Mario Football would be interesting, but unlikely considering its lack of worldwide appeal.
As a Canadian, I've been waiting for Mario Hockey for like 15 years. My heart breaks.
Yeah, outside of Mario Sports Mix, there hasn't been much Mario involving Hockey. Shame, since I quite liked it in mini-game form, and wished it was more fleshed out.
The Wii U is in desperate need of a lot of things.
A soccer game isn't one of them.
Heh, unless it's called mario strikers charged.
The majority of gamers seems to be fine with their PES and FIFA games though, so i don't think it'd make the Wii U much more attractive to anyone but existing owners.
I don't really like sports video games. I prefer to play the real thing outside.
I hate when people say this. I respect if you don't like sports video games, but sports video games aren't supposed to simulate playing the real thing. You can't manage an entire football team in real life. You can't play as your favorite players in real life. That's what sports games are for, and I don't see why have to be viewed as an alternative to real sports.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
My brother bought the Wii U for Fifa 13 because it has off-TV play. He was very disappointed when he found out told Fifa 14 is not coming to the Wii U but will be coming out for the 3DS

Honestly, I'm still with Ryno on this. Heck, I don't even watch sports regularly since I'd rather be playing it myself than be a passive observer. I'll admit its a step up from just watching it, but still, I play games for their mechanics and stories while I play sports for physical exercise. I don't really like the mechanics of sports games, nor do I get any exercise from them, so in the end just downright don't appeal to me even as a fan of the sports, no matter how you try to spin it.
I do like stuff like Sega Soccer Slam and Virtua Tennis (1&2 anyway not interested in real players at all) / Virtua Striker / Neo Turf Masters and most of the 1st party Dreamcast ones.
Definitely don't like ones that are designed to look like a TV broadcast.

Really....doesn't Ps2 still get new FIFA games?
Ps2 but not Wii U
Yup. Basically EVERY system under the sun gets the game but not the Wii U. Imagine his disappointment.

Not only that, but people act as if you can just find a team of players and play a football/soccer/baseball game at any time
If you're like 15, sure. I remember back when I had nothing to do. But for most people with lives, organizing a pickup game of any sport with any decent amount of people is pretty difficult.
Don't worry, maybe Nintendo will announce Nintendo Cup 2014 for Wii U at E3. Or maybe not at all.
I'm interested at what sport titles will come for the system. Meanwhile, enjoy MK8!
God first.

Why play a racing game when you could just rip up the streets in your Ferrari after school? Why play COD when instead you could call up 11 buddies and grab 12 paintball guns and meet in an abandoned military facility and shoot at each other?
I don't know when this whole 'I don't play sports games, I just go outside and play the actual sport' thing started, but its one of the most ridiculous trends I have seen on this website. I have literally never heard anyone ever say this before in real life, and this is the only website where I have seen this sentiment stated.
"I have literally never heard anyone ever say this before"
I hear it all the time on gaming sites tbh.
I actually agree but I'm also not interested in telling people what type of games they should enjoy (or at least I spend my time telling you other games you could be enjoying instead)
