@MeWario Yeah, I understand Animal Crossing is the one game to have at all times, but I'm not taking any risks. Whenever Nintendo decides to implement an account system, I'll be ready to use my friend the Data Transfer Tool (I know you have to pay for the game digitally again, but I'm glad the option is available at all.)
@MeWario Thank you for the explanation, I'm sorry for your loss of games. I was on the fence of getting Animal Crossing: New Leaf digitally, but maybe I shouldn't. Probably a guarantee that you'll keep a game forever is better than convenience.
I literally face-palmed myself. I can't believe it. This is a title that could easily be on the 3DS. We wanted exploration, and open world. Now we have a linear game just like Super Mario 3D Land, which I regret buying. I loved flying through the air in the Super Mario Galaxy games.
Nintendo, if you're actually going to make a game like that, add a challenging mode after you beat the game...and no...not the easy challenging mode 3D Land had...oh my...
My plan is to go with physical first and see how it goes (since I feel more secure with physical). If it turns out to be too much of a problem, I will just buy the digital version and use the data transfer tool. Anyway, you can't use a data transfer tool from digital to physical...
If Nintendo adds a game tied to account system, then I`m sold.
@k8sMum I'm sorry if I offended anybody. I'm usually a respectful person who respects other peoples' views but frustration took over me. Again, I apologize.
I'm sorry I spilled my anger on others. I'm just 17 years old and angry that I still don't have a job or even drive. That's my fault. Looking back, I suppose I did sound like a little kid.
Nevertheless, I'm glad Nintendo has many supporting fans.
Guys, seriously stop complaining about waiting until the morning, or 5 more days, or whatever. You can live without it. I don't have a part time job (yet), and it's a little unusual for me to get new games (sadly I get games with my parents' money for now). So, what? I can wait a month or two. You people who can always buy a game the second it releases, well good for you, but you can at least play other Wii, Wii U, DS, 3DS games while you wait. And yes, I assume you have craploads of games with all you people that can get any game you want the second it comes out. You can even go outside and play ball with your friends...
You people that were so upset because Rayman Legends didn't release in February, just because you didn't have any other Wii U games to play...guess what, I only had Nintendo Land and Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed. YOU CAN ALWAYS PLAY MORE GAMES. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO ANY OTHER GAME UNTIL THE GAME YOU WANT IS RELEASED.
This is very sad. It frustrates me, and I find people sort of spoiled these days.
@TeslaChippie Thanks so much for the answer! I assume that when you mean I should maintain the metal bits, it means that I just shouldn't leave it thrown around, meaning I should have the cartridge in the box when it isn't in the DS or 3DS. Well, thanks again!
@TeslaChippie Oh yeah, someday I'd like to play The Last of Us, and I', also intered in Watch_Dogs!! Btw do you think I'll have a problem with the cartridge for 3DS if I keep popping it in and out almost everyday for years??
Since I'll be getting the cartridge version, I hope the game doesn't getting ruined over time by popping the game in and over when switching with other 3DS games constantly..
@TeslaChippie Oh too bad I can't create my own events (eg: that river race will pitfalls). ALso, it's too bad none of my friends in real life own a 3DS or Wii U. They are the typical Xbox 360 COD players...
@TeslaChippie Oh, haha, thanks so much for the answer. So, I suppose there's no big loss after all. Even though buying the game digitally would be more beneficial, I want to be safe with a physical copy, or else I'll be paranoid lol.
I'm seriously so thankful for helping me out here (sorry to sould like an AC villager LOL) but I only have one more question, if you don't mind. How do wifi-events work? Are they there for one day, and then they are gone, or can you play them with friends as much as you like? Do players build those maps?
Sorry, I'm noob as I've yet to play an AC game (New Leaf) BTW K.K Condor is stuck in my head xD
@TeslaChippie Thanks very much for your answer. Now, I heard that plants get ruined if you leave the game unattended for a long time. Does anything else beside NPCs and plant get negatively affected if I don't play the game for a long time? What about the town I have built or my collections?
These last few days, I've been torturing myself on which verison of AC to get: Digital or physical. I'd get digital, but I want a game that lasts forever, a game I can still play in 40 years.
@SBOY I was thinking of not getting it at first, but as stated by the IGN review, it's an experience that's hard to expain, and trailers can't really show it.
I never played an Animal Crossing game myself, as New Leaf will be my first AC game, but I can understand what it's about still.
Yes, you do nothing. But you make your own goals, just like life. Many people consider this game to be very similar to real life. You can build houses, do gardening, buy T-shirts, etc.
All in all, it's a virtual reality you can escape to when life is tough on you
Considering Sonic Lost World will be coming soon, is it still worth it for me to buy Sonic Colours? I can't believe I missed out on that good of a game.
@kurtasbestos Very good explanation. I love what you said, the irony is strong within this comment!! I don't find anything interesting in shooters either. I play Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. My little brother calls them little kid games but I don't care.
I'll soon be dipping into the Animal Crossing series for the first time (although I'm still torturing myself trying to decide whether to get it digital or physical, and I want game that lasts forever).
@NImH No worries, there's no need to apologize. As I've said, I respect different points of view. I'm not a close-minded fan that is biased either. There are things in the Super Smash Bros. series I will agree and disagree on. Let me tell you, I don't like Smash Bros. fans that keep ranting and asking for characters, that is a bit immature. I don't spend my time thinking about or looking up possible characters. I simply like the series, and deeply enjoy it when the game is in front of me ready to play.
I do agree with you though that video games are art though. I respect that.
I don't know anyone who has a 3DS. I've never played this series before, and I'm planning on jumping in with this game. Thing is though, I hear people saying that the game is great when you have friends who play this.
Cutting to the chase, is this game equally entertaining when playing by yourself?
Hopefully we'll be able to play on the Wii U by playing it on our 3DS, similar to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
By the way, the news of Super Smash Bros. U appearing during E3 didn't surprise me, but what did surprise me is that they will show a footage, as I thought they would only show screenshot!
@NImH Everyone has different points of view, and I respect that. I understand there are people like you who simply do not enjoy the series. But bare in mind that these fans have nostalgic memories of when they played either the original Smash Bros. or Melee. The Gamecube has been my first game console I ever owned when I was 9 years old, with Super Smash Bros. Melee being my first game.
Maybe you wouldn't have the same point of view as we do, simply because you probably didn't grow up with the series. I personally didn't find anything very interesting about Super Mario 64. Why? Because I never played it during my childhood, already having been used to 3D games because I stepped into console gaming in 2002, when the Gamecube just came out.
So please be aware of the great memories the Super Smash Bros. series has brought into our childhood.
Wii U: X, SSBU, 3D Mario, Mario Kart U, WW HD, Zelda U, Game & Wario, Sonic Lost World, Rayman Legends, DQ X (if localized), AC Black Flag, Watch_Dogs, Zelda U!
@Scollurio is the MH3U game you're talking about for the 3DS, or is it the Wii U version. Cuz I'm wondering if village quests can really get you 200+ hours of MH
Happy birthday Banjo-Kazooie, make a wish! (I have a feeling Banjo and Kazooie wanna come to Wii U)
But wow, have I been startled for one second again, I thought Banjo-Kazooie or some sequel was coming to we U! Nintendolife, I fall for it every time...
@expa0 Are you serious. Are you...serious. DKCR is the best 2D platformer I've ever played. It has a good amount of challenge with action packed visuals and many collectibles. DKCR is the way 2D platformers should be.
Nintendo and Sega, if you're reading this, please orchestrate the music from Sonic Xtreme and have it on Sonic: Lost World as the main theme! That song is epic, and it will give many fans goosebumps for sure!
This is what I discovered:
If anyone knows about the testing stage in Sonic Xtreme with the wide, green field, then you'd know that this trailer is based on the idea of Sonic Xtreme and I'll tell you why:
1. They both have a large green field.
2. They both have the exact same blue birds.
Btw I was never really a Sonic fan, and I've learned about Sonic Xtreme today.
@uel Oh alright thanks. But I thought I heard something about Nintendo not giving your games back if you 3DS breaks...I think I'll wait until Nintendo ties its games to the account (and hoping they make accounts for 3DS)
@DaveC Thanks you for this information. Very well said. I was on the fence of deciding to buy 3DS games digitally for convenience, but thanks to you, I am deciding to buy physical form 3DS games. I think you saved me there, bud.
@ferthepoet Never. Remember the people who also like large flat screen TVs, and sharing gaming experiences with family and friends. I suppose I could understand your point of view since you must be a lone gamer. And don't forget how the 3DS was selling poorly at the beginning just like Wii U is at the moment. Wii U will eventually put food on the table too. Why focus on one handheld console, when you can get double the money in the near future.
Quite a few years ago, I played Dragon Quest IV, a random selection from the various DS games as it was the first game I played in the series. What nostalgic memories I have from that game. It'll never be the same...
@OptometristLime Ok, so just because it's been a couple of month since the GC release, you consider it a long time? Hmm...sometimes I'm not sure how people will be able to wait 5 or 6 years until the next console.
Gamecube 2 should be similar to a cell-phone design. You open it, and you have like a little TV screen on top, and the controls are on the bottom. I don't care if it's a little heavy cube you have to carry, as long as it's portable and protected in the inside!!

If a 3DS stops working and you send it in for repair, are the digital games still saved? With their save data you progressed too?
