Re: Review: Pirates Assault (DSiWare)

Is the game actually broken? It may be terrible, but a 1 should be reserved for games that simply fail to work. I watched the video and I would say it probably ranks closer to a 3 or 4 than a 1.

Re: Hands On: Hyperkin SupaBoy Portable SNES

@Portista I know some Nintendo systems have interchangeable composite cable such as the N64 to the Gamecube. I thought the Super Nintendo was compatible with the same cable so if you can track down a gamecube composite cable you should be good to go.

Yep, just confirmed that Super Nintendo through Gamecube all have compatible composite cables and I actually found one for sale for $8 free shipping http://www.buy.com/th/s-video-to-composite-cable.html. Scroll down a bit, I think it's the third row of items.

Re: Donkey Kong and Pikmin Could Have Had Cameos in Super Mario Galaxy 2

I've also heard how Miyamoto likes to explore and make discoveries or something like that. The Pikmin might not have been interactive characters, but they could have appeared scurrying through some bushes or flowers in the background. Donkey Kong could have been made into an entire stage in the style of the old arcade Donkey Kong game. There are a number of ways they could have implemented these two characters and more.

Re: Gears of War Developer Expects Wii U Success

Alienfish

@Aviator You speak as if the only games being released alongside the WiiU are ports. Pikmin 3 is supposed to be launch window and so is Killer Freaks and Assassin's Creed 3. Those last three are frosting on the cake while the ports are like sprinkles and candy on the frosting. The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of people out there that only had a Wii for the last five years (not including myself) and I'm sure they wouldn't mind having some of those cool game they heard of on their new console that they've been saving up for. Furthermore, even if the graphics of these games are taken straight from the 360 or PS3, they will still be in native 1080p. The resolution is crap on the latter two consoles when they make graphics intensive games. Also, the argument that 720 and PS4 are going to blow WiiU out of the water in a few years is absolute nonsense. IF these consoles release with graphics far superior to WiiU, then they will also be far more expensive. No, the next line of consoles from MS and Sony will be slightly better than their previous versions and slightly better than WiiU in terms of graphics. They will also be priced to compete with Nintendo. It isn't Nintendo who is playing catch-up, don't you see that?

Re: Wii Remotes Can Help Diagnose Eye Disorder

Alienfish

That's funny, I wonder why they wouldn't use a kinect for something like this. More interesting to me is the fact that this can be done with Wii remotes. I wonder if Nintendo will ever come out with a human tracker based on the Wii remote's camera. I've said before that a kinect with a controller in hand would be ideal and potentially awesome!

Re: Feature: Nintendo's Motion Revolution

Alienfish

I think it's funny how people can be so negative about Nintendo and their ideas when it was Nintendo that made things like the iPhone possible. DS popularized touch-screen so Apple started to cash in on that and then Nintendo used motion controls and now I don't think you can find an iPhone, or any other smart phone, without a gyro and accelerometer. It isn't just smartphones either, Sony in particular slapped on Sixaxis almost immediately after Nintendo announced motion controls and now they have their very own Wiimote copies (Move). Microsoft went a different route by finding a different technology to get the job done in Kinect.

Seriously, people want Nintendo to die? If Nintendo died, the industry would probably kill itself out of pure stagnation. Nintendo does all the best things first, and I plan to be there for it all.

Re: Renegade Kid Teases New eShop Game

If the music and gameplay are anything close to as addictive as Mutant Mudds then I'll be sold as soon as it's available. I still have that tune stuck in my head and I don't mind it at all!

Re: Talking Point: Wii U and the Future of the Online Pass

I didn't read all the comments here so maybe this was already said, but I think it's ridiculous for any gaming company to try to get any cash out of resale. The person who bought the game in the first place already paid that. Car manufacturers don't charge when a vehicle is resold and I don't think game developers should be able to either.
