The developer has recently stated on Twitter that the game is 90% finished and will release at the end of the year / early 2015

I really enjoyed BO2 on my Wii U. It's one of the few great experiences I have had on the system. Playing zombies with my friend online while having my own screen was awesome. I am gonna pick the game up again soon, I just hope there is still a bunch of people playing online.

@Galenmereth Everything you said I agree with. It IS offensive. Nintendo acts like they are the makers of V-Smile or Leapfrog. Under 18 is not their ONLY demographic by a long shot. I'm 23 and a lot of my friends own 3DS's. Do we ever use them? Hardly, but that's a different topic...

McGruber commented on Developer Hints At How Minecraft Could Shape U...:

I'm sure Minecraft technically could work on 3DS, but I don't see the developer putting in the effort to downscale it. Clearly no 3rd parties want to develop for the system, even with it's decent install base. I'm really hoping the 3DS successor is announced in the next year. Nintendo needs to start putting out machines that appeal to 3rd parties (which means it appeals to more than children and families). I personally would rather pay more up front for something quality than what we have gotten with the horrible 3DS models.

Don't feel bad if you don't have it! Its a horribly slow app that is only good for the TV guide. This latest update is not an improvement either. All they did was take away half the features to make it load faster?? You can no longer search for shows by whether they have TVTag, which was the only good feature to begin with. I also can't seem to switch from MLB to any other sport. Honestly just download the TV Tag App on your phone. It does everything NTV does, and much faster.

McGruber commented on Ubisoft Makes Little Mention of Nintendo in Pl...:

Nintendo put out a system that only appeals to longtime Nintendo fans and familys. Those two groups do not buy 3rd party games historically, especially not mature themed games. The part that still gets me is how naive Nintendo was in thinking WiiU ever appealed to gamers. In order to do that they needed to offer everything gamers love about 360/PS3: great online, achievements, social features, and GAMES. They had the nerve to act like 3rd parties would flourish on WiiU given everything going against that notion. Iwata should step down for being so out of touch with reality.

McGruber commented on Former Criterion Boss Alex Ward Laments Issues...:

The game would never have sold well primarily because of Nintendos failures with WiiU from the very start. That said, this is one of the very best games on the system AND it has WiiU specific features and actually looks BETTER than 360. So yea Nintendo could and should have supported it through email ads, Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Minute, etc. Nobody is saying they should have financed commercials or subway ads...

There's a total of 2 WiiU games I care about this year : Mario Kart and Smash. That's terrible. I don't think they have hit bottom yet though. The WiiU is going to be the first real flop system. They are already losing money on every system sold, whereas the GameCube was never sold at a loss.

McGruber commented on Nintendo Still Seeking a Product to Define the...:

The best feature of the gamepad will always be off TV play and the built in universal remote. So maybe the real failure is that they never successfully advertised that feature. Instead of having random families in Hollywood squares they should have done a simple commercial with a kid and his sister fighting over the TV ...

I am a WiiU owner, and while I really like the game pad (not so much it's design), there are close to no games for me on the system! And I am a Nintendo fan! But I am not 13 I am 23 and so Nintnedo's software is not always what I want, and it certainly isn't ALL I want.

That being said. I don't think Nintendo has a prob appealing to kids and families, even though so far WiiU hasn't...

The BIGGEST PROBLEM is that Nintendo now has MILLIONS of FANS in the world who know they love Nintendo games, but can't be compelled to buy a system exclusivly to play Nintendo games.

I'm not impressed. Nintendo needs to expand so that they can offer more first party content if they want to survive. They clearly lost 3rd parties and I feel like they are foolish for not acquiring a big studio by now given the game situation they have. Capcom would be huge.

This deal made me repurchase a Wii U and it has me thinking...Nintendo can't afford to lower the price and said they wont, but why the hell don't they just throw some more games in there for $299??! They need to fix a lot of things with Wii U going forward, but right now they can make moves to sell systems.

McGruber commented on A Third-Party "Secret Developer" Gives an Insi...:

I just want to point out that even though the 3DS is selling well, third party support is just as bad as Wii U and a lot of that also has to do with specs and lack of duel analog. Anyone who thinks Nintendo needs to just forget about 3rd parties is an idiot. There are a lot of people like myself that enjoy Nintendo games (not all), but desperately want to be able to play more 3rd party games. It's the reason I don't own a Wii U and frankly don't own more 3DS games. The game I want to play just aren't there. That is a loss for Nintendo

I read the whole article and it was a very good read. At this point I am not surprised by anything though, except that nobody at Nintendo used Live or PSN. I also think this person hit the nail on the head in terms of the future of WiiU. It will sell in small quantities until Nintendo puts out a killer app, but even then it won't match PS4/One sales and real 3rd party support is all but gone regardless. Maybe Nintendo will learn from this and really give us the console we want next time.

McGruber commented on Hyrule Warriors Is Zelda Meets Dynasty Warrior...:

While this is a game that I would probably love, I can't help but wonder about the implications of this. We've seen Nintendo let 3rd party studios take a shot at their franchises before with mixed results (Metroid Other M comes to mind). Seems like one of their only viable options considering the situation. They aren't going to buy any huge studios or quit the console race any time soon, so their main objective is simply filling out that Wii U lineup. A game like this has a quick turnaround, and will make a nice profit even if review scores are low.

Of course it's not coming in spring. Nintendo being the only company that puts AAA games on their platforms can only afford to have one AAA game a season. Smash Bros is prob next years holiday season "Wii U saver " just like 3D World

Also, aside from Miiverse, which is never advertised anyway, Nintendo has done an ATROCIOUS job at catering to gamers. They said this system was supposed to be more about what core gamers want, but aside from Miiverse and some M rated ports from 3rd parties, they did nothing. A more feature rich system, an account system, and games like Metroid Prime 4 instead of NintendoLand (which is still great in it's own right) would have done them wonders. Now they are stuck pandering to parents, who a majority don't see the point in another Wii when they already have one...

I don't think it's a question of whether gamers and people in general still like Nintendo type gaming experiences. I think Nintendo just does a HORRIBLE job, at least in the US, of marketing them. When I bought a Wii U, I had my friend over to play some Nintendo Land. He is XBOX all the way, and has never even owned a Nintendo console that I know of. When we played some of the multiplayer games on there like Chase Mii, I think we were both surprised by how awesomely fun and funny they were to play. The problem is neither of us would have had a clue of these type of experiences if I didn't buy a Wii U on day one. I later sold the thing because of the lack of games and features (I'll buy one again eventually).

Also, let me just add that this very telling in regard to which consumers Nintendo values the most right now. It's the children and families. I think they are still blinded by the Wii and DS phenomenon they had to see that there are potentially MILLIONS of fans out there who want to like Nintendo and their games, but for reasons like this they can't. Their games lately have catered more and more to the younger demographic. .

I know not many used this App, but I did. And I am very disappointed in this decision for a couple of reasons. First of all, you can still send messages to your friends on Miiverse for WiiU. Sooo....WHY wouldn't they just take the option to attach pictures away from Swapnote?!

More importantly, this little App was what many thought of as a small step in the right direction of making Nintendo consoles more social and connected. In fact it is one of the few exclusive ideas Nintendo has had in this regard. To take it away, and for such a silly reason, is a HUGE step backward in my book.

This is the best deal yet on the eShop! I have a phys copy of RE Revelations and it's one of the best games on 3DS, especially when graphics are concerned. Don't be put off by supposedly slow nature of the game either, because it is actually very action heavy with tons of weapons and upgrades, and fun online multiplayer. I think I will finally get Mercenaries now that it is at the RIGHT price too! Yay for Halloween : )
