If I may recommend two Virtual Console ones that I very much enjoy (both from SNES), I'd recommend Earthbound and Super Mario RPG. I'm not even a huge RPG kind of guy but I find both of these very fun, not too difficult to understand, and can be quite difficult at times (Earthbound more than SMRPG in my opinion anyway). Plus, it wouldn't cost you but about $18 total for both of them.

Pssst... pass it on.

Personally I would love to see them take one of their franchises and make a new RPG out of it, kind of like when they took the world of Mario and make Super Mario RPG, or the Paper Mario series. Perhaps something like Kid Icarus would be a good one, or Zelda would be another. I know it's not going to happen now, but I would sure like to see the Mother series make a comeback.

Opinions broham (or sisham), everyone has em.
Some people like JRPGs, and want more em. Your preference is not supreme, but still feel free to express it.

I'm so glad you're here to tell me somehing I already know. Thanks!

Just for you.

You should be able to play The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles on your Wii U if you did not catch them on the Wii. Highly regarded RPGs.

You could also look into the Wii back catalog of JRPG's:

Xenoblade
Last Story
Sakura Wars
Tales of Symphonia
Arc Rise Phantasia
Phantom Brave

...etc....

As others have stated, the VC has tons of old JRPG classics, as well. Shining Force is my favorite, and Earthbound is really good.

So I ended up picking up Xenoblade Chronicles, and so far am not dissapointed. The battle system is so fun!

Damn, how much did you pay for it? I was lucky and picked up for $60 about a month before the price skyrocketed to $100+ for a like-new copy.

I got a $90 copy from my brother for my birthday. The price dropped to $80 the week afterwards.

If you don't have the game and still want to experience it, I suggest watching Chuggaconroy's let's play of it. He's really committed, so far that he plans the weather he wents during cutscenes. He's really experienced, and knows what he's talking about, planning this let's play for over a year. Just throwing it out there.

I mean I don't have the game and the cheapest version is the special edition one with red classic controller for about 150€, so yeah not really gonna happen.

PAL Xenoblade is £40 from CeX. The price will sit at £40 until they realise they're not selling it. They then drop it to £28 and it sells out. This has been going on for a few years now.

Metroid Prime Trilogy went down to £38, sold out and is now £60 again.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

Really wish they'd convert Paper Mario and Mario RPG to Wii U mode. I want to play N64 RPGs on the gamepad

Another Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles games like the first one on the gamecube would be nice, with a side of the mechanics from the FFCC DS games as well.

The Megaman Battle Network series is underrated... I think, don't quote me on this.
