@KryptoniteKrunch nostalgia and bias torwards Sakurai that’s why. And yes, it’s really refreshing to see a list like this that gives Kumazaki’s entries the spotlight they dang well deserve.

@Crockin the great cave offensive is what consistently keeps me from enjoying the snes version of super star. Weird level design, the screen not showing you what’s coming, enemies flying at you or falling on you out of nowhere and haphazardly placed obstacles, it’s all around a miserable experience, which wouldn’t be as bad if you weren’t required to play it to unlock the last two games. And even then I personally prefer the ds version for the better screen view, more forgiving health bar, and extra side games.

@BulbasaurusRex it technically plays a little better but removed so much of the charm and soul from the original with washed out pre rendered backgrounds and muddy colors compared to the original and even removed some details, like meta knight no longer throws you invincibility candy, butter building doesn’t have the rotating effect anymore, and Kirby doesn’t get angry eyebrows at dedede in the penultimate cutscene. Plus they replaced the egg toss and crane mini games with inferior ones iMO. All around it doesn’t feel like the people making it had any respect for the original whatsoever leaving a pale shadow of it.

Please head my advice and don’t get the exclusive version! Strictly limited has a next to zero chance of delivering you your games in a desirable time period on top of no refunds that has been well documented and complained by people online. I bought my turrican anthology from them back in December 2020 and 3 years later I still don’t have it. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!!!

Re: Random: "I'm Able To Trust Sony More Than Nintendo" - Japan Reacts To The Closure Of The Wii U And 3DS eShops

Funneefox

I’m on their side. The fact Nintendo has the audacity to do this while simultaneously flat out stating Nintendo switch online is the only way they plan to preserve legacy content is flat out unreasonable. Even in the DS/wii era this bullsh$t Nintendo has been doing would’ve been impractical. I’m even reconsidering getting forgotten lands now let alone using my switch still.

Re: Bandai Namco To Spend $130 Million On Building An 'IP Metaverse'

@Browny metaverse is already leagues behind second life and vr chat which both have better models more freedom better framerates and character models that move with you as opposed to the metaverse’s roblox models.
There was a video of a metaverse “rave” recently and it looked like a 2006 roblox level in all the worst ways.

Re: Soapbox: Don't Cheer For Corporate Takeovers - It's Not A Game

Funneefox

Can’t wait for people to cheer Sony buying out Capcom only for them to run all of the executive directors out into the streets and get Neil Druckman as the new director so than every time you kill a monster in monster Hunter the game plays a 10 minute cutscene shaming you for killing it and you spend most of the game killing innocent people and have every street fighter/darkstalkers character wear heavily censored clothing lmao.

Re: First Activision, Now EA? FIFA Publisher Is Tipped For Takeover

@Lanmanna gaming companies release buggy unfinished products for 70 dollars upwards and have predatory micro transactions and usually have really inhumane stuff going on at their headquarters, furthermore a lot of them have been hopping onto useless trends like NFTs or buying out studios to make themselves look bigger. It’s not about passion or creativity anymore with mainstream gaming, it’s about who can make the most realistic wow gritty shooty bang bang vidya gam regardless of how it turns out upon launch or how many people were broken making it. Nintendo is the one exception to this when it comes to big companies and even then they treat their fans like doormats and are one of the worst examples of legacy content being mishandled I’ve ever seen.
