Re: MDK2 Dev Will Never Develop for Nintendo Again

Gamesake

@madgear Let's not make MDK2 out to be something it's not. As far as BioWare games go, it's way down there with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. The original MDK on PSX was much better.
@TrueWiiMaster Baldur's Gate is that good, but it's ridiculous to say Nintendo gamers are missing out on anything because they can get a copy of it anywhere for the PC (if they haven't already) for under $10 and play it easily if they've got a OS that was made in the last 16 years.

Re: Miyamoto to Show Wii U Mario at E3

Gamesake

It's called Super Mario Adventure. It's a new sandbox game with full voice acting. You get to take on little side quests and drive a mario kart to get around the Mushroom Kingdom. Also your choices change the outcome of the game, and there's a Luma Garden. You can breed Lumas now.

Re: Developers: Wii U "Less Powerful than PS3 and 360"

Gamesake

@TrueWiiMaster If you enjoyed Halo 2, you should play the original Halo: Combat Evolved. It's way better--not graphically, but it is better.

@SanFrisco9er If you ever decide to play Metroid Prime 1 and 2, splurge on the Metroid Prime Trilogy so you don't have to put up with the horrid GameCube control scheme. The Wiimote and Nunchuk were a Godsend to that series. The GameCube version wouldn't allow you to move and aim at the same time!

Re: Developers: Wii U "Less Powerful than PS3 and 360"

Gamesake

@TrueWiiMaster One thing GameCubers never seem to grasp (or can't determine from a screen shot) is how massive the levels are in Halo. Metroid Prime has tiny rooms and corridors separated by doors you have to blast and wait in front of while the next little area loads. In fact if you rush from room to room too fast in Metroid Prime the game will freeze--which sadly happened to me more than once.

Re: Gears of War Developer Expects Wii U Success

Gamesake

I agree with Epic Games here. The Wii U should have come out in 2011, but it'll be worth the wait. The more I hear about it the better it gets.

@Aviator Maybe you're unaware but the Xbox 360 launched with last generation ports like Burnout Revenge, and it didn't stop there. Gamers still bought it. Last gen ports won't stop anyone from buying a Wii U.

Re: Feature: Nintendo's Motion Revolution

Gamesake

@Altrix I didn't like the loftwing portions either. I'd much rather have an overworld to walk around. At least the skydiving was fun.
Spoiler
There's a part later in the game when you need to get to an adjacent island to grab some Goddess treasure and the only way over to it is to swan dive off Skyloft and crash onto it.
End Spoiler
It's a great moment.

Re: Feature: Nintendo's Motion Revolution

@TheDarkness It's impossible to swing the sword with a bomb in Link's hands. I've tried it. Either you're pressing A and putting the bomb at Link's feet, or you're squeezing the B button and putting the bomb away when you try to flick the Wii remote to throw it. You may not like the controls but that doesn't mean they don't work.

Re: Feature: Nintendo's Motion Revolution

Gamesake

I have a laundry list of things that bugged me about Skyward Sword, but the accuracy of the motion controls weren't one of them.

@TheDarkness Dude, you have to press the B button to ready a bomb before you throw it. Otherwise you'll just swing your sword. That's the trouble you're having.

Re: Europe's Virtual Console Loses 6 Games This Month

Gamesake

@Tsuchinoko I'm glad someone made the comparison to NetFlix. A lot of gamers don't quite understand that digital downloads are just expensive game rentals. I feel bad for the ones who stock up on hundreds of these games. Maybe this will finally help them realize they've been pissing their money away.

Re: Feature: Nintendo’s Biggest Blunders

Gamesake

@theblackdragon I agree with your previous comment. The PlayStation was quite the blunder on Nintendo's part. But even if the PSX had never happened, how can we be sure that cancerous games like Ape Escape wouldn't have poisoned the industry anyway? Sony was already publishing lackluster games before they were bilking consumers into buying PlayStations.

Re: Nintendo Rejects The Binding of Isaac

Gamesake

@ColorsOfSonic Your instincts are wrong, I'm one of the many unfortunate owners of the Binding of Isaac "thanks" to the Humble Bundle. (All of those sales numbers make a lot more sense now don't they?) Even for an indie game, Isaac surprised me with its low level of quality. It's unimpressive when it comes to both its visuals and gameplay. Everything about it feels lazy. Make no mistake, on the 3DS this game would have been overpriced and out of its league.

Re: Nintendo Rejects The Binding of Isaac

Gamesake

@tealovertoma You think the Binding of Isaac deserves to be put on the 3DS just because Nintendo has OK'd lame games in the past? If Nintendo wants to improve their image they need to start passing on the shovelware, and that means giving Isaac the boot.

Re: Nintendo Rejects The Binding of Isaac

Gamesake

This game was such a cheap POS. We won't miss a sloppy Zelda clone. Blame questionable religious content if you must, but this was a victory for quality control. Allowing games like Binding of Isaac the opportunity to leech so much money from gamers on the eShop would have been upsetting.

Re: Review: Tekken 3D Prime Edition (3DS)

Gamesake

Is no story mode really an issue? It comes with movie included, how much more story do you need? Not that I'd recommend buying this game. Tekken is an archaic fighting franchise that should have died out in the 90's. I kind of want to watch that 3D movie though.
