Yesterday's surprise Nintendo Direct uncovered a pleasing amount of new games, as well as some great new content for those we already know and love. One new title, at least for western audiences, is Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers.
Previously announced for Japan, Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers sees action meet tower-defence, as Dillon and an animalised version of your own Mii race around to defeat enemies. Your friends' Mii characters can join in on the action, too, appearing as extra gunners within the game as you try to take down the transforming monsters around you. You can check out Dillon's segment of the Nintendo Direct below.
The game is set to launch in North America on 24th May, with a 25th May release date for Europe. A demo for the game is also scheduled to be available two weeks before release on 10th May, allowing you to check out the action before you buy.
Will you be trying out Dillon's latest adventure in a couple of months' time? Let us know in the comments below.

I find it so weird that Dillon keeps coming back. The first couple must have sold reasonably well, or they just really enjoy developing these games. They seem to have taken a pretty creative approach this time around.
Took NL this long to report, seems like no one cares about this game. It's Nintendo's worst franchise.
Can you say "too late"?
I didn't mind the first game, but ultimately never finished it because the racing from tower to tower started to feel like a chore. It had potential, but I feel like the gameplay style is better suited to offensive play than defensive. If they must do another title, it seems like a missed opportunity not to drop it on the switch.
I never heard of this series before. The character's design feels like a Sonic & Knuckles knockoff, but there's something charming about him. But as soon as I saw those furry Miis I noped out.
Looks like it has some interesting gameplay but ill wait for some reviews.
I loved playing the first one, but it was no walk in the park. I planned on getting the sequel after I beat the first one, but never could. Now that I'm glued to my Switch these days, I think I have to let this one pass me by. Though I'm glad to see that Nintendo's still putting a little love into this franchise.
You forgot to mention that it's also coming to stores in Europe. I distinctly heard them say ''rolls out into stores and Nintendo eShop''. They just said 'Nintendo eShop' in the US version though strangely. Either way it IS getting a RETAIL VERSION! Seems like pretty important information for fans of physical copies, really.
I think this looks really cool. I will probably pick it up.
@Nincompoop 😂 nope these are pretty decent. Urban Champions however.
I really love this series, I'm almost as excited for this as I am for Smash!
Never quite managed to beat the final boss of the second game though, so I had better get on that.
I liked the first two games a lot, and this looks to be the best one yet. I just really hope they allow us to use buttons only this time because having to constantly swipe the touch screen to get around in the first two was annoying. Not to mention completely unnecessary. The 3DS has more than enough buttons that that sort of control scheme isn't necessary.
I didn’t know about this game until very recently. I tried the demo today and I must say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised! I don’t know if the full game is about “battle races” but the demo was incredibly fun. I might need to pick this along with Luigi’s Mansion. Probably the two last games I’ll buy for my 3DS.
Never played a Dillon game but will check out the demo for sure.
Big Dillon fan, so I'm excited for this. Nintendo...why won't you make a 3ds player?
I really loved the second game, it is actually one of my favorite games on the 3DS. I was really hoping they would have brought us one to Switch.
Enjoyed the first one on 3DS but no longer have my 3DS so will skip this one...
Furry bait. And it works. Consider me interested.
I was afraid this might not come over. Yay!
Everything about the game looks awesome aside from the horribly out of place Miis. Why. Simply why. could there not be any custom character creator in-game? Every other character model looks incredibly charming and is in the games own unique art style, and then you have straight up mii faces from mii maker like who thought this was fitting??
@JoeyJoey95 Good for you! I'm a fan of physical copies as well so I know that feeling. Hope you can properly import one! Who knows how hard they might be to get.
Awesome to see this, though still disappointed that none of the games ever arrived on the Wii U. I enjoyed the first Dillon's Rolling Western, but the nature of the game meant levels were exhausting by the end; certainly more of a console experience than a handheld one.
I really need to get around to completing that game at some point... and it's sequel... and of course this one. The series continues to look fantastically fun, so I'm hoping this does well; I hope to see more Dillon in the future.
Edit: Did I hear someone say it is coming to stores for the UK? Oh gosh, I'll definitely be getting this game if it has a physical version!
@Nincompoop How so?
Is anyone else getting this. I tried the game after getting it. The beginning starts off like the demo. But when I try to leave to the lobby, the game closes and restarts my 3ds. I dunno why
