There are a few position shifts in this week's UK charts, but one thing certainly hasn't changed. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn't need to use the force to keep pole position, fending off a second surge from Gran Turismo 7.
This means Kirby and the Forgotten Land has slipped down a fair few places, swapping with the Polyphony Digital to sit at seventh.
Your usual Nintendo favourites are all still here: Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have dropped one place, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons clings on to tenth. Gran Theft Auto V and Horizon Forbidden West have leaped back into the top ten, however, with a huge bump in sales of 86% and 41% respectively for their PS5 versions alone. Sounds like everyone's beaten Elden Ring and is going back to pick up things they missed, or some old favourites?
Last Week | This Week | Game |
---|---|---|

Well I guess that Horizon has been out for a couple of weeks now so it must have been discounted.
@dew12333
A big shipment of PS5 stock + bundles arrived. That's why a bunch of PS5 games got big sales boosts.
@westman89 any info on what way the LEGO sales are split by platform?
I feel like at this point people buy GTA 5 and Mario Kart 8 on a weekly basis like it's part of their grocery shopping list.
It's nice to see GTA V back in the chart, it's been a while
If it was anything like my local area today Kirby was completely sold out... maybe it is the same in the UK? Just something I noticed when I was out and about.
Kirby already part of a sale for AUD$40 from one of our major retailers here in Australia.
Don't know if it is overstocking or what but Nintendo stuff seems to always be easily available in Australia.
In the UK we had some good PS5 drops
It did the trick games wise.
I take it there was an increase in PS5 stocks.
@AmplifyMJ
In the UK including physical & digital it was something like
PlayStation 39%
Xbox 34%
Switch 27%
If I had to pick one game series that I would not let anyone under 18 play, it'd probably be GTA, so I really don't want to know what kind of cultural impact GTA V has had after sticking near the top of the charts for nearly a decade straight.
The fact that Kirby is even still in the top ten is impressive. I expected it to make a brief appearance after launch week before disappearing.
I never like Western franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, etc.
And thus I only like LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER.
I was in Target yesterday and could not decide which of these to get. Literally standing in front of an endcap display unable to decide. I let two random teenagers make the choice for me. We chose Lego Star Wars. May the Force be with us all.
Elden ring only on 8.
I dug Lego Star Wars, it's the first Lego title I've paid full price for since the original Lego Star Wars titles. Lotsa content by folks who clearly love the source material
@Dezzy70 @SuperPotato316 thank you for your replies
Skywalker Saga is the best Lego game I've played out of all of them. I've been playing the Lego games since the first Lego Star Wars came out and was never really that bothered about them but this game I am particularly impressed with.
@Mauzuri I finished it on PS5 with no issues at all. Sorry that happened to you.
@AmplifyMJ
According to Christopher Dring from GameIndustryBiz last week LSW sold best on Playstation and this week it sold best on Switch which apparently is a regular pattern. Lego games start better on other platforms but in the end the Switch version sells the best as the games have longer legs on the platform.
@KindofaBigDeal interesting, thanks
Considering that Kirby is a relatively short experience it doesn't surprise me that the game doesn't have legs. Appropriate since Kirby doesn't really have them either.
Looks like Horizon Forbidden West is not going #1 right now. Welp, next Playstation game.
Sad Kirby will soon be forgotten while Grand Theft Auto V makes an un-surprising return.
