Ok, that does it. I am installing the Homebrew Channel and playing all these games for free using emulators on my Wii. Your downright contempt towards your loyal customers recently has lost you another lifelong Nintendo "geek." You should be ashamed of yourselves Nintendo.

I hope it comes to Europe. Am I right in saying that it had the original Metal Gear 2 as opposed to the travesty that was Snake's Revenge on the NES which Hideo Kojima had no involvement in?

This looks very impressive. 3 to 4 hours is a perfect length if you ask me. I get bogged down in 30 hour games most of the time and crave for games like they used to be , quality and not overly long.

I think Lost Winds will have to be downloaded. It looks very interesting indeed.

@Mario maniac: I think Rondo might already have been rated due to the PSP port having been released? At any rate, import titles are good news to me even if they are not games that I am rushing to download. It bodes well for the future of the VC.

I agree, it's good to see more Neo Geo games as it makes the release of the newer versions ever closer. What's next Fatal Fury Special? Also, I'd love to know how well received Rondo of Blood was last month over in the Land of the Rising Sun.

It looks a bit like an album cover by Sabac Red from the hip-hop group Non-Phixion. Maybe that's where you saw it stuffgamer1

Looks like an improvement on the original. Ths similarities between these and the Street Fighter II characters is so obvious it's funny.

This looks really poor. Streets of Rage or Final Fight are a much safer bet.

Never played this one. Animation is great for an 8bit title. Reminds me of an early version of Flashback.

@sammy: Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Four games from two new VC systems is good news in my book. Leave the complaining for the weeks we get one crappy NES game please.
Let's hope this is the beginning of a new trend.

It's a shame that we have to talk about games we would LIKE to see coming to the VC as opposed to one's that have been confirmed. The releases have seriously dried up, otherwise we would not have the need for this list. I hope the release schedule improves for all our sake.

It's great to see yet more import games appearing on the VC, its especially reassuring that they are coming from both Konami and Hudson Soft.

@Kelvin - Ya, Parodius on the SNES was great fun. Were they released on the PC-Engine? Seems to have been a system much better suited to shooters with a lot going on on screen.

What an odd-looking game! Still, I will support any import games on the VC if it means quality titles we missed in the past will become available to us.

That really is a waste of a VC Friday.

@Eva - I thought my Resident Evil 2 was an interesting one but Final Fight CD on Mega CD beats my choice. I never knew this game was released on Mega CD until about a week ago! I presume it had all three characters and simultaneous 2 player support which the SNES version lacked?

@Damo - Oh right, strange that they would have an almost finished version of a game that would have done well and decided not to go ahead with it? It would be cool if they finished it and released it alright. I am intrigued...

I see a few people voting for Starfox 2. Is this the game that was never released on SNES? What was the story with that, why was it canned? Was it released in Japan?

@That Guy from Faxanadu. Whats the retroport adaptor? Can you use SNES and NES controllers on a Wii?

I don't think it's ridiculous at all seeing as Metal Slug Anthology is said to have a control scheme so terrible that it ruins the gameplay of these games and there is no classic controller or Gamecube controller support. A major mistake by SNK Playmore if you ask me. I have never played the originals and am quite happy to download maybe the most highly regarded of the series to check it out.

I was thinking R-Type on TG-16 alright. I might give that a blast. Thanks Damo. Back on topic, I wonder why Konami have not released Castlevania III on the NES on the VC before Rondo?

@Damo. Actually Damo, seeing as you are a shooter fan, what VC title could you recommend for somone relatively new to the genre? I played Life Force a bit on my old NES and rented a few when I had my SNES (I know, not a machine suited to frenetic shooters with lots of sprites) like Axelay etc. I don't want to download something that is mind numbingly hard to start off with and turn me off them forever and miss out on some classics!!

I agree, I think Nintendo made a mistake in not releasing Super Smash Bros. (N64) when Brawl was released. I thought it was a cool idea to release the two Metroid games prior to Corruption and Super Mario Bros. 3 a week before Galaxy. Super Mario Kart coming out around Mario Kart Wii's release would definitely be welcomed. It is fantastic to see highly sought after games such as this being announced. I will definitely try out Rondo of Blood, not sure about the others.I was never really a shooter fanatic back in the day, but the sheer wealth of 2d shooters available (most notably the TG-16 titles) is making me reconsider and maybe give them a second chance.

This is a fine game. Had it for my SNES. Better than Super Street Fighter II in my opinion. The sound effects are better in this version, SSFII sounds like hitting a tin can when you kick someone.

This game is absolutely fantastic and was the benchmark for 3D games for a long time following its release. Download this now, 5 stars.

Great game, it is better than Final Fight on SNES as it has two player. Music is fantastic too.

It's a brand new game, using sprites from the originals, has new or redone stages, has Adam from SOR1 as a playable character...the list goes on!! Basically it has all the best bits from the originals and more! It's freeware so there is NO excuse!!

I had a feeling something was up yesterday when my posts were deleted mysteriously after I said this was an April Fools joke. I decided to post something about hoping for the Atari Jaguar being announced and that was left unedited. Haha, I hope we get the BBC Micro next month....

Thanks Dazza. It'd be sweet if they were 400, it was a system I never had chance to play so I'd definitely pick up a few games that I've heard people talking about.
