Re: Level-5 Announces Wonder Flick, A New RPG Coming To The Wii U In Japan Next Year

pricing will determine whether or not I get it. I despise gaming on my android as I have yet to see it as a viable option when it comes to control and overall quality, but for a game that's essentially built around mobile/tablet and the high cost of developing for a console, with no eshop release on the 3ds?????, most likely bringing a higher price... no thanks. cute idea tho.

Re: Feature: A Week of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Screens - Issue One

3Daniel

i liked Metroid other m's story. if samus was a male I don't think many people would have taken issue with the emotional aspect of the game, but because samus is a woman its ok for her to be a silent killer, but not ok for her to have emotion... there were several revelations in the plot, ridley's species, samus going from federation to lone bounty hunter and back again, maybe sylux's backstory and reason for his hatred of the federation. the only complaints I had were that the deleter subplot went nowhere, you didn't get to explore sector zero, and I beat the final boss segment in 2 seconds (simply ready the wiimote at the center of the screen during the cutscene and fire a missle when prompted, viola!)

my fav screenshot isn't listed but it's todays where the villager looks like he's got luigi's nose.

EDIT: those shadows in the luigi vs megaman pic are absolutely gorgeous. the circle blobs in the 3ds screens are shameful in comparison, tho rightfully so with the limited capabilities when compared.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Hero Mode Details Sail Into View

3Daniel

while this will definitely be a day 1 purchase for me, as every Zelda title even the rereleases essentially are, I just watched a video of wwhd's helmaroc battle and its disappointing to me that they haven't fixed some irritating camera issues. running along the sides of a spiraling ramp make for a cool set piece but the experience is hampered by the camera catching the walls forcing the player to rotate it around themselves, sometimes getting stuck in front of the character. while the overall sheen to the graphics is passable, if unnecessary, its moments like these that disappoint. a lack of a master quest or new dungeon is also a let down. Nintendo has a habit of making official polls, in this case they asked if we would like to see new content, and not following through with the results. geno for brawl anyone?
also @jaxonh i'm still seeing it listed as $49.99 US.

if it indeed is shot up to $59.99, the original true cell shaded graphics better be an option.

Re: Chasing Aurora Began as a Prototype Based on Secrets of Raetikon, was Developed in Five Months

3Daniel

even a single player focus on puzzle solving couldn't have saved it. the game is incredibly shallow and its mechanics are one note at best and that price was horrendous. Even when it reached 7.99 it was still way overpriced. I never understood the favourable media attention it got and yes playing with 5 people ups the enjoyment but only in the same way as having 5 people play with a dog turd vs playing with said turd yourself. if this is the level of quality this studio can produce and release then i simply have no faith in anything else they can do.

Re: Video: Rejected CGI Zelda Film Discovered Online

3Daniel

generic anime inspired american design aside, i always thought cgi would be better suited for a zelda movie then live action. I think the formula would be great for a pixar film but itll never happen seeing how poorly mario bros was received(i love it tho).

Re: Review: Pikmin 3 (Wii U)

3Daniel

Let me rephrase so my question doesnt get ignored. The day cycle. During story mode does it affect the amount of time you can play? Like the first one where at the end of the day you had to continue the next day? I know there iz no 30 day limit in this game. Or is each mission considered 1 day? Even if it takes you 2 hours to complete it?

EDIT: nvm another review answered my question.

Re: Review: Pikmin 3 (Wii U)

3Daniel

How does the time limit affect gameplay? When a day ends your current mission progress is saved as is or do you start over the next day? As in do you have to reopen gatez youve done so before? Or is the day cycle a nonissue in story mode?

Re: Soul Calibur II HD Online Not Announced For Wii U

3Daniel

Simply put namco doesnt want the added licensing fees. Spawn wont be back. Haihachi is already owned by namco. SC2 sold best on gamecube, but i dont think ttt2 did that well on wii u despite the nintendo licensed costumes. I absolutely love ttt2 by the way.

Re: Just 3% of All Ubisoft's Sales Came From Wii U in Q2 2013

3Daniel

The real answers would come from the number of titles released on other systems. If ubisoft managed to generate 3 % of 2013 sales from a crappy game released in 2012 then thats actually a great thing and shows that the wii u audience is there and starving for content. Had they released legends as originally planned it would have boosted their sales.

Re: Pikmin 3 is Playable Next Weekend At GameStop or EB Games

3Daniel

If you have the deluxe console essentially you get 5$ eshop credit with download. I'm still highly disappointed ninte do keeps tying demos to retail stores when they are capable of reaching a larger audience with demos on the eshop itself. Pikmin, as much as I love the franchise, has shown its not a system seller. And if Nintendo really has all these games up its sleeve ready for announcement and possible release they sure should have shown something. Their direct videos were supposed to showcase games that were up and coming and as the pre e3 direct in the beginning of the year has shown that every game announced was eventually pushed back anyway. Aug 4th cant come soon enough but the fact that ive gotten more use out of my wii u's wii mode sorta scares me for the console's future. Wind waker dropped the ball for me with its lack of additional content. Mario 3d world and dkfreeze are on the wrong device imo and the truely AAA titles are 6+ months away. Thats a lot riding on Pikmin3 to reach a more substantial audience.

Re: The Pokémon Company Lays Down The Law On Cheaters

3Daniel

@Stark_Nebula my point is by nintendo saying that by battling someone who is cheating in xy my save can be corrupted i will hold off on my purchase till i get official clarification. Because while what everyone is saying about past games and it not neing true may not be the case for xy.

Re: The Pokémon Company Lays Down The Law On Cheaters

3Daniel

I dont like the thought of my game being corrupted due to random match up with someone cheating. Thats a strong concern considering how much time goes into these games. If nintedolife staff get a chance to interview gamefreak please ask them to elaborate and what safegaurds will be in place to prevent an innocent bystander from corrupting game.

Re: Sakurai Explains The Reasoning Behind The New Characters in Super Smash Bros.

3Daniel

I still say Sony can take a lesson from Sakurai on how to incorporate nonfighting characters into a fighting game and wii fit trainer solidified it. Her moveset looks great for in and out damage and her emotionless face is hilarious. Cant wait to give her a twirl. Im also pleased with megaman not being able to punch or kick and instead having to rely on his arsenal of projectiles. And the villagers grab and pocket mechanics look adorable.

Re: Nintendo May Have Eased Off On Its Claims To 'Let's Play' Ad Revenues

3Daniel

Might have been a conspiracy i made up but the initial announcement came out before e3 and during that time of e3 all nintendo related videos on youtube were followed with ads for sony and xbox content. I assumed nintendo did this as a means to to counter sony and microaoft's aggressive use of youtube ads. But i have no clue how that stuff works so i could be wrong.

Re: Retro Studios Working on "One Major Project at a Time"

3Daniel

my issue isnt with dkr getting a sequel, its with two things. 1. console platformers have dynamic cameras and its nothing new. this game would have shined on the 3ds as the platformers released for the handheld have been pretty flat as far as camera is concerned. 2. retro already laid the groundwork with dkr so this game could have been handled by a different studio entirely. I love me some Metroid but an original retro ip released in 2013 would have gone a great length to salvage the bait and switch Nintendo pulled with the wii u. they wanted hardcore gamers to flock to the system but then pad the holiday season with "casual" titles, even 3d world Mario went casual and imo should be on the 3ds as well. and bonus gripe! dk is pretty furry in this title, but so was fox in adventures. and he looks pretty damn furry in smash so don't go boasting about it.
regardless ill probably pick this up as theres not much else I am looking forward too.

Re: Zelda Series Timeline Wasn't Planned From the Beginning

3Daniel

The timeline came into being with OoT. Its rumoured that you were originally to explore past present and future rezulting in the three way split but along the way they cut out one of the times.
Regardless the timeline is just cherry on top of great characters gameplay and music.

Re: Miyamoto: Consumers Should Have Access To Their Games "For A Long Time"

3Daniel

Love me some Myamoto but he's delusional if he thinks Nintendo's goals are to keep games in gamers hands when their own method of digital distribution prevents me from maintaining my games if something happens to say my 3ds. Even sending in for repairs to Nintendo may cause permanent loss of games. Sigh. I was hoping theyd touch on the issue at E3 but whatever, ride the Microsoft bashing bandwagon.
I'm speaking from experience.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Lineup Makes Commercial Sense

3Daniel

VIDEO but pretty much every major title from the last direct got pushed back on Wii U to focus on casual titles. Only problem is Nintendo wanted the "core" gamer and marketed it that way from the get go. Hope core gamers like wii party and wii fit. I enjoy the latter not the former. The Wii U is crowded with minigame collections already. Also wit

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Lineup Makes Commercial Sense

3Daniel

I feel mario 3d world and dk tropical breeze should have been 3ds titles seeing as regardless of the dynamic camera in dk its still a "flat" image and 3d world's viewpoint is better served in stereoscopic 3d. No metroid is a bummer and most hardcore, hate the term, titles are hitting in 2014. Smash. Bayonetta 2. I LOVED THE DIRECT

Re: Rumour: Best Buy's Wii U E3 Demo List Revealed

3Daniel

Whats really disappointing is that nintendo isnt also utilising the eshop for these demos. E3 would be awesome for nintendo IMO if you could witness the nintendo direct spectacle on your wii u then try the demoes on the eshop from your wii u. Maybe next year...
with having a job its not really practical to drive over an hour out of my way to find the nearest best buy let alone a participating one. I WANT to try these demos. My complaint is the means of distribution. People demanding others to grow up should realize projection is the sincerest form of delusion there is.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms Smash Bros. Reveal For Next Week's Nintendo Direct

3Daniel

@AJWolfTill hopefully the two screens would give 2it viewpoints. One a closeup and the other full view of battle. Not being able to see what your competition is up to would hinder gameplay. Imagine not seeing your opponent carrying a bombomb because they arent in sight or if you couldnt see someone edge gaurding because the camera was focused on you off stage.
