@WaxxyOne I was thinking that too, but it might not be that simple. The card appears to use an actual 3DS cart, which may circumvent any security hardwired into an original copy. On top of that, if all they are doing is replacing the code on the 3DS cart with that of a different game, then the 3DS might not be able to detect anything. That said, I'm sure a crew at Nintendo will be buying this right away and figuring out ways to bring it down hard. People need to show more restraint, this isn't cool at all.
@Ravyu Pikmin 3 is also confirmed to support the controller. I can only imagine that all future games from Nintendo will support the Pro Controller to some extent. It is a fifty dollar peripheral that has just been collecting dust so far, after all.
@S7eventhHeaven No, it's four times more, which is still a lot. PS3 has two 256MB chips, one for the GPU, and one for the CPU, with a grand total of 512MB. Xbox 360 has just one chip worth 512MB.
Also, I actually glanced at all the comments so far and am stunned that no one caught the most obvious error in this article. The Expansion Pak was 4MB not 8. The total became 8 when it was added.
@Einherjar OK, now not finishing Wind Waker is actually a crime. Expect the game police to show up at your door very soon. HD would be a good place to do it, plus I hear rumors of all that cut content being added back in. True the triforce hunt was pretty boring, but the entire ending is one of my all time Zelda series favorites. It is hard to look back though when there is so much to look forward to.
DIDN'T FINISH? SKYWARD SWORD!?! I guess I'm guilty of not making it all the way through Xenoblade Chronicles even though I'm pretty sure I was more than three quarters done. These things happen, but I suggest pushing through Skyward Sword, that game doesn't really shine until later on. I hope you at least played to the desert area.
@Melkaticox The information in the show was meant to tie in with the information in the games. If it's true in the show, it's true in the games, at least the older games. The newer games are set in different worlds from what I understand. In the end it's all a bunch of fantasy anyway.
I think they work like capsules in Dragonball, and by that I mean I think that their contents is actually moved to a confined area in a parallel universe, which is how I think those work and also the reason that dinosaurs, old western towns, and futuristic cities all exist in the same world. Also, I'm pretty sure it was confirmed on the show that the ideal environment theory is the one at play.
Great game, but ultimately flawed in design. The racers needed to be constantly repaired but there was only a limited amount of cash to be made in the entire game so if you didn't play well enough you wouldn't be able to win anymore and if you wanted to play more at the end it would cost you performance. Loved playing from beginning to end though.
I'm probably going to have to drive about 300 miles to see them, but I think it's a cool idea. With roughly ten people per square mile in my state I don't think the one Best buy that I know if will be getting these.
Times they are a changin'... back to what they were. Casual gamers will always play the easiest thing to get into and phones with dollar games fit that bill perfectly. Things are changing, but they aren't moving forward for the games industry. Instead, video game consoles will soon become a thing that, like ten years ago, only gamers had and used. There will always be a market for gamers that require more input than a touch screen can offer. That said, games on consoles and dedicated portables are going to be fine, but production should probably be scaled back so the market doesn't get inflated with more product than consumers can afford.
As long as people don't use hacking to take money away from the people that deserve it I think it's okay. Using hacks to download every game for free only hurts the possibility of better games in the future.
This should be on the eShop, not DSiware. Just like Wiiware, nobody buys things on their DSi anymore. The biggest audience is going to be the 3DS crowd so put in on the eShop and increase the resolution to match and maybe spruce up those graphics a bit cause those screens look sparse and boring.
$5 an episode is hard to beat for something that looks this good. 12 episodes = $60 total, that's one full game. Clearly these guys have good intentions and don't plan on scamming us like many episodic games might do. All I'm really hoping for is that episode 1 comes with a framework to add the other games on as DLC so it is all in one place. I got that Back to the Future game on PS3 and sure I could organize it to all be in one place, but it should all be in one game icon instead of five.
Actually it translates to 'chatter chatter' and is a word used to describe an environment of crowding people. This sucks, I'm comment #42 which means that no one is going to read this and the media has once again skewed something in the minds of many. Anyone who watched the Nintendo Direct the Sunday before last E3 would know this, so does that mean that a writer for Nintendolife.com doesn't even pay attention to the company he writes about? Sorry to call it out like that, but that's how it looks.
@rjejr We're going to run into a lot of problems comparing console to handheld. I fully support Nintendo for allowing people the choice of what storage they use on both console and handheld. I would rather see an overall price drop on both consoles than have the prices stay the same, but include more memory.
There are a lot of people who can't see the 3D and they complain, but I have perfect vision so it's a huge plus to me. I do prefer using the 3D in perfect darkness though since any glare on the screen can offset the effect. Under a blanket at night and using headphones is like entering another world, depth included.
Umm, yeah, I own a flip phone... and it can't even take pictures. It isn't that I don't think a smart phone would be cool, because it might in some cases, but I just don't want one. Then there's the price of having that thing month to month, yeesh!
Wii U is gonna pick up as soon as the big games start rolling in. There isn't any reason to worry, it's just that people wait nowadays until the title they want comes out since they don't have the cash to drop on any games they 'kind of want'. These analysts treat the market as if it has stayed the same, people are more cautious now.
If I did this I would start with a Wii U gamepad, switch out the analog sticks for circle pads and then just rewire the buttons to replace the ones on the 3DS. The 3DS XL fits quite nicely right into the touch pad area of the Gamepad.
This game is not for Wii U, ever, in my opinion. Nintendo forgot to include analog triggers. I can almost see regular triggers working for a racing game since most of the time you're either on the brake or the gas, no in betweens, but GTA calls for a lot more precision so it doesn't look like the car has an on/off switch.
@Einherjar I've been saying this since they started the Wii Shop Channel. Club Nintendo already has all the info so what's the hold up? I tell you one thing, if I lose my 3DS and can't get my games back I'm Nintendo is going to hear about it every day until I do. Another thing that pisses me off is that fact that every video game company treats a digital copy like it's some kind of hard thing to reproduce. It isn't. If you can prove that you bought it before, say through a Club Nintendo account, then they should just give you access to those games. I can understand not being able to get a cart back. My son's 3DS got stolen with NSMB2 in it (luckily there were no downloads on it or Nintendo would have already felt my wrath) and there really wasn't anything to do about it. Digital is supposed to be safe. Alright, I'm done ranting now.
Did anyone expect Wii U to shift a crazy amount of units? The purchase has to be completely justified with a game or a couple of games in this economy and they just aren't there yet for the bulk of everyone.
One of my big gripes is that you can't simply save the game during a mission and then reset if a risky maneuver fails so you can try it again. You could always do this in the console games.
The best puzzle games leave you scratching your head followed by screaming at your TV in a blind rage. If a puzzle game has heavy narrative it usually leads you around and turns it from a puzzle game into a cushy ride. I can't say if the '7' is justified yet since I haven't played the game, but it does seem a little misplaced considering this is a puzzle game and puzzle games are supposed to be challenging and force you to look at every last detail.
... puzzle game.
Yep, I've played it now and can say without a doubt that this reviewer prefers to be hand-fed. Awesome game, I give it a 9.5/10.
That's bs. Remember that the CPP has two extra shoulder buttons so things could be mapped there so you don't have to move your thumb constantly. One stick moves Luigi and the other aims the vacuum. I could do without the motion control and quite honestly I find it impossible to keep the 3D on while having to constantly move the thing around.
That's okay with me. I thought PS4 was going to be only slightly better as far as graphics go than WiiU, but it turns out that isn't the case at all. I'll be happy (happier than with Wii) playing exclusives on the WiiU and everything else on the PS4.
They have the game ready for WiiU and have just admitted to being total ducks, that's what I heard anyway. Well, I guess I'll be skipping this game altogether then.
Really? This is pretty much the most silly package deal I have ever seen. It's been fun following the series from the start, but I don't know anyone who would actually want to go back and buy a couple beta versions when the polished jewel that is Unlimited is sitting right in front of them.
Nice, and I just watched that documentary that was following this guy and the Super Meat Boy devs. This guy seems to have one or two screws loose, but I can't say I would be any different in his shoes. At least he speaks his mind instead of feeding everyone exactly what they want to hear. Gotta respect that about him. I'll buy this game if it comes to the U.
My biggest gripe is still the omission of analog triggers, then the whole voice chat debacle. These two faults alone would make GTAV almost unplayable on WiiU if it ever gets released for WiiU. It looks like I will again be forced to buy two consoles this generation.
I actually opted not to buy ME3 WiiU because of the fact that everyone else was getting the trilogy. Bioware, give us the trilogy on WiiU and you will have my money.
@Banker-Style Actually, it made Red Steel 2 a better game if the front handle was sawed off (trigger intact of course). The nunchuk cord always got in my way and the Zapper solved that while also allowing me to wield my sword two-handed while easily hitting buttons on the Wiimote.
Ok, so the game is bad, but 1's should be reserved for games that are so full of bugs that they are unplayable. Bad controls, framerate, and overall game should be a 2 or 3 at worst. I still learned my lesson with the first Game Party on Wii and will never be fooled again by this garbage franchise.
No, I was considering this game for WiiU, but then they went and kicked themselves in the nads by releasing a trilogy on other consoles. Now I will probably never play Mass Effect.
