Re: Switch Port Specialist Believes Switch 2 Can Surpass Its Predecessor's Success

GMMXX

You'd think that, but not if Sonys going the way they're strongly indicating they are. PlayStation just announced Helldivers II for release on Xbox in August. The company that's committed Game Industry suicide and sabotaged their brand and practically given up and at deaths door, as far as hardware goes, that was dead last every generation it's existed is the leading dog in the industry right now, some how. PlayStation that's never so much as had a hiccup in its life, except for a couple slow years with the PS3 and has riddin on top is looking to the company that's failing on how to do business, yeah.

If PlayStation opts to walk the same path, that's what gamers are going to expect and it's going to become the new norm. Doesn't mean gamers know what's good for them either because competition is always good. Helldivers going to Xbox isn't good for the industry and it isn't good for Nintendo or the position you're wanting to place them in.

Rather than turning PlayStation down, Nintendo has accepting, arrogantly, games from both Xbox and PlayStation. Fewer from PlayStation, but accepted them none the less.

See, here's the deal. Nintendo, thinking it's their way to show dominance accepted MLB The Show (forcefully, so Sony says dictated by the MLB who doesn't know the gaming industry), LEGO Horizon, and most recently Freedom Wars. They're accepting games on their platform from Xbox, but Nintendo is remaining (respectfully so) confident in their hardware and 100% exclusive. Nothing even on PC while PlayStation, for whatever reason, panicked and started following Xbox thinking they'd be left behind where Xbox has made the decisions they've made out of desperation. They, nor their investors and Board have no clue (the issues of a corporation and the dog pound business that's letting a board that's only interest is money no matter what (like the guy that ran IBM that took over Sears and sold off all of their brands skinning the company alive. He was a tech nerd, not a businessman but sold off Craftsman first).

What Nintendo fans don't realize and want to see Nintendos success, if PlayStation whose ridden on top for so long and is making bonehead moves, when they're not at threat following after a failing business are doing what they're doing, Nintendo is going to be forced to do so to stay relevant or fall as well. Let's be real here, Nintendo isn't having the greatest luck with the launch of the Switch 2 right now. Nintendos been cocky and arrogant. Helldivers II going to Xbox isn't good news, it's a big concern. Seeing Xbox do so when they've been pinned in a corner mercilessly by Nintendo and PlayStation you could see, but with PlayStation following for no reason, somehow thing Xbox will overtake them, Nintendos gonna have to follow suit unless gamers come together.

AND, during the moment, Microsoft just announced laying off 9,000 including basically closing Turn 19 Studios and The Initiative.... You tell me. The way things are going, is Nintendo going to have just as much success with Switch 2? Doesn't sound like you'll get your wish

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

GMMXX

Better question, are you at all excited about the Switch 2, it's rediculous bloated price Nintendo will drop immediately after competitors hit the market stunting it's sales growth like it did when the 3DS was on the market for $250 and when PlayStation announced the more powerful Vita, Nintendo dropped the price showing what it was really worth and how overpriced the hardware was.

Are you gonna miss games on cartridges that are just unlock keys to digital games Nintendo controls and can lock you out of, the message contrary to what PlayStation 4 promised when Xbox threatened the same thing?

This is the first console generation and Switch 2 is the first ever next gen console I'm skipping over. Of course, I told myself when gaming went all digital that was it. With Indiana Jones on Xbox only having 2/3s of the game on the disc and requiring a download for the rest of the game, right after the PlayStation Network outage that locked me out of my games for that weekend, and then the PS5 version of Indiana Jones that only has 20GB of data on it, and now Doom: Dark Ages that only has 28MB on a dual-layer 100GB Ultra Blu-ray Disc.... Yeah, it feels like my days of gaming on current gen consoles are done and finally, now, having the time to catch up on my back log

Re: What's Palworld Dev's Defence Against Nintendo's Lawsuit? Pikmin 3, Apparently

GMMXX

Seriously? I can give you a couple other things. Magic: The Gathering vs Pokemon Trading Card Game. And uh..... How about one of Nintendos most iconic characters that ripped off Universal Pictures BIGGEST film character. Like, literally biggest. Nintendo flat out ripped out King Kong and even has the nerve the trademark "It's on like Donkey Kong" first said by Sean William Scott was it? And we know how jealously Universal guards their monsters and their images.

What do we learn from this? We learn that no idea is totally original. They all come from things that inspire us. Things that interested us or piqued our interest as kids. Nintendo has the same problem

Re: Here's Why Switch 2 Joy-Con And Pro Controllers Don't Have Analogue Triggers

GMMXX

My Dualshock, Dualshock 2, Dualshock 3, Dreamcast, and original Xbox controllers never had stick drift. So, that tells me they're cutting corners to save money because controllers, once-upon-a-time were much more durable. People are still playing on the same NES controllers. I still have the same PSOne controllers. And Nintendo can't (still refuses to) fix stick drift? What a bunch of Scrooges

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Has The Potential To "Rival 3D Mario", Says Ori Dev

GMMXX

Not a chance is what I wrote and they gave me a notification saying I needed to be more constructive.... Alright, fine, ya just can't please anyone. It's too short they complain, its too long they still complain.

It's that simple. Banjo Kazooie will never rival Mario because Xbox doesn't have the skill to do it, and if they do they'll be seen as even more blatently just trying to follow Team Asobi and Miyamoto. Xbox does nothing but ripoff their competition and copy everyone as is but, it seems more desperate at this point. I'll show you what I know.

Remember Super Lucky's Tale? Exactly. Nobody cared. They'd have better chance trying to revive Crash Bandicoot but, if you ask me, if Phil Spencer has any class, he'll deliver a HDD with the Crash Bandicoot IP on it and deliver it back to Naughty Dog and another with Spyro and deliver it back to Insomniac Games. But, why would he wanna be that kind of upstanding man? He envies Sonys development studios, shoot, he even got a chance to work with Insomniac on Sunset Overdrive and Insomniac afterward went running back to SIE.

Re: Nintendo Asks Wii U Owners To Refrain From Using "Unauthorised" Online Services

GMMXX

Or what, you'll send your lawyers after us? How is Nintendo still on gamers good graces? Youve gotta pick and choose your battles, also, understand you sold consumers their hardware, it's theirs, they can do whatever they want to do with it. Whether you choose to support the warranty after that point, that's up to you, but you can't sell something to someone and then dictate what they can do with it. How about you buy your house and then just whenever the person that sold it to you dictates how you can live in it, you can't paint it or alter it in any way..... Doesn't that sound stupid? That's what you're doing Nintendo. How you treat everyone under such a dictatorship and still sell as well as you do is beyond me

Re: Palworld Developer Pocketpair Changes Pokémon-Like Summoning Mechanic

GMMXX

Well, I guess Richard Garfield/Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro can now take Nintendo and the Pokemon Company to court over the Pokemon Trading Card idea saying that putting cards down and tapping them is a Magic the Gathering mechanic and was copied and Nintendo has A LOT to sue for.

You hear how absurd all it sounds? But, if Nintendo can take this company to court over throwing a marble and something coming out of it, well then.

This is now Nintendo makes all their money. They're so small and so limited that they live in paranoia every day. Imagine if Epic Games sued everyone over the cover-based mechanic? So they say, Imitation is best form of flattery. Some redlines are crossed, but we look past it simply to make friends and good relations because we never know if we're gonna have to call on them some day. It's simple a matter of Nintendo is in fear. Pokemon Company is their biggest source of income. To my recollection, they don't even own Pokemon Company who could leave them any time and make games elsewhere simply based on the fact we create relationships rather than seeking blood.

Stupid. Well, go get em Hasbro, they've got a lot of money and assets to take, especially with all the money they make with Pokemon cards alone

Re: Microsoft Talks About Extending Its Gaming Content To 'New Platforms'

GMMXX

Multiple, by which he meant two. Way to oversell on your investors, dude. If they're ignorant and haven't been watching or keeping up with the industry then, yeah, they bought it hook line and sinker. I think PlayStation has shipped more games on the Switch than Microsoft has, let's see..... Annual MLB The Show games and upcoming Lego Horizon? Yeah, PlayStation has a bigger presence on Nintendo than Xbox.

Multiple. You see, in the business world they b.s. their own and their shareholders buy it

Re: Nintendo's Switch Online Playtest Is Already Being Streamed, Unsurprisingly

GMMXX

People aren't very bright and forget that Nintendo like to go after their very own. Somewhere in that long User Agreement you agreed to and didn't bother to read, it probably says Nintendo reserves the right to take legal action if you're caught. Nintendo isn't afraid to preserve its IP and services. They're cocky enough at this point with their reputation that they can sue anyone and people will still buy their stuff. How do we know this? Because it's already happening today. ANYTHING that messes with Nintendo and threatens their business they'll go after you. It's been that way since Nintendo of America started with pressing and threatening retailers to pull stock if they didn't abide by their strict policy. Same with developers. It took Sega coming in to shake things up and force Nintendo to lighten up and play nice. To this day, however, Nintendo will go after anybody for the most unpredictable reasons, big or small.

Nintendolife here, is smart enough to know not to give details because the moment they do, they know Nintendo will not only cut off their free supply of stuff for reviews and press kits they can resell and the likes, but they're also subject to legal action for violation, they have a legal team to keep them strait that DOES read user agreements or knows the basic content so Nintendolife can ride that line as close as they can without going over to catch your interest. But, the article was so long for such a simple subject, I didn't read it all anyway. So many news articles, so many different subjects from gaming to conflict in Ukraine and Israel, so many hours in the day

Re: Yes, Gamescom Opening Night Live Will Include "New Game Announcements"

GMMXX

Honestly, nobody really cares about third-party games. That's all a given. If Sony isn't on the slate, you can better believe viewers are gonna be disappointed and feel the show drags on too long and filled with ads. I've no doubt that will be the case unless Sony is there. Why? Because Xbox is floundering and it's own fans aren't sure what to even think about it but those of us that were around in the days of the Sega Dreamcast and Sega submitting to the competition were in denial and it took time to come to a realization of where Sega went wrong and why it ended up that way with trying to grasp the fact, I still can't today, that Sonic was on a Nintendo console (I still won't buy unless it's ONLY available on Nintendos console). Xbox is going through the same thing. Sony is seen as the enemy because it was Xbox's chosen rival while Nintendo gets to sit comfortably in the shade. Sega fans have been there and know that all goes.

But that's the mystery, what have Sonys devs been up to? Why have we been waiting so long and is worth the wait? That's the question on everyone's mind. Nintendo just did their big reveals so, unless Geoff has something from PlayStation, he's gonna get the usual response. We already know GTA VI will be shown and we've been told not to get too excited about it. Yeah, unless Sony has a big reveal or Kojima shows OD or his Sony project then it'll be a bust. Just more of watching Geoff grip his microphone like his..... Well, you know

Re: N64 Platformer 'Glover' Returns As A Physical Switch Release

GMMXX

@TheBigK You say that now, until your without a Wi-Fi connection and your Switch is locked and you realize your renting your games. I've been there a couple times. That's why I love the convenience of digital but always have a physical backup because one day, digital will all be gone and that's it, and it'll happen. BUT, the fact you're making such a big deal about an old N64 game today, I think proves my point. One day the digital version of the game will be gone too and the N64 game you already want and likely don't have because it's uncommon now. I think you catch my drift
