It'd be just like its 16-bit predecessor, but in HD! Included would be SMB, SMBtLL, SMB2, SMB3 & SMW, all with HD graphics! And plenty of extras, too, obviously. Maybe they could go a little bit further and include SM64 in HD!

Would you want this game? And if it was made, what would you want to be included?

I would buy for SMB2 remake alone.

Nope, not a fan of the All Stars versions. The Wii copy is enough for me.

Wait, HD as in HD versions of 16 bit games, or HD as in NSMBU style? If it's the latter, I'd be all for it, all of those classics deserve another set of remakes.

I'd buy it. Heck, it might be a system seller (might, as in probably not).

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Yeah, I was thinking NSMBU style. I think all these games would be awesome in that style, especially SMB2 as @Suicune mentioned.

I would definitely buy it, but I'm also definitely content with the All Stars remake on Wii. The quality of those Mario games is pretty good. Great library game.

HD remakes would be an interesting thing to have, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I'd prefer a good, original 2D Mario game (aka not New Super Mario Bros) than yet more remakes, even ones with as much improved as this.

But hey, I'd probably still buy it. Even more so if Super Mario 64 was redone in nice modern graphics and with some orchestrated/updated music.

I'd pass. I don't care for the NSMB graphics style, it seems so uninspired. I prefer the original look.

Another way they could do it (although they probably wouldn't), is keep the original 2D look, but use vectors instead of sprites. Sort of the Rayman Origins/Legends look, albeit with a totally different art style. In fact, the art style would be different for all of the games (excluding SM64, of course).

I say use high resolution sprites. Basically bring it up to scale. So, like, Mario was 16x32 pixels in the NES and SNES versions of the game. So... would that make it 72x144 pixels? And use the artwork from the original games as a base for the HD sprites in the game.

But, yes, I would be interested in this. Perhaps they could make a Super Mario All-Stars 2 with Super Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy & Galaxy 2, but I know Nintendo would much rather sell remakes of all those games separately. Or charge $240 for it.

if they did this i wouldn't want to see the old games on it, unless they gave them the New SMBU gameplay engine... now what i would like to see in a Mario All-Stars HD would be Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and both Galaxy and Galaxy 2, with 64, and Sunshine remade with SM3DW's graphic's engine~

Not that hard to imagine. Just imagine how it would have looked like if they developed it now but with the tech of Rayman Legends. Or they could go the Ducktales remastered route but then you'd basically have a gimed New SMB so... eh...

TBH I'm a bit Marioed out. If they want to do a HD remake of a 2D game like that they should do something different. Like Super Metroid, Earthbound or something along those lines. Especially if it's a cheap-ish downloadable game. Like 3D classics but HD classics.

You can only have so many remakes of the same games before people stop buying it...this would probably fall right on the line between too many and just enough
