You could pretty much keep the list that. Actually, add Starcraft and Mario 64 and you're done. Minecraft in another 5 to 10 years. WoW is the popularisation and biggest rpg of all time so you really don't need another one. Really, keep the games to that, games that have been game changers and massive.
DooM is THE fps, no need for call of duty or halo as it invented the genre and was huge.
Micro stutters here we come... Too much hardware fragmentation ruins operating systems and prevents developing getting the most out of the system. Carmack has for quite some time expressed his lack of desire for anything developer related on android.
Simple. Time to make all Nintendo first party games available in the virtual console. If the game is more than one generation old. i.e.. Gamecube games, then they all be available for free on any Nintendo system. If Nintendo want to make serious $$$ and rule the roost this would be the way to do it. When you buy the system you buy all the virtual console games too.
Even if Sony or Microsoft did the same thing on their console they haven't got anywhere near the level of quality or retro factor that Nintendo does.
Wow. Serious drought for the next 6 months. Not a huge fan of smash, hyrule warriors is apparently struggling to even be a consistent 30fps according to projared. Captain Toad is definitely the one I wanted. I wouldn't doubt it if they end up delaying it in the us and japan yet too.
SMK will always be the best racing game of all time. Con trolls are fantastic and the tracks actually force you to be good. I hate all these wide tracks nowadays on Mario Kart as you really don't have to be good at racing the karts.
Really, Nintendo has so much $$$ worth of back catalogue and IP it just isn't funny.
Solution.
Flat monthly subscription fee for Nintendo's entire VC catalogue on Wii U. That's NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, GBA, GB, GBC, DS. Watch so many $$$ roll in it ain't funny.
Nintendo needs to release all their VC back catalogue on Wii U and charge a monthly fee a la xbox live membership. Hell, throw a heap of GC and Wii titles on there too. Nintendo could wipe the floor with PS4 and Xbox if they provided something like this. Who in their right mind would buy a competing console when you could access so many games for a flat monthly fee?!?
The game is rated R18+ here in Australia which means it's restricted. Irresponsible parents can actually be charged for giving and letting their kids play this game. The sad thing is that kids will be exposed to this sadistic game. It's not satire. Their game is exactly the sort of thing that they are satirising.
Hmmm. I really really find Valiant Hearts personally disturbing. Stylised world war 1 without showing any gritty realism. War is NOT a cartoon. I don't like how the soldiers are just blown apart at the start and because of the art style there is no impact. The art style trivialises the content. I cannot in good mind buy or even support this game.
On the other hand, Child of the light looks absolutely fantastic.
I agree. They should be buying up as many developers as they can big time. Nintendo will be fine, if the Wii U is not as big of a success then big deal. Nintendo can cope with it financially and the 3DS will keep them profitable in the short term anyway.
If the PS4 doesn't go as well as anticipated then Sony is pretty much out of the console business. The company is in debt up to their eyeballs and they can't afford unprofitable divisions.
Please, can people stop bringing up the new IP crap. Nintendo just launched a fantastic new IP in Wonderful 101. Unless it's a new style of game (ala sandbox minecraft etc.) a new IP doesn't make any difference. You could call it Mario Sandbox and it wouldn't make any difference.
Advertising is half the trouble with Nintendo. They should've licensed the production of a Wonderful 101 cartoon/movie to be made. That would've been some killer advertising. Maybe they'll step up advertising in the lead up to christmas.
All Nintendo really has to do to make the Wii U a success would be to produce a Pokemon rpg for it anyway.
It's fashionable to rip on Nintendo at the moment. Financially, there isn't a cause for concern with Nintendo, there is cause for concern with Sony and Microsoft's gaming divisions but they don't get ripped on. Go figure.
Yep. I'm almost considering buying a Japanese version seeing as Nintendo produced so little of the Japanese version. Wait for prices to bottom out, then snatch some copies up.
Fantastic game. New IP with creativity. Of course it isn't going to sell well as as it gives all the haters the exact thing they've been whining that Nintendo doesn't do.

Re: First Screens From Banjo-Kazooie Spiritual Successor Are Revealed, Kickstarter Coming In May
Nintendo needs to make this exclusive. Back them, fund them. I can't see the game working on any other platform anyway to be honest.

Re: Yacht Club Games Gives a Shovel Knight Localisation Update, With Pixel Graphics
Pathetic. It's not as if they have to change anything at all for the australian version. Tempted not to even buy it with this level of delay.
Re: Guide: All You Need to Know on Mario Kart 8 Characters and Kart Customisations
Look up the hidden stats for the tires. VERY very important.

Where the hell is shovel knight?!?!??!?!?
Re: Video: DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jeremy Ellis and The Roots Perform an Awesome Super Mario Bros. Remix
Jazzy ftw.
Jeremy Ellis, that was not music and is everything that is wrong with electronic music nowadays.
Re: Video: Nintendo Game Developers 'Sing' About Their Upcoming Wii U Releases
Aaaaaaaannnnndddd still not released in Australia.....

The original and the best.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U)
Looking at the negative reviews most of them have a quite a bit of fashionable Nintendo hate coming through in their comments I reckon.

Re: UK Champion Sami Cetin Breaks World Record Barrier On First Ever Mario Kart Track
Best Mario Kart game.
Tracks are too long nowadays and there's much less skill involved.
Re: SNES Inspired 'Super World Karts GP' Adds Wii U to Funding Goal
Super Mario Kart is still the best mario kart ever. Tracks are too big nowadays.
Re: Feature: Why Nintendo Isn't Popular in Poland
The closest thing to an FPS on the Wii U is actually an FPS.
How about Zombie U? Call of Duty?
Re: Poll: Is Nintendo's Wii U Advertising and Marketing Doing Enough?
I have not seen a single wii u ad on TV in Australia. If I wasn't a Nintendo fan I wouldn't even know it exists.
Re: Wii Karaoke U Doesn't Censor Explicit Lyrics
How about actually releasing this in Australia?
We Aussies still haven't been able to get this.
Re: Nintendo Wants To Close Down This Open-Source Web Version Of Super Mario Bros.
@eza But what's reasonable? Should Nintendo be able to hold copyright over the NES Mario game for ever?
Yes. It's that simple.
Re: Video: Dixie Kong Struts Her Stuff in This New Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Trailer
I hope they have Pro controller support. Shaking to roll was easily the worst thing about the it on the Wii.

Re: Talking Point: With Calls for Nintendo to Follow the Crowd, It Faces a Dilemma

Hmm, it would be fascinating if Nintendo implemented game rentals in their e-shop. $20 to rent a game for a week.... I'd jump at that.

I like the idea she said about making a cartoon with them. It'd be worth Nintendo investing in something like that.
