Re: Iwata Unsure if Nintendo Will Sell Wii U At a Loss

@ivevamm Nintendo wants more variety to accommodate hardcore gamers for sure, but if they ditch the family stuff it will not go well for them. The Wii U would be in for a brutal uphill battle similar to the GameCube. All Nintendo wants to do is maintain the popularity of the Wii and get the same hardcore third party games found on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

I rarely see arcade games getting a fair shake, especially on home consoles. They're always criticized for being too short or too hard. Such criticisms are very casual, I'll excuse them.

@7ATalavera It also needs to be $600. I won't buy it if it's less than $600.

@Samholy Graphic power will still dominate? Graphics didn't help the Dreamcast, the original Xbox, or the PS3. It looks like the only thing graphical power dominates is third place.

@19Robb92 From what was said at E3 I'm guessing below the clouds Hyrule won't have an overworld anymore and will act as one big dungeon where you'll spend most of your time. Skyloft will be a hubworld or town area that you'll be revisiting a lot.

@Mully For whatever reason Nintendo wants to keep fighting industry standards doesn't matter to me. I just think it's a shame. It's also fast becoming more important than ever for Nintendo to get the big name third party games on their next system. Somebody needs to do what Nintendon't.
