

@Peppy_Hare Repurchasing titles for the luxury of playing them on the VC or 3DS VC is already a crime in progress. (I'm onto you Nintendo.) Repurchasing games to play on Wii U really wouldn't be any different. Although it would certainly make the Nintendo Network less attractive to loyal Wii owners.

I just hope it's better than the disappointing Dark Cloud. I'm sure not everyone is familiar with that game because there were so many other disappointing games to choose from on the PS2.

I'm already sold on the Wii U. It's easily the next console I'm going to own unless Microsoft or Valve does something unexpected to blow me away. But for now I already have a lot of games on 3DS and PC that I want to finish before I buy any new hardware. Game overload, man.

It's an ugly console, but having a pure Android device and being able to play your existing STEAM games on the go are both good things.

@Usagi-san Well maybe fans will get lucky and WayForward will make the next 3DS Castlevania. Then Simon can hug it out with Dracula at the end. It seems a little out of place to me, but I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Hmm... I paid $7.50 to download Deus Ex Human Revolution, about $10 for Witcher 2, and I think less than $5 for Fallout 3.

$30 for Unchained Blades? Something is rotten on the 3DS, and I'm not just talking about Theatrhythm.

Square Enix tends to overprice all their downloadable content. It's something they have in common with Nintendo.

I'm sure Theatrhythm was made with a tablet in mind. At least that would explain why it wasn't fun to play.

I think most of us were afraid it wouldn't have enough content to justify the price tag. Too bad. I think Nintendo Life's eShop suggestion (try saying that 3 times fast) was the way to go.

I see Analysts are still lumping Sony and Microsoft together like they're the same thing. It's Sony that needs to find an identity and stop copying their competitors.

People still play GTA? It's similar to Mortal Combat in the fact that once you get over the shock value you realize there are WAY better games out there and move on.

@sinalefa I don't remember gigantic breasts bouncing out of control in Metroid Other M either. Talk about a missed opportunity.

I miss when consoles came all ready for you. Now we get to look forward to periodically updating them from day one. Maybe a PC really is enough?
