Re: Nintendo Paid "Around $6 Million" For Monster Hunter Rise's Timed Exclusivity On Switch

Chocokrow

Its not surprising they'd be hesitant considering they have been claiming it'll totally end up selling as much as Mhw, which was multi plat. If they want it to sell as much as world, it can't be exclusive to a console. The switch is popular but can't match against steam.

I'll still get both versions, but I'm more excited for the pc version, since the switch can't be strong enough to run it nearly as well. Plus, graphical mods like model swaps are fun!

Re: Soapbox: If The Smash Community Wants To #SaveSmash, It Needs To Start From Within

Chocokrow

What is this article trying to say? Promote cancel culture? What exactly do you expect a bunch of random people to do?

Those were criminal cases: they should be handled in court with lawyers in front of a judge, especially if the cases involve minors.

Nintendo doesn't give a ***** anyway, they've always been against competitive smash because competition goes against their "family friendly" marketing strategy. If they actually bothered to regulate more tournaments maybe they'd be better organized and require hygiene.

Re: Smash Comp The Big House Cancelled After Cease And Desist From Nintendo

Chocokrow

@Caryslan They had to cancel their Ultimate plans too because it uses same mod since Nintendo are too petty and cheap to fix their awful online configuration even during a raging pandemic. The lag makes it near impossible to have remotely fair matches.

Which is odd because there have been other tournaments that use the same modified version of the games and they haven't been sent anything.

Maybe they want to distract people from the growing stacks of joy con lawsuits, or maybe they want people not to realize they could fix the online or support an online for Melee, and just choose not to because they're cheap and don't want people to have fun in ways they don't think is how the game should be enjoyed.

Re: The First Review For Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Now In

Chocokrow

I normally enjoy warrior games for some mindless button mashy fun. Also nice to have more cooperative games.

Demo made me cancel my preorder. Runs and looks so awful even for a warriors game... We were hitting down to 10 fps.

I'll just watch cutscenes online if I want the story.

Isn't famitsu pretty well known for bias reviews though?

Re: MiHoYo Accused Of 'Carelessly Putting Players At Risk' In Genshin Impact Data Breach

Chocokrow

@King-X Okay.

I'll make it simple since reading is hard. Even though you obviously read it and just too mad to come up with feasible defenses.

The game is fun, and you can get by just fine without ever paying a dime.

Your logic of "it made lots of money because gacha is cancer" doesnt make sense. It makes money because it's popular, like Pokemon Go and Fate.

Linking accounts is normal, Nintendo has you link everything to your Nintendo account.

The game is "unfinished" because like many free games it will release free content over time.

It's not a botw clone and no one brought it up so not sure why you mentioned it.

Most of my comment wasn't about you forcing your opinion on others, but explaining why your logic wasn't a very sensible argument to back up your blunt claim to avoid the game.

But if you insist on acting emotional, we can at least agree that Yuri is a fantastic character.

My recommendation to people is to just try the game out, but have some impulse control and patience. No one is bending your arm to spend money on gacha.

Re: MiHoYo Accused Of 'Carelessly Putting Players At Risk' In Genshin Impact Data Breach

Chocokrow

@King-X The gacha system is just a gacha system. It's honestly better than most thanks to the pity system. It's a lot kinder than basically every nintendo, SE and Namco gacha I've played. You want real cancer? Go play fire emblem heroes. Enjoy rolling for random natures.

It's made a lot because of whales. Where was the outrage around games like Pokémon GO or any other successful mobile game? A game being successful usually means people are enjoying it, else they wouldn't put money into it. Many players either pay very little or nothing at all, though. I've yet to pay for rolls.

It "isn't finished" because games are a service now. I'm guessing you either rushed or haven't actually played because even those two areas have a lot of content. Remember this is a free game. Many games now release content over time. It keeps a consistent player base active. Unless you also complain about mmo expansion passes and dlc? I'd rather pay nothing for content over time to 80 to 100 dollars for the "full experience".

You don't have to like it but don't go around forcing your dislike on others. This Chinese free gacha game is honestly better than botw. It's a super fun experience, it's co-op, and is very unique. Every character has their own ability and fighting style. And you don't have to pay a dime if you can be patient.

Furthermore, while I do think they should be called out for glitches like this, I don't get why people are acting like this is the only company with these breaches. Did everyone already forget Capcom being hacked literally days ago? ***** happens, mistakes are made, companies really don't care about your privacy until they're in trouble for it. So yes, yell at them, but it is not a reason to avoid a fun game.

Sorry, this is the future of gaming, even Nintendo is doing it. I normally don't like gacha, but this has been one of the better versions of it, I don't feel it's needed just to progress and all my rolls mean something as all characters are viable and unique without natures or ranks. And, there's an entire game underneath, not "press auto button and go do something else" like most mobile games are. I encourage people to try it before having tantrums over gacha. It's not as bad as you think.

(imo, as the future of gacha is inevitable, id rather show companies generous systems with actual content earn more positive attention over empty garbage that abuses your wallet)

Re: Rumour: 'Switch Pro' Could Feature A Mini-LED Display, According To A New Report

Chocokrow

@ummyeahnintendo People are still making this complaint?

Iunno what to tell you, the Switch library is pretty large even if you ignore the ports. I don't mind the ports since they don't take a ton of time to do and means I don't have to dig out my old consoles anymore. But they're still making plenty of new games, like Bravely 2 and Hyrule Warriors 2. Whether the games they're making appeal to you is a different story.

Re: Rumour: 'Switch Pro' Could Feature A Mini-LED Display, According To A New Report

Chocokrow

Finally, a rumor that is sensible and sounds less like a wish list. Can't believe people are still begging for a portable 4k system. I would consider buying a pro for a led screen. Lcd sucks.

I could see an improved screen and better battery. I hope the system is larger instead of being made for children's hands and actually be comfortable to hold. If bigger they could switch the type of sticks used and stop this drift nonsense.

If you need something for anti aliasing, look into the Marseille graphics enhancer for Switch on Amazon. It does a good job.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Will Launch With A Day-One Update

Chocokrow

@Thannus

1. The game shouldn't need day 1 patches before it even releases. Bug test the game before charging me sixty dollars.
2. Day 1 patches encourages publishers to release unfinished games as they've now conditioned gamers to accept that.
3. It means my physical copy is worthless.

Nintendo becoming EA isn't worth any amount of nostalgia.

Re: Random: Can You Hear That? Sounds Like Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music In 3D All-Stars

Chocokrow

@KnightsTemplar Nintendo.

Expecting consumer friendly policies isn't exactly "high expectations" when plenty of companies manage to do so.

Limited stock, forced superficial demand, exclusive time limits, overpriced products, subpar development, purposely leaving out demanded products because you can sell it for more...all anti consumer policies. Hell, most of what comes of Nintendos ***** policies like limited supply or a limited run are tons of scalpers scooping it up and flipping on ebay for 5x the price. All because Nintendo thinks limited demand is "needed" to help push some of the most highly demanded products in the game industry.

I imagine you also think I'd have "high expectations" for expecting my 80 dollar controllers to not start drifting within a year.

This is a business transaction. If you were part of a deal and felt you were getting the short end of the stick, you'd have a problem with it. It's not like Nintendo is doing me any favors. They want my money. I'd give them my money if they delivered what I want. They want positive marketing. I'd talk positively about them if they didn't keep making decisions that hurt the consumer because the richest company in Japan are greedy.

The consumers who blindly buy any garbage Nintendo spits out and who constantly defend themselves getting screwed over only encourages Nintendo to keep doing it. This company isn't ran by Iwata anymore. They don't care about "gamers", only pleasing their stockholders. Sooner you see past their Disney lie, sooner you'll see how much they abuse their adoring fans.

Re: Paper Mario Producer Says He's "Not Opposed To The Fans' Opinions"

Chocokrow

This sounds a lot like "being innovative is too hard, so we would rather make games as bare bones as possible with paper puns and mindless gameplay to cover up any sort of unique creativity of characters and story telling, and only include gimmicks that don't require much thought process like moving some circles to line up enemies."

Aka an excuse to not be innovative.

Re: Bloodstained Axes Roguelike Stretch Goal, Will Replace It With A New "Randomizer" Mode

Chocokrow

505 strikes again... Between this and Indivisible, they've really driven me away from trusting anything they publish again. It wouldn't have been a difficult feature to implement, and randomizers are even easier to make.... They really copped out here. Totally disrespectful to the many fans who put money behind supporting the kickstarter once again, I'm fine that not everything works out but this is a running trend with this game. Least switch port is "playable" now while indivisible doesn't even have one yet and 505 just avoids all questions about it per usual.

Re: Video: Let's Talk About Byleth In Smash Bros. And The Fourth House In Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Chocokrow

I think the biggest issue is people are just tired of seeing Fire Emblem characters. Like great for the people who apparently only play Nintendo games, but the string of third party characters was massively exciting and interesting because we were seeing characters we normally wouldn't have expected for Smash being included. Who predicted Joker or Terry? Who else gave up on Banjo? Everyone knew Byleth had a shot, most people also just hoped it wouldn't happen because it's a boring choice. Especially considering they're asking for money for him.

Plus the fact that they immediately announced pretty lack luster dlc, especially since we're still waiting for the those who slither dlc found in the game's code. It really made Byleth feel less like a character and more like a marketing push. Least three of the four dlcs have brand new games associated with them. I'd feel same way if it was a pokemon despite adoring pokemon over FE. It's less the series itself and more how they're handling it.

Imagine characters like Spyro. Or Crash. Or Dante. Or hell even Doom Guy. We've never see those series represented before and never would have expected them to ever come in the first place. And the final dlc of the pack is supposed to be the most exciting and surprising. Instead, while Byleth looks fine as a character, he now embodies people's disappointment in how lame the reveal was. Even Sakurai sounded uneasy about it, as if he knew it wasn't what people were hoping for.

And sure there's more DLC coming, but over the course of two more years because Byleth took the last spot. This disappointment is gonna sit with a lot of people for a while and may even affect their confidence with buying the next dlc pass. The fact the characters were chosen but not announced and probably won't be announced till December tells me that there are characters they don't want revealed yet... Like... Anoooother fire emblem title coming 2021?

Dunkey's video is pretty spot on how sarcastically I view this whole deal. But it's also understandable because FE is a huge series now, like one of their top franchises, thanks to the waifus in Heroes. Just maybe should have been a free dlc character over taking the last slot, or swapped with Banjo's reveal.

Re: Soapbox: Attacking Pokémon Creator Game Freak Isn't Cool, But Biting Back Isn't The Answer

Chocokrow

I dont like the "shills" new argument that paints the people complaining as violent, aggressive and immature. People aren't entitled for voicing their opinions. Being actually involved in the community, most criticism I've seen is fair. The conversations get heated when shills swoop in on the offensive, offering no arguments other than "just dont buy it". That's encouraging people be quiet and consume, and it's a bad mentality.
I've seen threats here and there and it's not cool, but it's far from the majority and most are probably just trolls fueling the fire.
Turner liking that post actually makes me wonder if this was all staged to begin with. It stirred up randomly, close to release day, and GF/tpc have ignored the controversy entirely up till now. I guess they thought it'd die down by now. Considering mitt Romney has alts to like his own posts, it's possible this is a planned thing that's also backfiring, since people have since taken over the hashtag to continue spreading their criticism.
By now, any company would have caved, even terrible ones like Bethesda and EA give in eventually. It's super odd to me gf is holding their ground this hard over something easily fixed. All the old pokemon are finished, they're purposely choosing not to include them all for some reason.

Re: Disgruntled Gamers Are Review-Bombing Astral Chain On Metacritic

Chocokrow

@xmrmeow Astral Chain is nothing like Bayo or DMC. It's honestly more often a mystery solving or puzzle platformer game than an action combo oriented game.
The gameplay is way more about placement than combos since you rely pretty heavily on your legion, which is an AI.
I can say it is locked at 30fps, and inputs are super precise. Input lag is far more important for action games than frames. By comparison, games like KH3 tried being 60 fps, and would drop frequently enough that it was infuriating.

In response to Sony fans dissing this game because it's exclusive to Nintendo: blame your holy lord and savior Sony. Platnium had asked they support Bayo 2 and Sony told them to screw off. Nintendo basically saved Platnium. It's not surprising to see them do more exclusives for Nintendo now.

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

Chocokrow

This reminds me of the whole dropping Bluetooth connection thing back at launch. Nintendo argued with me that my microwave or fish tank was causing the drops. They can't ever acknowledge that their hardware isn't foolproof.
