@WaveBoy Dual analog controllers aren't a step backwards. Having to use a Classic Controller with a foot long cord attached to a half pound Wiimote--that's backwards. If Nintendo truly wants to innovate, they won't make a controller remotely like the last one.

There might be truth to this. I've had a feeling Nintendo was going to tap into something with tablets--they're just so hot right now.

But if "Project Cafe" really does use Blu-ray it better load faster than a PS3.

The new slim Xbox 360 has been $200 for months now, this latest price cut for the Wii is long overdue. To me, it doesn't mean the Wii successor will be revealed soon. But if it was, I wouldn't be too surprised. No one is making games for the Wii right now and Nintendo can't deny that forever. If anyone thinks Pandora's Tower and Wii Play are signs of life on the Wii, think again.

Is anyone really fool enough to buy more accessories from Nintendo before they start producing games that support them? Motion+ has been around for two years and still nobody wants to make games that use it--that's ridiculous.

@Mickeymac Sequels aren't always a bad thing. But when games have ten or twelve sequels, it's clear that someone is scraping the bottom of their creative barrel.

It's hypocritical for Wii owners to start bashing casual gaming. What's next? Xbots telling me graphics don't matter?

@Scarkaiser When you buy any video game you're not guaranteed or bound to get anything. Metroid: Other M is a prime example of an expensive retail game that only has enough content to last a weekend.

@SpicyDuck It's more likely Nintendo is waiting for when things like a huge hard drive, full 1080p graphics, and 3D graphics, doesn't cost them an arm and a leg. The new Slim Xbox 360 is the same price as a Wii.

All this tells me is Nintendo doesn't want to be out sold by $1 games on their own system. It must be how they control competiton.

That's how me and my friends play every game on the Wii. They're REALLY casual gamers. Thank God you can wash Wiimote jackets.

@LegendofPasta99 I agree that the style is hurting JRPGs. Long gone are the days that any and all things Japanese equal big seller over here.

But it's more than just a good presentation that makes today's Western RPG superior to JRPGs. You get to create your own avatar, you don't just talk to people--you interact with them, and there are tons of little choices to make. Western RPGs basically give the user as many ways to customize the game as they can.

Not a lot of people here seem to like Team Ninja--but then why so angry no Samus? (You were going to jiggle the hell out of her, weren't you?)

BTW Team Ninja had little control over Metroid Other M. Sakamoto is the one responsible for the goofy story and linear gameplay. Most of what's good about that game is thanks to Team Ninja. Everyone should give them a break. And you should treat yourselves to DOA--it's what Street Fighter and Tekken should have been a long time ago.

Consumer friendly, huh? Nintendo charges 500 Wii points for 25 year old video games we've already bought from them once before. These people don't leave money on the table.

There's nothing mindless about Dead or Alive. A lot of thought goes into the fighting and the boobs.

I signed it a week ago but I'm not convinced petitions really help. I remember hearing about one floating around for Seiken Densetsu 3.

Fireplacing didn't look so hot to me, but Cozy Fire has definitely sparked my interest. They still have a long way to go--but they're getting warmer.

@BetelgeuseWC77 If you check out the Japanese gameplay videos, you'll see this game isn't the Final Fantasy you USED TO know and love. Last Story looks like something else, but that's not a bad thing.

Hey a 9/10 game can still be a disappointment--maybe they were expecting it to be a 10?

@WaveBoy Epic Mickey has enough content to justify buying, but there are better (more fun) platformers on the Wii. Sonic Colors comes to mind.

I can tell you where that giant bunch of people who grew up with Nintendo in the 80s and 90s went. After the Dreamcast tanked we all bought Xboxes.

Samus does take a back seat. She's like a support character in Other M. Her accomplishments are minor compared to Anthony's and Malkovich's. Samus merely survives wandering around the bottle ship serving primarily to bare witness to what's happening on board. Meanwhile, ==Spoilers== Anthony saves her twice before taking on his final role as deus ex machina and Malkovich stops her from entering Sector 0 because (apparently) he feels she would only get herself killed (my hero!). Samus does help Anthoney fight off a boss monster--I guess you could say she saves him but it's not like he was paralyzed with fear. ==End Spoilers== Samus doesn't have to be cold-blooded but she should be more focused on the mission. She's in a life or death situation--why is she so sentimental and self-conscious? Whether it's humanizing or not why are all the women in this story an emotional wreck while the men are courageous and cool under pressure? Where are their flaws? I think the sexist complaints still have some merit.

Too bad Nintendo didn't let Team Ninja bring back the JUSTIN BAILEY code. If your game is going to be labeled sexist you might as well go the extra mile.

I didn't find the dialogue at all cringeworthy (but that's probably because the last game I played was Metroid: Other M).

I don't think taking orders from an unlikable CO is what gives the game it's sexist tilt. Samus has been single-handedly saving the day since the original Metroid, in Other M she needs a team of 5 men to continuously save her bacon. Samus is supposedly a famous bounty hunter but all that doesn't matter to her or anyone else in Other M. What does matter is how she couldn't cut it back in the GF. Moreover; Samus is constantly second guessing herself and it paints her as an unlikely hero, a last resort, not the right man for the job. The smell of Misogyny comes from this marginalizing of Samus, having her take a back seat to the men in the same story that she stars in.

Also; I feel bad for G4, don't they know game reviews aren't about informing consumers but placating fans? Tell them what they want to hear, like IGN does.
@JakobG Samus wasn't cute? I doubt Anthoney would look that good in his Zero Suit. And don't forget Samus has worked with the GF, but she doesn't work for them.

How could anyone possibly mess up the camera in Mario Galaxy? You run in circles on tiny planetoids. Epic Mickey is much trickier because Mickey is usually boxed in by walls. They don't really compare. I do think Mickey could have learned a thing or two from Mario, though.

Yeah, downloading Cave Story now might seem like buying the cow when you got the milk for free... after the cow got a face lift.

Lots of developers work hard. To support the hard work of the original creator is no reason to buy a game. That's like buying Little King's Story because you hate money.

@Aviator I feel the same way but it is enhanced and playing it on your big screen TV with a controller is better than sitting two inches away from a computer screen.

I don't find TvC too simple but maybe that just because I've got Super Smash Bros. to compare it to.
