Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U Can Wear Many Masks

Funny_Moblin

I also really hope the next Zelda game is a lot like Majora's Mask, that game is incredible. I apologize for getting off-topic, but I can't help but wonder; Why are the Xbox One News and Push Square websites basically dead? Nobody really comments on those websites. Or is it like the early Nintendolife that needs time to build up fans? Or does the name Nintendolife just speak for itself? I guess Nintendo fans just communicate better and like to share a lot of views and opinions.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Sells More Than 1.2 Million Units in Opening Weekend

Funny_Moblin

A game crafted with so much love definitely deserves these sales. Also, Nintendo's marketing was very smart. They release this game 11 days before E3! Gamers got a good taste of Mario Kart 8, and now they will be intrigued to see what Nintendo has to offer at E3. It's like jumping of the blue ramp in MooMoo Meadows (release of Mario Kart 8), and the taking another boost with a nearby ramp while gliding (E3).

Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Funny_Moblin

@Action51 Ah, thanks a lot, much appreciated. Hm. The Wii U Pro controller does seem of good quality and well designed, I think I will go with that. I do have a question, if you don't mind. I hear the Wii U Pro controllers a rechargeable, but the problem with that is over the years, it will charge less and less. Is there an option for actual battery replacement?

Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Funny_Moblin

@jjmesa16 Thank you for finally being one to respond to me. I'll think about it. First of all, I will need to know if GC will support other games such as Mario Kart. Then, I will decide if it's worth playing with the poor Gamecube control sticks. Do you know if the Wii U Pro controller control sticks are durable and good quality?

Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Funny_Moblin

Can somebody please just answer my question? What's more comfortable, the Wii U Pro controller, or Gamecube controller? I'm wondering this because I want to know why so many peopel, despite of having the Wii U Pro controller available, prefer the Gamecube one. I never used a Wii U Pro controller, but I'm guessing it's much more comfortable, plus it's wireless, so I don't get it.

Re: Nintendo Announces The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U

Funny_Moblin

Well, what convenient timing! I was considering buying Wii U Pro controller(s) for Mario kart 8, but I may not have to after all. $50 is just ridiculous. I have three Gamecube controllers, but two of them have very washed-off rubber control sticks, and one of them had to rubber come off, making it sort of a pain to play with. I want an opinion from people who have used the Wii U pro controller; is it worth getting those controllers with the condition my Gamecube ones are in? Is it much most comfortable than the Gamecube controller?

@Roadkill409 I grew up with the Gamecube and emulated DOS games for PC, so I grew up with Nintendo for the most part. So yeah, I unfortunately don't have that SEGA magic in me, but I still find it incredible to really enjoy SASRT without knowing much of the content. I do hope that SUMO makes another one, I would definitely buy it. It would be interesting to see what new stuff they'd have up their sleeve.

@Roadkill409 Man, I also think Racing Transformed is so much better than Mario Kart (probably until I try Mario Kart 8, who knows). As I mentioned to another user, the feel you get while racing is incredible, such as having your car tilt back while swooshing through boost pads, the speed, all of the mechanics. It's more in-depth with the World Tour, car ranking and leveling, stamps. Most courses are just so darn fun to race in. The switching of plane, kart, and boat is incredible. If there's one little detail I must share, it's that it feels incredible to race in Panzer Dragoon on the third lap, and have a big wave coming at you, making you jump high, and using the air time to make a ridiculous amount of flips. Transformed is my favourite racing game, and I pretty much only know about Sonic and I'm not a fan. Heck, I only played like 3 Sonic games. THAT'S how good the game is.

@ScorpionMG Personally, I liked World Tour mode; it gives a racing game more of a single player mode. There's just on large thing that the game does better than Mario Kart IMO. The feel while racing is incredible, it's like you actually feel it. When you go on a boost pad, the car actually tilts back while boosting, and not to mention the sense of speed. It all just feels more natural while driving. Mario Kart Wii felt very unnatural while driving, but I trust that Mario Kart 8 will feel much more natural.

Re: Nintendo's Stock Value Creeps Back Upwards After a Tricky April

Funny_Moblin

@JaxonH Yeah, I don't really have a problem with them developing Metroid now, but it's just some of the fans that anger me. Honestly, I'd like another DKC just a tiny bit more since I've played it before, but I'm good with another Metroid too, to see how I like it. I really like your point about having many more Metroid games released aside from Retro's trilogy. I myself didn't have a chance to get the DKC SNES games, and I'm kinda bummed about that.

Also, the thing is that Metroid fans begged for Metroid so hard, acting as if it wouldn't come to the Wii U. With all the Metroid games having released in the recent past, they knew perfectly that a Metroid game would be made for the Wii U, and don't forget the Metroid attraction on Nintendo Land. They knew it was coming, but decided to screw over Donkey Kong just so that they could get it earlier.

Re: Nintendo's Stock Value Creeps Back Upwards After a Tricky April

Funny_Moblin

@JaxonH Exactly. That's a really good example by the way. Even though I never played Metroid before, it does seem like an interesting series, and I would gladly buy one for the Wii U. Unfortunately for us who would rather see a deserving DKC game to top off Retro's trilogy, I don't see it happening in a long time. I think that snotty Metroid fans have already raged and pressured Retro ever since revealing Tropical Freeze at E3.

Re: Nintendo's Stock Value Creeps Back Upwards After a Tricky April

Funny_Moblin

@SecondServing Hey, why are you hating on Donkey Kong? Retro made a trilogy with Metroid, and you people are angry because they made a second game for Donkey Kong Country? That's pretty selfish, and darn I'd be darn happy if they made another one, because we at least deserve a Donkey Kong trilogy from Retro. You people kinda make me wish a Metroid game comes out right at the end of the Wii U lifespan, a well deserved punishment. The selfish part of the Metroid fanbase has got to be the most immature and impatient people.

Re: Digital Foundry Pins Down Mario Kart 8's Resolution and Framerate

Funny_Moblin

@MAB Wow. Since you mention this happens with third party games, hopefully this doesn't mean the same thing happens with first part games (Nintendo does know their hardware better than anybody else after all. And even if there is a difference, I hope it's very little. Luckily, I haven't heard anybody bring this up for Mario Kart 8 (besides you), so I think there will be no difference. Thanks for the response.

@Dauntless "I shall put it into a blue case to make it look more proper. Too bad they didn't change the banner and number 8 to red because it would have looked good than."

Are you-- ...I don't even-- ...URGH. What type of nitpicking is this!?! You get a special red case, and a fun game to enjoy. It's that simple. No need for weird stuff.

Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)

Funny_Moblin

@Windy Umm...the game is still bright and magical and stuff, they just made it more realistic and detailed...which is a GOOD thing. If you don't want this game because you're just not into it anymore, sure, I respect that. But if you are not buying it just because they made it more realistic and detailed? ...That's kind of sad actually.

Re: Nintendo Hosting Two Big Evening Presentations at E3

Funny_Moblin

They funny thing is that, despite all the money they have gained with the huge successes of the Wii and DS, they do not take risks...with more money than never before. So I hear, the Gamecube didn't do too well, but they took risks! The Gamecube was my first console. Super Mario Sunshine was my first game. It was weird for me to see Mario without F.L.U.D.D. It was weird for me to see a Mario Kart game that had one single racer.

I'm thankful to have grown up as a kid around such creativity, and levels that would actually challenge me, frighten me, and have me thinking and trying different methods over and over. I feel bad for the 9 year olds who are growing up around Super Mario 3D World.

I'm loving all of the Wii U first party games, but compared to the risks the Gamecube took, well...that's a different story. To be honest though, even though they are playing it safe, 3D World is pretty much my only complaint. .....Really hoping for Sunshine 2 though, and I want them to make it frustrating and confusing like the first one.
