meh.... Wii sold like hotcakes cos millions of kids wanted it or because it was able to catch the interest of grown up-non gaming parents?

I believe the second.... As it is now, we have the first big generation of parents, who are also gamers in their early thirties with kids...and, more important, money....

Nintendo should aim to them, showing them a portfolio of titles which is good for everyone.... and this is not the case nowaday..... cos the lack of "mature" contents compared to xbox/ps4 is obvious....

And when I talk about mature contents, I don't necessary mean boobs and warfare.... I mean titles like Diablo III, TLOU, Forza Horizon and whatever else millions of people enjoy to play nowaday....

@TheRealThanos simply because i don t see why i have to buy a 3rd console of the same generation, just to have things (2nd analog, better 3d, better analog) that should have been in it at the 3dsxl restyle already.... without the need of making an hd gap tooo, especially after just showing one week before the brand new 3ds xl with smash bros design.... honestly, i don t understand why a lot of mature ppl just keep defending all this milking strategies from Nintendo....

@gravesmeister maybe u are just a lucky rich guy who can afford to buy a iphone everytime it come out.... but consider this:
1) u can still run the same apps on older phones
2) normally new consoles are announced 1 or even more years before, so the users can make choices.... not like 1 month before, out of nothing, would u think ppl who bought a 3ds this summer will be super happy?

Thats good, but why don't saying anything like that the exact moment they announced the delay? Ok, I wanna believe them... i'll get driveclub for Ps4 and wait Project cars to come to WiiU, in order to support them and every third party who wanna develop for the platform :D

They should have called it "Vaseline 3ds"... cos that's what we need, after:

1) Price drop of 3ds right after launch
2) release of 3ds XL lacking almost all the upgrades we were asking about
3) release of this new console which makes old 3ds and 3ds xl obsolete, my condolences to the ones who bought the 3ds xl right now...

After this and the WiiU software repetitive draughts, next time Nintendo gonna wait for so long my money.....

disappointed, they got me with 3ds and 3ds xl, they won t have me this time, and this features should have been already implemented in the 3ds xl... now will get a mess with games which goes only on one console and not the other... i feel nintendo just try to milk everything it can from us

@ShadyKnights on a philosophycal way i can agree with what u wrote, but don t forget that actually wiiU is not profitable for Nintendo.... and, despite the big cash they still have, a model where Nintendo produceniche hw and sw won t survive in this market, already dried out by smartphones and tablet....so, something as to change in the next gen, either becoming only a software house or betting everything on the core gaming, with a powerful hw and less gimmicks in orddr to expand its userbase

I hardly understand the japanese trend... They keep buying an almost dead console (Vita) and ignoring the masterpiece of the last generation (last of us)... I am playing it these days.. Jeez this game is a drug, amazing story and great mechanics...

@JamesCoote ok, but casual gamers didn't exist before Wii... and now portable devices took that piece of the pie.. so I guess is fair that Sony went back to the root... and honestly, I am happy about that... had enough of this casual games which were not deep enough... I still have WiiU retrocompatibility if I wanna enjoy them with my family or friends...

@Undead_terror yes, but the circle pad pro has not a big installed base... and no fps would really help to get it (IMHO it makes the handheld so big that you can hardly call it handheld anymore..)

Concerning the stylus, I have to disagre... especially if more than L shoulder button is used in the game...

@JamesCoote I agree on what you are saying... and it is even worst advertisment for the consoles that don't host the game (= WiiU)...

for the family, casual market... I am personally glad that ps4 brought back the "game" experience to his core... many of this kinects, moves and siblings were, for the most, jokes and gimmicks...

The holidays line-up for ps4 looks promising... starting from destiny to little big planet 3. The same for WiiU... I guess ps4+WiiU is the way to be this generation, if you like to have a full spectrum experience...

I feel Sonic games are the only ones in which fans (or supposedly called fans) analyze the game with surgical precision and start to rant to anything possible.... the smiles on a character, the length of his legs, the particular unknown actor who dub him, the color and model of the shoes... jesus... let the game come out and evaluate it for the fun (or not) it brings you...
