Splatoon has never given me much connection issues, and I'm using a wireless connection. Super Smash Bros on the other hand can often be very laggy for me.
I should be getting much better internet soon and a wired connection, so I'll have to make the most of it and start playing more Smash.
I guess, but that actually has very little to do with the Wii U. In fact, I literally have 2 unopened games and I still haven't touched Guacamelee. I just haven't had as much time/interest to play games the past year or so. Also, we have a person who currently lives in the basement where the Wii U is kept so...yeah. That also limits things.
Granted, anyone who has played it less specifically for the lack of major releases, I am fairly certain hasn't played Wonderful 101 either, so...
I still play a lot of Wii games, vc and eshop stuff as well as any retail games that comealong. I put in about 50 hhours a month still but having two kids can limit the time I once had.
I played it tons in 2013, 2014 and 2015. This year I played some Pokken Tournament and Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard, then waited for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and played the heck out of that, and now I'm waiting for Paper Mario Color Splash. So no, not as much as I used to that's for sure. Granted, it's winding down and there's much less releasing for it.
I do actually play the thing a ton now still... just, mostly for the Wii, GameCube and VC selection rather than new Wii U games.

I would really recommend the high capacity battery Nintendo sells on its online store. It was $31.99 when I got mine (actually grabbed 2 so I had backup in case they stopped selling them) but I think it's $39.99 now.
Expensive, I know. But what it brings to the table is invaluable. I couldn't stand my Gamepad dying in a few hours. It's so aggravating. But with this HC battery I get 6-8 hours from it- dang near as long as a DualShock 4 controller.
Best money I ever spent.

Lately? No. My Wii U useage has stayed about the same for roughly a year now. About .1 hours per day on average, I'd wager. Not sure it can get much lower than that.
I still play my Wii U almost daily. Mostly Splatoon and Hyrule Warriors for now, but also sessions of Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Yoshi's Woolly World (because Yoshi ♥), and some VC games in between here and there.
I personally really love the Wii U, and it's a real darn shame that they're kind of forced to pull the plug on it rather soon and seem to have already given up on it overall. But the system is still bringing me many hours of joy (and sometimes rage; curse you E-Liters!), and I'm still super happy that I bought the system.

Yeah, I'm playing less and less, but that might be related more to the fact that I'm giving my final exam to graduate in August (plus finding another intership for 6 months) and less for the games. My backlog is giant at this point.
When I finally put all the exam stuff behind me, I'm in the mood to replay XCX.
Nope. Probably still my most played console. I've got so many games that I still haven't played on it. And I've got a lot of Wii and Gamecube games still to get through too.
The Wii U was a day one buy for me but I haven't touched it for around 8 months to a year or so. Having recently bought an Xbox, that has been using up my time and Pokémon Go certainly didn't help either. Hopefully the Nintendo NX will suck me back in to some Nintendo gaming.

Just as much as always. No, not as much as when original and deep games like Xenoblade X and Mario Maker were new, but I pick up all the good indies at least and enjoy them, like Letter Quest Remastered and Beatbuddy which are on sale right now.
Zelda Twilight Princess and Tokyo Mirage Sessions have had me playing the Wii U a bunch here lately, and I have several games I've bought and haven't played through yet (Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade X, Deus Ex, etc.).
I think this will go down as a system that was great, and didn't get nearly the amount of love it deserved.

I don't play the Wii U much. That's the joke.
There is no joke. Only the Wii U.
why did you buy it then?
Because I had just gotten my first job, and like a dipstick, I decided to run out and spend my first paycheck on something new and shiny. The Wii U fit that description back in June 2013, not to mention they just announced Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei, not to mention Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 were due out in the Fall. Plus, we all knew a new Zelda would come out for it eventually.
I then quit that awful job in August of that year. Meanwhile, I'm still about 100 hours away from finishing the first Xenoblade and moving on to its X, Pikmin 3 disappointed the hell out of me, I still suck at action games, and the FExSMT I saw at E3 2013 was shanked off-stage and replaced with its gay cousin.
At least I played a lot of Smash Bros. and Mario, though I never did beat Bowser...
EDIT: And Monster Hunter! Though I had spent a good 45 hours on the 3DS version beforehand, so....
The Wii U is still my most played console these days when I'm not PC Gaming, I usually play Splatoon daily and go on the internet browser whenever I wake up or before I go to bed. My 3DS and PS3 hasn't got much attention lately when you exclude replaying 4 Ultimate with a friend, though the 3DS part might change once I go out for vacation in September or October as it'll be the only electronic aside from my laptop I'll be bringing with me for the trip. Overall I think the Wii U is a neat little system, physical releases may have been small, but I got a bunch of digital games like VC and indies.
I bought my Wii U+MK8 a week ago, and when Im seeing these topics, I wonder if I made a right choice between PS4 and Wii U...
But yes, as a new owner, Im playing my Wii U... Currently MK8 and different demos, even that Lost Reavers game, which I had played around 2 hours, and... its not really that bad as everyone is saying, and I will be playing that for some time... I guess...
And I will be buying some more games, so I guess I will be playing for some time.
