I'm just throwing this out there because it's probably my favorite game of all time, but does anyone think X-Wing could be remastered and brought to console? Are there too many keyboard controls for it to translate? I know it's on Steam, but a console version would be awesome.
It's definitely hard to browse the eShop with all these low quality games, especially since scrolling through the eShop has horrible load times to begin with. I used to look for good games on sale, but I stopped doing that a while ago. Now I just wish list games I know are good and wait for them to go sale.
I have an Xbox and their eShop doesn't seem as bad, so is this just a Nintendo problem right now?
Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest blew my mind away back in the day. I know Dragon Quest came free with my subscription to Nintendo Power, does anyone remember if Final Fantasy did as well? Both were covered extensively in the magazine, with Final Fantasy getting its own dedicated issue/guide. Then it was on to the Game Boy and FFL series (which I learned later was actually SaGa)...
Where's FF Mystic Quest? Not a well regarded RPG I know, but I have fond memories of playing it back in the day. I remember it was on Wii eshop so some kind of port must exist.
Anyway, I'm buying Final Fantasy I and III up front and I'll wait for sales on the rest. I would have bought the physical but you know...
Atari Mania for me. I rarely buy download games at full price but kind of looking forward to this. I thought about NASCAR, but I have Heat from last year and it's just OK. I can't justify $50 for the new version.
Also, is anyone else not renewing their Switch Online Expansion Pack? Not being able to get an N64 controller is a major factor for me, those games just don't play well without it. I rarely played the Genesis games. The Mario Kart expansion pack is cool, but I can get that separately, maybe as a gift with the holidays coming. I'm still going to keep the basic plan, gotta have the NES and SNES games!
@mattesdude I used to have that Midway collection for GameCube! If you have an Xbox there's a Midway arcade collection you can download from the Microsoft store. It was originally released on Xbox 360. Great selection of games including Joust, Gauntlet and SmashTV.
I stopped buying new games from them years ago when they sold me a "new" game by taking an open case off the shelf and putting the game in from a drawer behind the counter. Also, the staff can be overbearing and also rude sometimes. Goodbye Gamestop, I hope the local shops take over your business.
I was surprised at the price too but I bought it anyway. The license was probably expensive and I spend so much time playing Pinball FX3 that I was happy to throw $15 into the pot. Pinball FX3 and The Pinball Arcade helped get me through COVID lockdown. I just wish the Marvel tables would come to Switch!
I love Switch and it is still my primary console, but I added an Xbox series S to compliment it. It looks like it's going to be awhile before Nintendo upgrades its hardware, and they have fallen behind in some games (think no Madden, no NHL game, no 4K support, etc). A lot of the Switch appeal is handheld mode, I can play it while my wife is watching TV, but for next gen gaming you need an Xbox which now costs the same (or less) as a Switch.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 21.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Yes, my eShop crashes too. I heard they are leaving Switch 1 for dead but I expect this from Apple not Nintendo
Re: Switch 2's Rumoured 'C' Button Isn't Actually A 'C' Button
Remember the 3DS had a camera button, could be the same here. Also could be used for screenshots, etc
Re: Switch 2's Rumoured 'C' Button Isn't Actually A 'C' Button
Camera button
Re: Opinion: Nintendo Needs To Let Us Block The Crap On Switch 2's eShop
Don’t forget to pick up Monkey Kong which is coming soon… a rip off of Nintendo’s own IP, lol
Re: Opinion: Nintendo Needs To Let Us Block The Crap On Switch 2's eShop
Remember Drink Driving Simulator? Is that still up?

Re: Review: Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (Switch) - A Faithful Remaster For Jango Fett, Warts And All
Also, X-Wing and Dark Forces are no longer "cannon" and those games were great. Cannon is kind of meh these days anyway.
Re: Review: Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (Switch) - A Faithful Remaster For Jango Fett, Warts And All
For less than $20 on pre-order, I figured I'd give it a try. They might patch up some of the issues mentioned above at a later date.
Re: Feature: The Rise Of 'Scam Games' And 'Keyword Bingo' Firms Flooding Switch eShop
@nimnio I agree! Still, there should be a way to filter good games like that out from the junk.
Re: Feature: The Rise Of 'Scam Games' And 'Keyword Bingo' Firms Flooding Switch eShop
Also, some games that sound cheap are actually good - my wife loves Power Wash Simulator - but there has to be a way to filter out the junk.

Yeah, buddy! Take my $10!
Re: Poll: Which Was Your First 'Final Fantasy'?
Also I loved Mystic Quest on the SNES which had a port on the Wii but has gone MIA since.

Re: Random: Tired Of Waiting For An N64 Switch Controller? There's Another Option
I've been using a Gamecube style controller I got on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GXLBCC3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
It's not perfect, but I was never crazy about the N64 controller anyway so this works for me.
