Re: Masahiro Sakurai Provides Another Look at Super Smash Bros. Modes

3Daniel

@edgedino thanks. I was wondering if I should pick a cpp up. I don't mind the lack of a "cstick" but am worried about how flat the 3ds is when holding for long periods of time. Any suggestions of grips out there? I'll do a google search later. Already took off of work that weekend and I'm trying to be prepared haha.

Re: Poll: Tell Us What You Think of the New Nintendo 3DS

3Daniel

its like Nintendo doesn't want my $ fast enough. This should have been bundled with Smash for its release! also I know I'll be in the minority and that it wouldn't make the best business since see as this is an upgrade and not a true successor to the 3ds system but I would rather every game released after its debut to be "new" only and take advantage of its features.

Re: Resident Evil Revelations 2 Confirmed By Capcom, Skipping Nintendo Systems

3Daniel

If the title isn't being built from the ground up for the 3ds like the first was I don't mind it skipping the handheld altogether. Part of the charm of the 3ds title was that it IS a portable Resident Evil. If it maintains the same structure and is not just a "plot continuation" then I get the criticism. Many devs have stated the similarity in xbox and ps hardware so I'd rather just have the glorious Revelations on the 3ds than a watered down port of a sequel that wasn't planned for the system from the get go. Now if they announced Revelations 2 for the 3ds or new3ds and it retained its gloriously cheesey chapter and recaps I'd day 1 it. If not, I'll just spend my money on MH4U.

edit @caPPa agree!

Re: Resident Evil Revelations 2 Confirmed By Capcom, Skipping Nintendo Systems

3Daniel

I wonder what went into this decision tho.
It sold the best on the 3ds.
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Resident+Evil%3A+Revelations

it reviewed the best on the 3ds.
http://www.metacritic.com/search/all/resident%20evil%20revelations/results

I for one loved the episodic structure of the title and the 3d effect and feel that Revelations is best suited as a portable title. Unless they overhaul the structure and do away with all of Revelation's unique features they shouldn't call it Revelations 2. Perhaps we'll see this as a "new" title someday.

Re: Gallery: It's Time for a Shulk Super Smash Bros. Blowout

3Daniel

@Grumblevolcano I liked Other M. The plot had bigger issues than the submissive role Samus played IMO(the deleter, Sector Zero, the Commander's son being a missed opportunity). I loved the use of 2d and 3d roaming but it needed an analogue input. The dodge and combat mechanics were fun. The music was awesome, most of the boss battles were cool (the final boss was a total let down as I beat her in under 3 seconds by aiming at the center of the screen during the cutscene). The first person perspective was poorly implemented. I just think it's sad that we live in a day and age where Smash Bros has devolved into the type of trash that would showcase Video Game's epic heroes wearing crocs.

Re: Gallery: It's Time for a Shulk Super Smash Bros. Blowout

3Daniel

relax everyone. Shulk's MALE designer worked really hard to finish programming this alt costume into the game in time for the deadline. said no one. because a hairless 17 year old boy in tiny shorts and clogs needs no explanation. yet, a female warrior in her mid twenties can't wear athletic gear without having to justify the programmer's sex. that is the real issue. or not. just a thought. still hate the crocs. still a day 1 purchase. go nintendo.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Models Announced

3Daniel

I'm without a doubt buying one. I wanted this before 3DS XL was announced. This took way to long tho and should have already bee on international shelves by summer 2014. Tho I'm very cautious about the whole only "new compatible" games aspect as I would rather every 3ds game moving forward take advantage of the improvements instead of a handful...

Re: New Legend Of Zelda "Only Possible" Thanks To The Wii U Hardware, Says Eiji Aonuma

3Daniel

The map feature of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks would be divine. Especially with the ability to zoom in said map so you have a lot more writing room. I also hope we get at least one "uncharted" island where we are left to our own devices to define the landscape and points of interest. Personally sharing maps and replaying the title by relying on another gamer's map would be awesome. Perhaps a single randomly generated dungeon in the mix tied to another player's map would be interesting and a great way to use Miiverse sharing. Just a map and or inventory screen on the pad would be lackluster.

Re: Somebody At Ubisoft Really Doesn't Like Mario Kart 8's Mercedes-Benz DLC

3Daniel

@DrSlump Chocolate drizzled fried onion is delicious!

I don't think it's wrong to voice the opinion about this particular cross promotion. Personally I have no issue with it. If you don't like it just target those shells at every mercedes you see! What I do think is wrong is if an employee loses their job over it so here's hoping that doesn't happen!

Re: Brinstar Confirmed as Classic Stage for Smash Bros. 3DS

3Daniel

It actually looks as if Samus has had a reduction from Brawl if you catch my drift. She looks more naturally proportioned, tho she is sporting some serious Shaq foot. ZSS was a fav of mine in Brawl and judging from the Treehouse and E3 tournament she looks to be a much better combatant this time around.

Re: Pokémon Contest Details Confirmed for Ruby and Sapphire Remakes

3Daniel

I loved contests and was dissapointed by every attempt to emulate them since Gen 3. I'm torn as to getting these remakes tho as there are still 2 pokemon with no planned release for x and y. volcanion and hoopla. I would hate to have to plunk down more $ for omega and alpha to gain access to them if they ever see the light of day.

Re: Sakurai Explains Why Chrom Didn't Make It Into Super Smash Bros. For Wii U And 3DS

3Daniel

@piojito_O I love Toon Link and have always enjoyed the style. I never understood the hate during Wind Waker's reveal. Personally I find the ALbW design to be far too generic so I'm pleased they stuck with Toon. I find Link's moveset to be better suited to the speed increase with the shorter Links. "Normal" Link needs more weight and more power. The Gale Boomerang was useless in Brawl so hopefully there will be more of a push and pull this time around. If not, he would benefit from some sort of a stun attack because I find his smash attacks too slow and weak.

Re: Sakurai Explains Why Chrom Didn't Make It Into Super Smash Bros. For Wii U And 3DS

3Daniel

I've always had trouble utilizing Marth in Smash so I like Lucina as a clone. However I hope she has an alt Masked version. I'm still holding out for Isaac as his synergy could differentiate himself from Robin. If not Isaac than his son from Dusk so there's no Japanese name confusion. I think a vehicle based character like Excitebike racer would be awesome. Marlo from Pushmo or Layton would be nice or at least a Pushmo stage. Nintendo has a great selection of puzzlers that have yet to be represented in a Smash title.

Re: Captain Falcon, Lucina and Robin All Join The Super Smash Bros. Roster

3Daniel

I think Chrom will be an alt skin for Lucina. They share the same sword in the screenshots but Robin's final smash looks to use him. Oh well. Lucina should have been a Marth skin. I love Fire Emblem but with the character choices you wouldn't think the series had lances, spears, axes, hammers, bows, hatchets, rapiers, or javelins etc. Robin at least breaks the mold with tomes.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Beware the Slippery Slope of Sponsored DLC

3Daniel

also as an intelligent mature and free thinking individual i have no issue with tossing shells and sliding around banana peels while karting in a mercedes. i actually want this dlc. if for nothing else then my own amusement. for those that take a spin with this dlc and then rush out to buy a luxury vehicle because mario "told" them is their business.

Re: Nintendo Executive Suggests Wii U is at a "Tipping Point" Towards Success

3Daniel

the fact that after mk8 theres really nothing outside of indies on the eshop or wiisports to look foward till september/october isnt going to help the momentum. in fact i predict most people who havent made the jump to the system will once again forget its existence. even if E3 was great. maybe I'm just bitter that Nintendo cluttered all the titles I wanted into a 2 month span and is forcibg me to pick and choose which to get, which to wait and which to forget.

Re: Mario Maker to Include Additional Graphical Styles, Sharing Levels is "Really The Whole Point"

3Daniel

@MinecraftGreek id love for them too but considering how long its taken for them to finally give an official mario editor i douvt it. tho if this is a huge success and doesnt cut into future mario title sales than i dont see why they wouldnt. tho even just looking at whats been shown i can definately see some dedicated players recreating other methods of gameplay. like recreating zelda dungeons but with mario style of play.

Re: Mario Maker to Include Additional Graphical Styles, Sharing Levels is "Really The Whole Point"

3Daniel

im assuming each map must have a flagpole and that the player must reach said flagpole in order to be able to complete the level and upload it. so while the graphics may differ, if say you can use a link or samus character instead of mario, the design itself will stay true to mario. i.e. you move left to right and finish when you reach the flagpole. mariovsdonkey kong minismarchagain is most likely the template for how editing and sharing will work. tho uldated of course to feature miiverse if possible.

Re: Reaction: Our Thoughts on Nintendo's Big Day at E3

3Daniel

i thought nintendo's e3 made owning a wii u this holiday season essential. as october thru all of 2015 looks great. the games look great! but for those who already own a wii u it looks like another drought is upon us in EU and US. mario maker would have been a fantastic summer release. hopefully mario kart dlc comes out soon as battle mode is already a chore slogging thru the same tracks you race on.
