Re: Review: FIFA 23 - The Final Whistle Blows On A Legacy Of Disappointment

I wasn't planning on getting Fifa this time around, however I have been given it as a gift so I am obviously getting stuck in to Ultimate Team.

I'd be absolutely delighted if any kind of world cup mode as added, even if it was exactly the same as Fifa 18s DLC with roster updates, but I really can't see that happening. If not, I hope people go back to Fifa 18 to play that for a bit whilst the world cup is on.

Another thing is this will obviously be the last Fifa on Switch (or on any console), and in the future, the last versions on a console tend to be worth a fair bit. Fifa 19 on the Xbox 360 goes for loads secondhand. I'd be surprised if this didn't happen for Fifa 23 on Switch too. What will also help with the value is the fact that there really isn't a competitor, not even PES/eFootball.

If you have Fifa 22, there is already a 50% off discount available in game, making it £17.50. Don't think I'll consider it this time unless I start to struggle to get any online matches, but time will tell!

Would be amazing if they could give us a version of the World Cup DLC, even if its just a roster update of the version on Fifa 18. I still go back and play that now from time to time.

@Wesker If you have Fifa 21 then you can get Fifa 22 for half price buying through Fifa 21. Well you could a couple of weeks ago anyway. With that and Nintendo points, Fifa 22 cost me around £10, which I was more than happy with tbh. Yes it's the same game as before essentially, but I love playing online, and I find the most players are on the most recent version.
