Regardless of who gets offended, I ask that you all stop using the r-word.

I didn't see anyone use that word, probably because lz beat me to it.

But I can't see the part of my post where I singled out individual stories.

The key word being some.

QUEEN OF SASS

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

The Wal-Mart employee was rude, because the customer bought a Wii U game. There shouldn't even be a question about who's at fault here.

It's always weird reading stories like this, it seems all the rude people in my area work in fast food because I've never had a problem with retail especially when purchasing video games.

When I went to Gamestop to preorder my copy of Pokemon X, the two guys behind the counter were thrilled and started talking about how their had their copies secured and even bought the limited edition consoles. I had not a single problem picking up that game or buying Fire Emblem: Awakening at another Gamestop either. Employees just did their job and even struck up some small talk about the games trying to point me towards a good deal or asking what I heard about them.

I also haven't seen the whole "Nintendo stuff pushed back into a dusty corner" thing that others here apparently encounter as well. In my frequented Gamestop, the Nintendo section is the first on the left when you walk in, all the current and popular releases in stock, all your accessories, if there were more to show I'm sure it'd take up more space. Xbox is in the middle and Playstation takes up most of the space in the back because they have the most games. Outside the shop, currently the Zelda bundles share the new console display with the PS4 and XBO along with an ad poster for DK:TF. In Target/Walmart/Kmart/etc. the video game sections tend to be all lacking in general so I don't see any obvious "push" or focus on a platform in particular. My local Target had a nice working Wii U kiosk that I tried out though.

I guess it all depends on where you live?

LZ my good sir you're right, the WiiU version wasn't delayed so this word is irrelevant. Untitled

I was not joking when I said that. You can stop now or there will be consequences

Until video games retailers employ the sort of people that troll forums about 'their system winning', you'll have the same issues again and again. No different in CD shops, guitar shops, or computer stores.

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

The Wii U has essentially made NL a leper colony in the video game world lol

The Gamestop I went to, I told them I want a Nintendo prepaid card with the games I was returning it, and we talked for a bit, and I told them that Wii U is better than the other consoles. They said "right on man, that Nintendo quality man".

One time I went into Best Buy, took Super Mario 3D World off the shelf, walked to a cashier, said 'hey', handed them my Visa card, declined a bag, then walked out without exchanging any small talk.

My GameStop usually doesn't say anything about me buying Wii U games. When they do, it's always about Nintendo-related stuff or games that play similarly to what I bought.

They really connect with the people buying games for the respective systems they own. They even give me a list of games coming out for the system over the next couple of months.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

So one random employee, who is certainly making minimum wage and does not give much of a care about his job, at one random Wal*Mart, randomly insulted you under his breath.

Clearly Wal*Mart is a horribly dastardly store that no one should ever patronize again.

@the_shpydar It's kind of funny that you didn't read anything at all.

Actually, Wal*Mart IS a "horribly dastardly store that no one should ever patronize again", but that's another story for another time.

I've never had any clerk ever remark on my game purchases. If they do say anything, it's usually just casual, positive conversation like "this is a good game" or "I want this one" or "you'll love this game" or "would this be a good game for my kids?"
I've had a large number of clerks at EB Games hit on me before, if that counts? Perks of being a girl gamer. If the cashier is a girl sometimes she'll say "it's always good to see girls buying stuff in here" and we might have a nice chit-chat about what I'm buying and what systems I have etc.
It's always nice to speak with another girl in person who really "gets it", if you know what I mean.

What the cashier at walmart said to you is ridiculous. I would have filed a complaint. It's bad for business. Of course, he doesn't get a crap. He's making like $11 an hour.

This is why I just buy stuff on Amazon. I still get a physical copy, but don't have to put up with potential employee BS. Simple.

@redivgamer90 same here! Except they're more-so pushing the Xbox One here. I went to EB the other day and the whole store was green.
I'm trying to wrap up my Wii collection (I want it finished by the end of the year) and I'm slowly pulling my DS and PS3 collections together as well. These last few times it's been
"Are you interested in the Xbox One?" or "Are you going to get a next-gen system? Get the Xbox One" or "can I interest you in the Xbox One?"
I don't know what's more annoying. That or when they try to push the warranty on me.

@Gamecubed: Everywhere I goes, they push the warranty on me... Do I look rich or something?

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

I'm reminded of that one time when an employee at Gamestop spent literally minutes talking about how Nintendo was going to die soon. In 2005.

To this day, I have no idea he felt so desperate to tell some 14 year old this because I decided to buy a copy of Minish Cap.

that actually happened for the record
