Topic: EA against Wii U

We have heard that EA won't release any games for Wii U because of small install base and bad sales.

1. PS4 and XBOX one don't have install base at all yet they are making games for it.
2. Wii U Madden and FIFA were bad ports with many missing features from PS3/XBOX 360 + high price

What's wrong with EA - Nintendo relationship?

EA are hedging their bets on the PS4 and Xbox One. They feel that even though there is no market yet, people will make the switch to the One & PS4. EA doesn't feel the Wii U will have the sales.

This was because EA didn't support the Wii as comprehensively as the Xbox 360 or PS3.

This was because the Wii was grossly underpowered compared to the two consoles.

This might change in the future (I'd like nothing more than to see EA come grovelling back to the Wii U after it enjoys a sales spike, but at the moment, that just isn't happening), but for now, EA are happy to ignore the Wii U.

The thing is also the fact that PS4 and XBOX ONE are easy to port back and forth from each other as well as from either for or from the PC, while the Wii U basically stand on its own, so even if the Wii U was individually the best selling console, it'll still make more sense to release a game for PS4/XBONE/PC that release a game only for Wii U

It's not just EA, third parties in general just have a problem with the Wii U.

EA isn't impressed with the Wii U. They are waiting until it becomes a more viable console. I, unlike others, am not a big fan of EA and the games it publishes.

OK, I can accept EA-out it's not great company.

But how about 2K Games (Bioshock, NBA2k14, WWE 2k14) this was also SURPRISE???

EA is all about making money just like every company and you can't fault them for that. They know most of their market is on Microsoft and Sony platforms.

Battle.net - Dayman
Steam - RancidVomit86
PSN - RancidVomit86

I completly understand ea. Simply not many people own wii u. You said they are making games for ps4 and xbox1 befor they have any install base at all. The made games for wii u before it had any install base too.

Well, EA has a ton of properties. Nintendo should welcome the fact that they don't want to publish anything on the system. Nintendo has their cache of first party games, but who says they can't make their own sports titles to compete? I haven't forgotten NBA Courtside or Ken Griffey Slugfest. They could make their own wrestling game by utilizing New Japan wrestling. My hope is that they don't lament the loss of games but compete and bring EA to their knees.

Nothing more true than this. Many haters. I don't care... I like the Wii U and that's all that matters to me.

I've done research on Wii U hardware and It's slightly more powerful than it looks like (on paper), There are Phones more powerful than Wii U and that's a shame.

I've already decided to use Wii U only for VC and few Wii U games. There will be no sports, sci fi shooters and other high-tech games.

It is possible that there are phones more powerful than the Wii U, but how much would they cost?

I'm pretty sure you'll be paying over a grand for anything that's portable that can run games better than the Wii U, besides a laptop of course.
I just looked at iPad, and the best graphics that has are somewhere under the Xbox 360. That's why I argue that you might as well get a Surface 8 Pro. You might not get better graphics, but you're getting ALOT of PC games that are superior to any iPad game.
You can run basically any PC software on a Surface, vs. Apple App Store BS.

As for phones, they generally scale games from tablets onto them, so it's basically identical besides the screen size. In conclusion, I'd say Wii U is a capable device that's worth the money.
When you compare Wii U to basically any device, including more expensive ones, you're getting exactly what you pay for. That is fair if you ask me. You get a tablet controller to boot, which can add to traditional games, as well as having tablet like games.

Art Academy for Wii U by itself looks like way better drawing software than anything on a tablet or phone, and I can play it in a similar fashion as Airplay, except I don't have to pay another $100 for an Apple TV. I didn't pay as much as an iPad for the Wii U either, and it can run better things.
Look at every device, and Wii U has it's place as an effective hybrid home console.

EA is just like most major third party publishers. They give the Nintendo systems their C games and shoddy ports of their A games and then complain when those games aren't a resounding success. How about, actually putting as much effort into the Nintendo games as they put into their ps/xbox games and see how well those sell? It might make a difference. I find it quite offensive when they don't give us a Castlevania in the form of a fighting game or Resident Evil in the form of a light gun game and then don't give us any REAL games because those weird games didn't sell. Playstation and xbox players don't have to do that. They don't have to buy weird, crappy games to get good ones. Why do they treat Nintendo fans like that?

Just for the record, I would have bought Need for Speed if it had multiplayer. That was a dealbreaker for me. They put all that effort into the game, but couldn't include something that's been standard since the NES days? Or SNES if you only count racing games, but that's still a long time.

That's why people should want sales of Wii U to turn around. EA's games are trash but other third parties like 2K, the Eidos branch of SquareEnix and Bethesda to name a few, have some good stuff. It'd be awesome to see Fallout or a new Elder Scrolls (not personally a fan of ES but many are) on Wii U.

@DudeSean Actually I would rather have REmake, Zero, Umbrella & Darkside Chronicles over RE5 & 6... Also RE4, Mercenaries & Revelations are better on the Nintendo side of the spectrum... The other systems turned RE into a steaming pile of dog poop
