Personally i think this is a mockery to the gilded boy. The game held so much promise with its fantastic platforming, fun level designs, neat heirlooms but the game just falls flat completely because it shoves joustus down your throat. Theres no reason joustus exists and frankly it ruins the game. Instead of the high flying fun platforming action shovel knight is known for, you sit your fat ass down at a table and get your ass pounded by the AI. Every move you make the AI will have a way to win the game in one move. The worst part about Joustus is that its just padding but for no reason. If you removed the Joustus entirely, you'd still have a solid platformer with the best boy himself. Sorry but 5/10 for me.

Actually another easy, albeit less entertaining, way to remove fruit energy is just to save and quit for a little bit.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude or anything but I'm tired of everyday hearing "Gamefreak sucks!" "Pokemon is a dying franchise!" "Gamefreak needs to listen to our needs specifically and no one else's!" And I'm not sayin this is everyone, but those that are like that are getting louder and louder until we reach the point where thats all there is

"The TRUTH about Sword and shield" This smear campaign of whiney adults is getting ridiculous at this point. What went wrong with sword and shield? People are too busy whining about small things like actual children that their blinded from the good of the game. And i'm sorry, but if you are willing to demonize and attack a man and his company that pour their heart and soul into these games over something as minor ,in the grand scheme of things, as POSSIBLY not being able to use your favourite pokemon in sword and shield, then how dare you call yourself a true fan of pokemon. A true fan would yes be a bit bummed, but would look past it and look at the better things, not just stick to one thing and leech negativity from it.

Going off of that point, I highly doubt that home will just be a clone of poke bank. Gamefreak knows that people are upset about the cut down pokedex, so they're going to do something to conpensate. My guess is that home will be something akin to ranch or amie(amiie?)/refresh but on a bigger scale since its entirely its own thing

@Redelement "ignored the dumb home and sleep apps" You're joking right? Theres no way you just about game freak putting more effort into pokemon home, you know, the new way to transfer pokemon? How is that dumb? And whats more, we know literally know nothing about home, so we cant even call it dumb

And i mean, lets be real here, Sword and Shield are going to sell millions. Its just how pokemon works. So I say, instead of complaining, just go along for the ride and enjoy it!

Its kinda sad to see this many people about this. Like yeah, its kinda a bummer but like, Sword and Shield are still gonna sell like hot cakes, no matter what GF does. So why complain about stuff? Just hop on the hype train and go a long for the ride!

While im kinda disappointed, it's not that big of a deal. I totally understand game freak's decision on this and i respect it. Am I bummed I can't flex ALL of my shinies in HD? Yeah. Is it going to stop me from loving gen 8? Nope.

@shoeses Whoa buddy, no need to get feisty. Also, im kinda confused. what is the point you're trying to strew together? That a character shouldn't be in smash if its not important to gaming? Cause I mean like Ice Climbers had 1 game, and they were still put in so i dont really see what the point your trying to get at is.

@shoeses Street Fighter 2 literally reinvented the fighting game genre as a whole. And Banjo Kazooie showed that platformers could be just as good or even better than just Mario

I think its safe to say at this point that shovel knight is the hallmark of indie games. I mean with how mainstream the game has become, im not even sure if we should call it an indie game at this point. "Indie game" is a title too small for shovel knight lol

@Wavey84 But thats the thing, once in a blue moon. Theres like a snowball's chance in hell of Bill, Arthur, and Mike getting in. The chance is honestly so little we might as well not even consider it.

@Wavey84 While yes the blue bomber(or as i affectionatly call him, megan) was in MvC and that didn't stop him from getting in, i still don't think arthur would get in because the franchise is basically dead, and not many people would recognize arthur at all, the same would go for bill rizer as well, they are just too out dated/unpopular. Even ryu and mike jones(who i actually had to look up who that was, just proving my point even more), would fall into this issue. Yeah these people are appealing to old school gamers, but smash isn't just for old school gamers, its for everyone. And to bring this back to cuphead, while i wouldn't mind cuphead getting in, he just wouldn't fit, the borderline eurphoric rubberhose art style just wouldn't fit in a 3d party/fighting game. Im happy for joker, but before we get our hopes up for what character is next, i think we should take off the nostolgia goggles, not to say its bad to want to have your favourite characters from your childhood in smash, and look at things realistically. Smash DLC is going to be characters that have the most popularity amongst the entire player base, thats just how buisness works, you get the characters that are most marketable, and while it sucks, its just fact and there's not much we can really do about it but bite the bullet and still enjoy smash for what it is, even if our favourite characters aren't in (cough waluigi cough)

@Wavey84 i agree with you on the point about cuphead in smash but i highly doubt that arthur will get in because he's in the MvC series and bill rizer probably won't get in solely on genericness and forgetability. Bill is just a guy that shoots things.

@apollocreed uhm, you can play online with friends, and i mean yeah its a slight nuiscance(i can spell!) to not be able to use the switch app for many games, but thats no big deal. Im honestly confused on what you're trying to get at

Ah jeez, just scrolling through the comments was a nightmare and a half. However, since ive got no life whatsoever and too much time on my hands ill shove my WITTY opinion into this. First, i believe nintendo is listening to their consumers, in some regards at least. I think the main problem is that a lot of people, NOT ALL OF THEM mind you( i really want to stress that point) are overlooking the good nintendo is doing out of pure anger at things that are quite petty, except for one issue, but ill get to that in a moment. Alright so first, the lack of a decent voice chat system and lack of internet browser and netflix. To be blunt, the switch doesn't need any of this. While yes netflix, an internet browser, and a good voice chat system are great things to have, they aren't needed. Allow me to remind everyone that the switch is a GAME SYSTEM, not a tv to watch netflix on, not a telephone to chat with friends on, and not a computer to search things on. While some would say a system lacking its own voice chat system would be idiotic and flat out DUMBBBB, there are other things that can be used, such as discord or skype. Remember, the switch isnt perfect, it has its limits and its own purpose, to play games. Same with netflix, theres hundreds of different ways to watch netflix, and its a 100% garentee that everyone has at least one way or another to watch netflix. And the lack of an internet browser is honestly a good thing in my book, because lets be real, who actually used the internet growser on the 3ds or wii u? It wasn't really all that good. Now on to the one problem that has quite a lot of merit, nintendo abandoning certain IPs in favour of more popular ones. While i find it sad that nintendo is abandoning less popular IPs, it makes sense from a buisness point of view, its better to make games for franchises that sell a lot more than ones that don't. And while yes, a new mother game or f-zero game would sell like hotcakes, i dont think it will happen anytime soon. And again, people are overlooking the good games nintendo has released, breath of the wild, mario odyessy, lets go pikachu/eevee, the glory that is smash ultimate! I think if accept the switch for what it is, a game system, then everything will be fine.

Like, come on, how pokemon is doing shouldn't be something talked about as it has no relevance to the article itself. Awesome! Its good to see that switch online is doing good, it deserves it.

I think the problem isn't with pokemon itself and more of the fanbase. A lot of people(not all of them, let me make that very clear) think they know what's best for pokemon and expect game freak to do what they think is best, and when game freak doesnt, people get angry. Also i think lgpe was doomed to fail because it was gen 1, and when gen 1 is even refrenced in a game its labelled as nostalgia pandering and is shat upon(let me make this clear, im only refrencing a PORTION of the community). I also think its unfair to claim that game freak put no effort into making lgpe since it was most likely a very trying process since game freak has never used the switch technology before and they've been using the same tech since 2013. If you think about it, lgpe was a safe option for game freak instead of just jumping head first into gen 8 or the sinnoh remakes.

I await for the day when someone comes up with a valid and unrefutable reason, that isn't just "banjo-kazooie is dumb, boring, and repetitive(which it isn't)" and "minecraft is the second coming of christ(which it isn't),why steve should be in over banjo.

There are as many five year old children clamouring for steve in smash as there are blood cells in my body popping at the mere thought of it. None of these leaks are true. granted my view of leaks as a whole has been skewed by the grinch leak incident. Erdrick and ryu would be cool but i dont think they are going to add ANOTHER swordfighter from an rpg since they have cloud and the fire emblem characters which are way more popular and memorable than erdrick, and ryu(the one from ninja gaiden) is just too forgettable. Doomguy i cant see getting into smash solely based on the character himself, or lack there of in this instance. Theres nothing to doomguy, he's just some guy with guns that shoots demons alot, a character needs to BE A CHARACTER in order to get into smash. And now for the one that is the main topic steve. While yes, minecraft WAS a very popular game, it has fallen extremly from its fame and is now just screechy five year olds, "family-friendly" youtubers who are the equivalent of droids, and people with sentient though just trying to get a cheap laugh. And again with doomguy, theres nothing to steve. He technically doesnt count as a character as he is just a skin. So who do i think will be the dlc roster? Probably sephiroth, for the square rep and to go with cloud, banjo-kazooie, since microsoft and rare are both down with putting in the iconic bear and bird, another fire emblem character, which one is open for debate but possibly hector because of the heroes event going on, and possibly Alucard/Trevor for more castlevania rep.
