The Wonderful 101 Launch Dates Revealed

Posted by Lee Meyer

This has been one long launch window!

Platinum Games' upcoming superhero title, The Wonderful 101, was given its launch dates during today's European and North American Nintendo Direct videos. The title will launch in Europe on 23rd August and in North America on 15th September. It was originally announced at E3 2012 as a launch window release, but was delayed through the summer.

Nothing new was shown of the game, unfortunately, merely a snazzy new logo.

Are you excited for the launch of The Wonderful 101? Let us know in the comments section.

Now all I have to do is wait to see if this game turns out to be worth the wait.

Looks like I definitely wont be getting Rayman now. Ubisoft had their chance.

Man, that's disappointing but at least now it has a date. It was still really screwed up to list that & Pikmin as launch window titles!!!

W101 will really hurt Rayman sales, I'll still pick it up but with SLU in June, Pikmin 3 in July & W101 in August it may have to wait due to lack of funds and time. Ubi should have kept it at launch.

Europe is getting it in August...& US in September... "Hahaha. Aw man..." Still September then.

As long as they review well, Pikmin 3 and W101 will finally be the first Wii U games I actually want to play. Pretty sure they'll both turn out good too. Yay!

I'm still gonna go for Rayman I'm afraid.. unfortunate timing on the release date I'm afraid. Doesn't mean I won't be getting TW101 eventually, but I'm simply too stoked for Rayman Legends. Ah well, with NSLU and Pikmin on the horizon there's plenty to keep me entertained.

"This has been one long launch window!" Epic.

W/ the US Sept 15th date, and Pikmin 3 Aug 4, I hope Nintendo isn't counting on this as their big Sept. title. It may sell, but I don't think it will sell all that well once all the anti-Nintendo reviewers comment on how short it is, and I don't see it as a system seller either. And where's Bayonetta 2?

June - Luigi Levels
July - Wii Fit 2?
Aug - Pikmin 3
Sept - W101
Oct - WW HD?
Nov - Mario Kart?

Well I suppose Kirby's Yarn Planet will be in there somewhere. And the irrational hope for a new open world Mario. I know the WiiU is also getting W_D, AC4 and Batman Origins so it should be competitive this holiday.

I think I feel sorry for holiday shopping parents who have to buy a game for a kid that's on 4 or 5 systems. Nintendo really needs to market their exclusives better to parents: "Nintendo: Our games, our system, no confusion". Well once the Wii vs. WiiU confusion gets put to rest. Maybe they should pull all Wii consoles after E3, it's not like they're going to put out a new game for it, and Wii games can be played on WiiU. PS4 can't do that, and we'll have to wait until Monday for MS news.

I'm super hyped for this game.
But why does Europe get it 3 weeks before the US?
Really Nintendo.

I can't wait for some Platinum games action! and I love the damn Logo, it's kinda retro...

Same day as splinter cell you'd think they would stretch the games out a bit. I'm not complaining though more games are always welcome

Definitely my most anticipated 3rd party title at the moment. Even more so than Rayman.

I love the new logo... the hard part is getting rid of the white background in making a PNG formatted pic using PhotoShop CS6.

At long last with "The Wonderful 101", "Pikmin", "GTA V" & "The Last of Us" i'll be in gaming bliss.

Does anyone notice something... peculiar about that logo? The fact that it is colored in with space doesn't help either. Virtual cookies to whoever guesses where the a similar logo can be seen in gaming.

I was hoping this would be released in June... O well good lord Aug-Oct is going to be crazy... Need to save $

Since nobody still knows what Wii U is, the launch window probably had to be extended.

These launch-window games didn't really stay true to their word but oh well. I'm still somewhat excited for this game.

I don't understand the hype for this game. It looks like a little kids version of a champions online or DC universe game.

I will have to try it before buying it to see what its all about i guess.
