Re: Interview: Console Wars Author Blake J. Harris Discusses Film Adaptations and the Struggles of Sega

True I've missed a lot. I've only played Famicom back in the late 80s, a bit of SNES, more mega drive and a lot of PlayStation 1. I just came back to console gaming late last year and I chose the Wii U over the PS4. Reasons are: I can play Wii games, old Nintendo games through virtual console, and I have a kid so local multiplayer is what sealed my decision to get the Wii U.

I'm playing catch up and there are so many Wii games on my must-buy list. the others I'm still waiting to be released on Wii U VC since I'm in no hurry to get them on Wii VC.

Why didn't you throw the blue shell on Tom? I thought you came back to get and throw it.

Well I'm not picking up the LE I pre-ordered at GameStop day 1. After thoroughly thinking, I don't really like the blue shell figurine. Plus with DLCs likely to come, I'd rather have it all in one place digitally.

Personally I dislike the dashing animation. I'd still like to see the character with a bit of energy and blurry animation. Not to be engulf completely with energy. Plus don't you think it's too over powered? Just shoot and dash. I have a feeling it will get boring quickly.

But this one is way better looking than any Rockman I've played. The enemies are pretty detailed too. I love that one on the ceiling that shot Beck with a rocket.

Yes. I've asked the same thing before. It shows what you can see on the TV according to Damo. I haven't tried yet but I've played a few race this morning. (I was too sleepy to wait for the download last night.)

Is there anyway to play on wiimote using the DPad ONLY for steering? I personally prefer the DPad on the gamepad and pro controller. I rarely use the sticks except for scrolling down menus on eshop/webpage.

@Collinhall
Long story but I will explain it briefly.

With Nintendo Network ID already in place, I have reason to believe that digital purchases will carry on to the next Nintendo console after the Wii U if you register the same NNID. I don't want to have paid DLCs by then and won't have the base game on next gen (or the gen after). I will be forced to pay for the base game again to enjoy the DLCs. Assuming it won't be backwards disc compatible or if I ever lose my physical copy.

It doesn't mean I will completely abandon physical discs. For games that are "complete" (DLCs included), I will still buy them physically like SMBU+SMLU, SM3DW, DKTF, LoZ:Windwaker HD, and others as I can still play them on other Wii Us without needing to buy the DLCs again for a complete experience.

This is why I'm getting Pikmin 3 as the bonus digital download for MK8 because it has paid DLCs. It might carry on the next gen console.

So only for those who gets the game before release day? I'd be picking up my LE copy Friday afternoon.

And it's not enough reason for me to go digital. Tell me something like DLCs will come (free or not) or we get mario kart for N64 VC and GBA VC for free upon release then I'd go digital.

I should have bought that 42 euro sale in Amazon France. I heard some French players got their copies since Monday.

@Beta
Go for City if you ask me. It's made by rocksteady who also made arkham asylum and the upcoming arkham knight. Plus it's a complete game with all DLCs included. Origins is a prequel made by WB Montreal if I'm not mistaken and you are missing some DLCs which isn't released on the Wii U. Plus they said it was buggy.

( I've only played Arkham Asylum)

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th May (Europe)

Arkham City is tempting. But I want Arkham Asylum and Knight also on Wii U if I have to buy it. So maybe.

I'm on the brink of getting MK8 on eshop instead of that limited edition I pre-ordered.. Just one more reason before Friday. Convince me on going digital NLifers. Decisions decisions...

Edit:
Arkham City is just 8 pounds on amazon UK so I'll pass.

Re: Digital Foundry Pins Down Mario Kart 8's Resolution and Framerate

Don't hate Digital Foundry. They're just doing the FPS/res test just like they do on other games if I'm not mistaken. But this would be something to joke or laugh about on ps4one articles and would be sensationalized by some gaming sites.

I guess that's why we didn't get a second screen multiplayer on the gamepad. The hardware were pushed to it's limits. Maybe it's still possible but in lower resolution or frame rate. And Nintendo decided not to do it to give us the best experience possible.
