That was the Wii U showcase and the Pokemon direct is just going over X and Y.

i dont know, this was just a messed up Direct. this is E3 we're talking about, the biggest gaming event of the year, and they only showed us a steaming load of crap. this is just unforgivable unless there's more to come.

I've been extremely patient with Nintendo. I've supported the company for 19 years, and every time they did something stupid I stood up for them. They usually came through in the end. Even with the Wii U complaints, I've insisted things will get better. Now, for the first time in my life, I'm regretting my purchase with them. They showed some alright games but nothing to make it worth purchasing the system. Nintendo, come on, it can't be that hard...

To be fair we get Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country, 3D World, Wonderfull 101, Super Luigi U and Rayman Legends before the end of the year. Could have been a lot better but it's hardly bad.

Nintendo is doing fine (as far as their games are concerned)
Everyone knows that Gaming Console can't be about 1st party games only. That's ridicules.
70% + games should be 3rd party. Everything else 1st and 2nd party dev. games.

Where are those games on Wii U?

overall im happy with the direct. big open mario games are good and everything but arnt as interesting when replaying them. i find sunshine and 64 a little tedious now but loved them the first few times though. this looks to be a fun game even when playing years after, like the original 3 and world.
DK looks awesome really liking the 3d environments. cant wait for that one.
mario kart looks to be the best yet too as does smash bros but with those series it literally is the same thing year after year.

so yeah i thought it was good but definitely missing something maybe more will come tonight after the press interviews and whatever else, maybe even another direct. after all where was yarn yoshi and theres alot of 3ds games that should have had more coverage.

this. 100% this. i feel regret for getting a WiiU since the only game i'm looking forward to is still in development and is a remake of a game i already own (WWHD).
i feel like migrating to the playstation fanbase. i've put up with nintendo for a long time. PS4 is $399. that's $50 above the Deluxe WiiU, $100 below the X1. that is a punch in the face from Sony to MS AND Nintendo. and i love it.

I expected more, but it wasn't bad by any means. Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 were both expected, but they're going to be amazing games anyway. Smash Bros. is probably going to be amazing untill Nintendo themselves turn rubbish. And I feel like I haven't gotten enough footage to make a proper judgement on some of these anyway(namely 3DW).

Though I would have preferred something supernew, I don't mind how 3D World is a regular old school platformer. @tbd was right in the chat, there is not much more they can go beyond SPAAAAACE. And if they had made a third SMG people would complain about that. _{But I still say that they could have utilised "Blank space"} I enjoyed 3D land but felt that it was somewhat lacking anyway- so if this is going to be a more "complete" version of it I am very glad because it felt like it had so much unused potential ~

Question, would someone mind explaining Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze to me? My connection was screwy and I missed that part.

I'll try and add one positive thing to this thread, and that is that two of the games I bought the Wii U for in the first place "Bayonetta 2" & "Mario Kart U" are probably two of the best looking games we know about, they both looked fantastic.

But, the real killer as I mentioned before is that Mario Kart is nigh on a year away, a Mario Kart game with great! online play is just the sort of game the Wii U needs NOW! not in a year's time.

As for Bayonetta 2 that could end up being towards the end of 2014 at this rate.

It just seems to long, in the meantime there's just nothing that exciting on the way at all, even something as good as Wind Waker is a ten year old game, so it's nothing major for a new console.

Also just remembered, they never showed any more of the new Yarn Yoshi game? that's a surprise, I thought that would have been an obvious game to show?

DKC looked lame. the only DKC games for me are the SNES games. when i see 3D mario games, i want the gameplay style from 64 and sunshine, maybe the galaxy games. i HATE SM3DL. i doubt the new one will be any better.

I am also disappointed on the 3D Mario. I wanted Super Mario Universe, not a 3D Mario Land. Its too much like NSMB for my liking (that is ok for a Hand Held Platform)
Is the new DKC game made by Retro ?
It is good that Duck Tales remake is coming to eShop, and X looks pucka'.
No new F-Zero, no new Metroid, no new Starfox, no new Zelda (WW is cool, but I thought this was to fill the time gap for lack of games), and my biggest disappointment no VC news. Overall not very pleasing, unless there is more to follow
