Re: Head Teachers in the UK Issue Warning to Parents on 18-Rated Games Being Played by Children

Acarie

As a parent I don't want anyone telling me what should go on in my house. As a gamer I know what my 4 year old should and shouldn't be playing. The 1st step should of been sending home a letter that needs to be signed and returned informing parents of those type of games. In the end I think it's up to the parents to decide what goes on. I know a lot of people who don't care what they watch or listen to but they better come home with good grades and if they act up they will get their ass beat. Personally those type of games just don't come into my house, since I don't play them either. Informing should be the path these teachers take not make threats.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Heading For a Period of Major Change, and We Can't Fight It

Im all for change, if it means more Nintendo games in people's hands then its only a good thing. Plus I think it will finally let them appeal to both causal market (mobile) and core gamer (home system). I still dont believe they can make a hybrid portable/ home console work. The type of games are to different to make work, we will still have droughts as in ill have to wait years for a grand Zelda game. I might get a small portable Zelda to fill the gap but im still waiting it just happens to be playable on one system.

Re: Reaction: The Nintendo 'NX', and Why We Think a Unified Platform is the Future

@mowerdude
I'm with ya on the whole combining idea. I don't want another gamepad remote at all, plus how is that portable? Huge screen with terrible battery life and having to charge it with a power brick isn't practical. I'm worried about the games, handheld and console games are two different beast. How do people expect a game like Xenoblade Chronicles X with 25gb to fit a handheld? They just need to make a system thats made for gamers of all types. A pro controller thats better than the one or ds4. A wiimote that kids and non gamers can use that has all the functions with the pointer function. Then from there build their new handheld around the NX.

Re: Guide: Everything We Know So Far About Nintendo's Deal With DeNA, Smart Device Plans and More

Im completely ok with this and am looking forward to it. I'll love to see a Nintendo app that has offical screen savers, ring tones and text notifications.

Plus all the little kids in my family (besides mine) are always saying how they wish they can play mario kart on the ipad after leaving my house. This is a perfect way to make it work the other way around and push Nintendo systems awareness to families. At a price tag of $129 for a 2ds for the kids that has all their new favorite games from the ipad it could really benefit Nintendo.

Plus we can finally have something to play on our phones. The reason I dont play mobile games is because I cant stand all the adds and micro transactions let me give you $3-5 and let me play in peace. We can have games like a Mario endless runner with platforming, a super monkey morph ball type game, Kirby flappy game, fire emblem clash of clains. So many things they can do and I'm excited for it!

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Highlights Nintendo's Strength in Franchises, and Goal for Wii U to "Stand Up To Time"

As a huge Nintendo fan, I just run out and buy the newest system they make, and Im sure 90% of the people here do the same. We are not the people they need to convince to buy, its all the other people that need convincing. I don't watch much TV but I've never seen a Wii U commercial on anything that I or my wife watches. I did see some on if I remember Nick Jr maybe? I dont understand how that is advertising, my 4 year old son isn't running out to buy a Wii U or 3DS. They need to advertise to the masses and same thing with all the Youtubers, that is marking to a certain type of person. I have no idea who iJustine is, not until my wife told me who she was. I honestly thought she was a rip off of icarly. They just need to start advertising to everyone, make it the cool system to own like the PS4 and XBox one. They have the money to hire an advertising company so why dont they?
Even tho I love my Wii U, it wasn't a good idea to make. They followed the causal crowd that moved to tablet/ mobile gaming. I realized in 20+ years from now if I want to play Zelda U or any great game from this system, I probably couldnt because Im sure the gamepad screen isn't going to hold up over time.
But it is what it is with the Wii U and them doing so poorly will just make them work harder. Look at what Phil Spencer is doing for Xbox he completely turned it around for them. It was a complete laughing stock and now its turning into a great system to own. I plan on picking one up when Rise of the Tomb Raider comes out hopefully Gears soon after. Nintendo really just needs to take a pointer from Sony. The PS4 is an awesome system I was holding out until a "must have" but I'm glad I just gave in and got it. Other than the sloppy UI they really did everything right with it, share play is incredible, where I can jump into my friends game and play with him as if we where on the same couch with only one copy of the game is awesome. Point is tho I really hope Nintendo can turn it around and stop looking for that "one" game to take them to paradise and focus on the bigger picture.

Re: Chrono Trigger Turns 20, but is Ultimately Timeless

I remember turning 10 years old and my dad taking me to Toys R Us. Ive never even heard of the game before. I was just walking down the video game lane, saw the box art and pointed at it and said that one! Took my pull out sheet and to the register and got my copy. I really think that was the game that made me a gamer for the rest of my life, everything about it was magical, going through the story 3-4 times that summer and never using Rob once! Goid times.

Day one buy for me. I loved the demo and after Awakening I have full faith in them. To bad I have to wait to use my fire emblem amiibo until the add on comes out for the old 3ds.

Re: Remake Request: Super Metroid 3D on Nintendo 3DS

I might be the only person ever to say this but Other M is my favorite Metroid game. I loved that they talked and had personality. And everyone points at the Ridley scene where she gets scared. Im pretty sure she freezes up every time he shows up in every game, just not at the detail its been shown with Other M. But anyway my dream Metroid games will be a 3rd person exploring/ shooter with cover base combat, Zelda meets Gears of War. And a Zero Suit Samus adventure game like Uncharted/ Tomb Raider.

I'm with you on firing who ever picks the weekly games for NOA. Every club Nintendo survey I filled out I Said how disappointing its been. Ive been waiting on Zero Missions forever, but I hope we get it a month from now. Hard to explain to the wife why I'm buying it when I have Code name STEAM on Friday then next week Resident Evil Revelations 2 and Final Fantasy type 0.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th February (North America)

Ive been really disappointed with Nintendo lately, especially the Wii U. The last Wii U game I bought was smash bros. Virtual console is a complete joke, I've been waiting on Zero Missions since they announced GBA console. Forced gamepad use on games is really keeping me from buying into the system. After playing sonic lost world and batman I refuse to buy a game that only supports gamepad controls. The battery life is terrible and to big where my hands fall asleep after a little while of playing. I love Nintendo but I feel nickel and dimed having to buy an external hard drive a New 3DS XL, the way I see it is I just spent $60 on a HD and not $60 on a new game. I've been wanting to turn on my Wii U but less and less its being used and these Thursday updates isnt giving me confidence in changing that any time soon.

Re: Satoru Iwata Shares Confidence in Hitting Targets, Mii-Focused Smartphone App to be Announced in Q2

Acarie

I think Nintendo should really focus on making a more diverse set of games. Even tho platformers are one of my favorite type of games. I really enjoy hack and slash, adventure games, 3rd person shooters. I would love to see a Diablo style game with Nintendo characters with Amiibo support. Imagine playing as Link tapping a Mario Amiibo and having him help you out on tough spots. Or a Tomb Raider/ Uncharted adventure with Zero Suit Samus trying to get her Power Suit back. I dont need Mature games to enjoy my game time but I do want choices and right now Nintendo isnt getting any help from 3rd party.
And with the whole Mii thing, I wouldnt even have one if they if I wasnt forced to make one.

Im getting metroid prime trilogy, even tho I much perfer the GameCube controls and own the three already. I was hoping for zero missions to be out today also. NOA is really disappointing with the games they don't release. Mario RPG, Golden Sun 2, N64 games, Gamecube, DS games. I really want Twilight Princess with out the gimped wii mote controls.

Re: Satoru Iwata Highlights Frustration at Missed Wii U Features and Aims to Improve for Next-Gen Hardware

Acarie

I would like to see stronger usb output so you dont have to use two to power anything. A large hard drive 500gb+. If they keep the Wii brand then redesign the wii mote where it has a 3ds slider instead of the d pad with more buttons and upgrade the pro controller with better triggers and joysticks with a camera on it like the ps4. I also want it be able to play every Nintendo made game on it.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Admits That Super Smash Bros. for Wii U May Be His Last in the Series

Acarie

I think it will be good if he left. He did an awesome job with smash 3DS/ Wii U but he does force alot of issues onto himself. Like he not trusting anyone else to do the programing for the hit boxes and stuff like that. If nintendo gave smash to a dedicated team it might improve the series overall. Plus he never listenes to any criticism, like the controls of kid icaurs or the d pad support.
